I recently adopted a new puppy and did a lot of research on the best vet in the area. Triadelphia made my number one, but I went with a cheaper and closer vet at the last minute. Ultimately I switched, and I'm so glad I did. The staff is so wonderful with my dog, and you can tell they enjoy their job. Our vet Karen was very thorough and explained everything well in terms of nutrition, vaccine series, grooming, etc. I never felt rushed and I was very impressed with our service. Triadelphia may be more pricey and farther from me, but I will make that effort for the best care for my dog. read more

I'm new to the area and was in search for a good vet. Dr. Oltman was just the ticket! Firstly, the staff working with the docs are so nice and attentive. They cannot always answer the phone but they always get back to me same day. When Dr. Oltman entered the room, she had a very calming presence and my dogs took to her immediately. She's genuine, took the time needed with my pups, and explained things in a manner that made sense to me (ie: maybe my girls don't need certain vax since they're home pups--no boarding, grooming or dog parks). She took the time to review their information from my previous vet BEFORE meeting with us, as brand new patients. That really stood out to me and it showed me that she truly cares. I came here with a bucket of Labradoodle puppies, and the breeder I was buying one of the puppies from. The staff here were super efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly as heck. They were able to simultaneously give a bunch of rambunctious puppies their eight week shots and check ups, and educate me on what my dog needed, and what I could expect. Dr. Stup gave me all the paperwork I would need when I got home to my vet in California and were very conscious of different regional needs for vaccinations, giving me advice and a vaccination schedule, but telling me to follow the advice of my local veterinarian when I got home. I cannot say enough good things about Triadelphia Vet. We have been going there for the last 9 years with our Goldendoodle, Molly. Through those 9 years, I believe we have had visits with all of the doctors, but our favorite has to be Dr. Oltman (all docs there are great) - absolutely amazing. At no point during any visit have we been made to feel rushed or felt that we were being "up-sold" on unnecessary services/procedures. I've always felt that Dr. Oltman and the entire staff care immensely about our Molly and their primary focus is not on making money, but on caring for the animals in the most cost efficient way possible. (Yes, they run a business and they are trying to make a profit, but never at the cost of doing unnecessary procedures to increase their bottom line). Additionally, Dr. Oltman has the patience of a saint. My girlfriend is madly in love with our Goldendoodle and when something is wrong with Molly, the girlfriend has questions, lots of them. Dr. Oltman has never rushed us off the phone, she has called us after hours to check in, entertained the "I read on the internet" questions without rolling her eyes, and has been amazing in every way possible. (Again, all the docs are great, but to us, Oltman stands out). And it's not just the doctors. The Vet Techs and all of the other staff are great. In short, we have received nothing but excellent care, friendly service and affordable pricing for the 9 years we've been with Triadelphia Vet. After spending $400+ on a vet bill on a Saturday, they said to call back if he wasn't better Monday. I called two hours ago (today is Monday!) and they said a vet tech would call me back soon. I called in because I hadn't received a call and was told they would get to me when they get to me. The actual vets and techs are good, but if you can't reach them, it doesn't do you any good. My dog is sick, needed a quick 1m consult, and to be blown off when I waited 2 hours on a "soon" for a *tech* (I'd kind of understand if it was for an actual vet, as there's few of them on any given day- but this was 2 hours to wait for a *tech* to call back).... That's not acceptable. When I called the vet I take my other dog to, they got somebody immediately, gave the incredibly quick consult, and already have him scheduled for an appointment. That's what people need when their pet is sick! read more

Dr. Oltman has been our vet for nearly three years and she cares for our dogs and cats like they are her own fur babies. You cannot find kinder people than this. Who answers emails and calls you just to talk through an issue? Our family Stan, Jane, GoldenBear, Boddington and PussPuss (as well as all the Kitty family members who have gone before) are all very loyal to the Team at Tridelphia Vet Clinic. I pass 5 vet practices to take my cats to them. I recently took a feral cat who had been on our property for about two years and had gotten close enough to us to take him to be neutered and get his shots. "PussPuss" was treated as if he was a regular returning client--not just another stray. We even got a call the next day from the vet to check on how he was doing. I recently had to start one of the older cats on an inhaler for asthma. The vet was good enough to tell me to look for coupons to pay for the medication as the prices were increasing significantly--and so I did. Now Boddington gets his inhaler and breaths easier. Dr. Susan Oltman has been my vet for over 10 years and I wouldn't go to anyone else. When my cat developed kidney disease, she left no stone unturned looking for possible treatments. When we had exhausted all of our options and had to put her down, Dr. Oltman cried along with us. She provides the highest level of veterinary care with realistic advice. We use to go to a Veterinary Clinic 10 minutes from home when Dr. Oltman was practicing there. We love Dr. Oltman so much that we followed her to Glenelg, MD., which is now a 30 minute drive for us. Dr. Oltman has been with all of our dogs since they were puppies, we have always loved her bedside manner and practical approach to matters. She is so down to earth and always finds time to return telephone calls and most importantly she treats your pet as one of her own. We are so happy to be re-united with Dr. Oltman!! This vet is fantastic! My sister and mother take their pets here and suggested I take my precious Josie here today, when her eye swelled up. I called them around 10am, told them her symptoms and asked if they had any openings. They said they were booked, but to come on in ASAP and she'll be seen as fast as possible. They kindly warned me, "there may be a short wait." I told them I don't mind, this is my baby, after all. I live super close, just 13min away. So we drove right over. I don't think I've ever had such a SHORT wait at a vet clinic! As soon as I filled out the simple, one page new patient intake, they weighed her and brought her and I right back. Within 2-3 min the vet and two assistants came in. They were friendly and gentle with my sweet girl. The vet was thorough and compassionate, but also fast. When we got the good news that there was no scratch or ulcer on her eye, the vet prescribed her a drop. We left the room, I paid - only $75!!! Which is fantastic for a last-minute, first time appointment, plus medication! It was so easy and I really felt like they cared about Josie. Great vets are hard to find and this one is a keeper for sure! read more

