When I moved to Rochester, MN, I had to get various services set up. I got my cable and internet services from Charter Communications. Back then, to get them set up, you couldn't do it over the phone. In a way, I was glad because I didn't have that service set up at the time, either! I went to the closest Charter location to get both services set up. It made sense to go with cable internet at the time. I could have the same company for both my TV and internet. I went with a deluxe channel lineup for my TV. When I got a DirectTV account, I downgraded to basic channels with Charter. It worked perfectly. I don't remember any full cable outages. I always got to see my TV shows. My cable internet service wasn't perfect. When it was down, it was down. Luckily, I didn't have the need to work from home. However, when you're trying to do tasks online and you can't, it was a pain. When I moved back to Winnipeg, cancelling my services was smooth. I was pleased. I hope that internet services offered by Charter are more stable these days. Otherwise, I had a good experience with the TV side. (51)

    Do not, under any circumstance, ever go with Charter Spectrum for internet. They truly have the…read moremost pathetic customer service I have ever experienced. They have so many hidden fees and costs that aren't disclosed up front. If you notice an issue on your billing statement, you won't get your money back. I had Charter internet 7 years ago and vowed I would never use their services again. Fast forward to this year, and I was swindled into a deal that sounded too good to pass up by a traveling Charter Spectrum sales rep. It has been nothing but frustration and headache trying to cancel this service. I could go on and on, but just do yourself and your sanity a favor and go with literally ANY other service than Charter Spectrum. This business needs to be formally shutdown.

    Made an appointment over the phone (after terminating my cable modem / WiFi) to return the…read moreequipment. The operator recommended this option as she said it could get busy, but with an appointment I could get right in and return the equipment. Um, so this didn't quite work in real-time as it did in theory. I arrived shortly before my scheduled appointment and put in the confirmation code for my appointment and it said please have a seat, we will be right with you. Then I saw many other people waiting as well. There were only two Spectrum workers in the store, and when my name popped up on the board it said I was second after the people they were helping and the person before me. While waiting for my 2 PM appointment, it is now 2:30 PM and nothing has changed, except for two customers who were here before I got here, getting mad and leaving. So now more people have come in and still they are assisting the same two customers as when I came in. Not sure, but what could take this long to accomplish? Obviously, not efficient or effective use of time management. You would think they could let people know of the wait time, or at least apologize for the long delay. I can't come back as I have to leave town in the morning, so... Finally was helped and it took like 5 min to return, apparently the other two people were having phones activated that "takes a while". I raised from 1 star to 2 stars because the tech that helped me was very nice and apologized for the long wait. Bottom line, good service when using the equipment, but expect a long wait if you need something at this location.
