Communication with the staff was decently quick, but the design I sent ahead of time was not used nor mentioned during the visit. You must make a deposit to set an appointment which I did not find strange, but no work was done prior to my visit, so the need for a deposit really only benefits the shop, as I still had to wait on tattoo prep during my visit. I think this is more a process improvement needed on their side. The shop was clean and the shop took every precaution I have seen in prior tattoo shops. After tattoo instructions were clearly communicated and given. The shop is also well located, albeit I do not know how easy it would be to find without good apps. My tattoo artist Igor was good. Thanks a ton for your work! Ultimately my tattoo is what I wanted, where I wanted, and I think at a decent price. I found Igor direct, which may be a bit different in terms of service than other places in North and South America. But his communication was clear and he was attentive. Ultimately, Black House Tattoo is a fine place to get a tattoo. I think their pre-appointment work could improve especially if I send content beforehand. But Igor was a great artist and did a great job. I prefer to make my payments on a credit card, but that is not the preferred payment method of the shop. Cash is king here, which is fine. I do think it should be communicated a bit more quickly, as I had missed that until I was already booking an appointment.

I went to him because he spoke…read morefluent English, was told he could do a watercolor tattoo for me, and did excellent work on other people. However, my tattoo turned out to be far different than I imagined (I know that's to be expected, but the colors were not watercolor and there was a thick outline, which I thought I made clear I didn't want). I wanted to go back for a touchup to fix the colors, but the guest artist moved away. So, I tried to get the colors fixed numerous times by another artist there because I liked his style and color work. I saw him for a consultation where he seemed confident he could do it. Then, I made an appointment and only 2 hours before the appointment, he canceled due to "illness." I tried to get another appointment with him very soon after that because I was leaving Prague, but he was "booked" and couldn't do it. No one cared that I needed this done and they didn't offer any other option than to "contact me when someone canceled." They never did. I then tried to make another appointment with this artist in August (long story short, my plans changed and it turned out I could get it done way later), but he told me he was "no longer comfortable doing it." I'm very disappointed not only with my tattoo, but with this establishment. They have poor customer service and don't care about you after you get your tattoo done and have paid. They are not friendly and they are not understanding about any concerns or issues you have. I would not recommend them to anyone.

They offered to size the ring for us but we really didn't have time to wait since we were leaving the country early the next morning. After arriving home, my wife said she made a mistake not buying the ring and having it sized back home. My mistake was not getting a business card. I looked for the store on Yelp and was able to find Balance online and contacted them both by email and then by phone. They remembered my wife and I and we were able to work out a deal on the ring and have it shipped to the USA (5240 miles away). Thanks to Alexander and Irina (and the rest of the staff) I was able to get the ring in time for a surprise anniversary gift. I really appreciated their professionalism and patience with translating my emails. I'd definitely recommend Balance to anyone looking for jewelry.