After multiple bad experiences with vets in Howard County (see below), I tried out TVC. It's not particularly close to my house, so I grumbled the whole way to my first visit. I am absolutely a convert. First and foremost, the vets and the techs are all the most wonderful people. They are kind and thoughtful and caring. They see our pets in context with your whole life. They never suggest anything that won't ultimately make your fur baby comfortable. They have now seen us through cancer, heart failure, and one memorable incident in which one of the beagles dug her way under a fence and into my neighbor's yard where a full grease trap awaited. They've helped us to decide when to fight, and when to let our friends go. The second reason I'm a convert is financial. The grease trap incident happened after office hours, and I wound up at the emergency vet. He did a blood test on the dog, and charged me 40 bucks while apologizing. I snorted and said my regular vet (at the time) would have charged far more. He stared at me, and asked a bunch of questions. Turned out the practice was literally charging me triple the actual cost of various tests, and in this vet's opinion, many of those tests were unnecessary. He recommended TVC as honest and fair. I have found this to be the case for the last five years. read more

We are new to the area and the move seemed to be a bit too stressful for our pup. Lucky for us, the Triadelphia Veterinary Clinic is right down the street. While I was on the phone making the appointment, they really listened to my pup's symptoms to assess whether it was an emergency or whether she could wait until the next day. We got an appointment for early the next day. My pup is a very nervous dog - the Triadelphia Vets took their time to make sure my pup was comfortable - to make sure it was a positive visit so not to scare her into coming back for future visits. Dr. Jones was my cats' vet for the first couple years of their lives and, after I moved from and returned to area, when they were senior pets. My one cat also had dental work performed by Dr. Stup. The front desk staff and veterinary assistants have all been wonderful. The level of care my cats have received has exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend Traidelphia Vet Clinic to anyone. I purposely sought out Dr. Jones when I returned to area, and I drive from Savage to Glenelg passing all the vets in between to have her take care of my cats. I think that the price at this clinic are fair, and I never felt that the doctors here have recommended any procedure that was not necessary. read more

We have been taking our dog to Dr Jones at Triadelphia since she was a puppy, after having gotten tired of the pressure at VCA Lewis to do unnecessary procedures. We can't say enough good things. Appointments have been easy to get and the care has been first rate. However, we recently had an experience that reinforced how good this place is. We were on vacation in the Finger Lakes in NY and our dog developed swimmers ear and hot spots. We saw a local vet in NY who rushed in, took a cursory glance at her ears, told us how to clean them, prescribed some stuff, rushed out, and charged us $107. He didn't even shave the affected area so it could dry out. Needless to say, it continued getting worse and the dog was becoming miserable. We returned from the trip and took her into Triadelphia, where Dr Oltman treated her properly and the hot spots have cleared up quickly. read more

I would never ever take my animals back here. I took my animal in for a routine exam and vaccines for my 2 year old dog and they tried to sell me hundreds of dollars worth of tests and bloodwork. My dog is healthy and happy and did not need an excess of tests. Also, the receptionist was rude on the phone and when I walked in the door. The technician also was not nice or comforting to my dog. She didn't even acknowledge her accept to hold her for the exam. I couldn't wait to leave fast enough and never go back. read more

There is so much I could say about this wonderful Veterinary Clinic. I love each of the doctors. They are compassionate, sensitive to the pain of the pet parent and the pet/pets. I would not go any where else. They search for whatever the problem is and will not stop until they have an answer. I have gone from puppies in trouble, to special help on a serious situation and the help and love during the time I lost my 9 month old puppy to xzoltol, sugarless gum in my mom pocket. They were so kind to me, as they are always. I especially love the manager she always remembers you by name and talks to you like you are her best friend. Before I complete this review, I want you to know they are also very generous when a person is truly struggling. My daughter was hit by a car and my life has been in turmoil dealing with all that involves. Even while I was in the hospital with her for two and half months, the employees wrote me e-mails to encourage me. Once I started getting my life in some sort of order they were there to help. After losing a mature cat shorty after receiving shabby treatment from a nearby animal Hospital, we have a new kitten. We took our new pet to Tridelphia for a routine check, and shots. Totally satisified with the service amd care they show for our pet and toward us as the pet parent, we took him back to be neutered. The thoughtful and compassionate staff and doctor were very reassuring. On another occasion we had to take our very sick kitty in. From the minute we walked in the door we were treated with thoughtful consideration. The techs, as well as the doctor demonstrated concern and competency. The kitten required hospitalization. At this point the clinic stepped it up to a new standard of excellence. The accommodation was first class. We were encouraged to call at any hour of the day or night to get a real-time status report. Plus the Vet called each afternoon with an update. When we were unable to visit, they sent adorable close up photos and a video. It was an amazing experience. Dr jones made two visits to the clinic to check on him on Thanksgiving day! Dr. Stup was equally proactive. They were all wonderful! The charges were another pleasant surprise! The charges were itemized and understandable! AND they were considerably less than we expected. Bottom line? We would give them 6 out of 5 stars! The highest recommendation possible is well deserved.
