Good shit. Awesome guides, thrilling rapids, and stunning views. An unforgettable adventure! ‍

WOW WOW WOW. There are not enough ways to express how awesome this entire trip was. Audrey (the guide who's raft I stayed on), Dustin (the Team Leader), Mcclure, and Roman will forever get my praise for how they exceeded my expectations. This was my first time going both whitewater rafting and camping, and the entire time I felt taken care of, safe, and catered to in ways I hadn't even expected. I don't know how many times I shouted "Team Audrey!" as she expertly navigated difficult rapids. Roman was the guide responsible for riding ahead of us with all our cargo and setting up camp, and every time I was more and more impressed with the breathtaking set up he did with all of our tents, eating areas, and shaded spots. Dustin was a worthy team leader who made sure our trip went smoothly and on time, and was awesome to talk to and joke around with. And McClure was a thorough teacher and guide who is clearly passionate about what he does! I've noticed some reviews of people complaining about things out of Tributary's control like the bathroom quality or the heat or the other parties that would camp nearby. And even though that is technically not Tributary's juriscdiction, I still felt as if the four guides with us did everything they could to anticipate these problems and lessen their impact on our trip. Like they had a handwashing station for us, and had plenty of shaded areas for us to rest in. Not to mention they really took care of the quality of food we ate, giving gluten free and healthy options as well as snacks and drinks for us. Audrey, Dustin, Roman, and Mcclure. You four have a forever client in me. It is because of you guys I have such memorable stories that I will be telling until I am old. I can not thank you guys enough.

The grand finale--the last night and the final concert--was pure magic!

The Deschutes River has a way of pulling you in -- its steady roar in the distance, sunlight dancing on whitecaps. Early on, Audrey pointed out an osprey circling for its next meal, a reminder that we're just guests here. But if you're not on this river with Audrey, Dustin, McClure, and Roman, you're missing out on the kind of trip people tell around campfires for years. For three days, the river was our road. McClure, part comedian and part river whisperer, guided us through rapids with skill and joy. Dustin, our unflappable leader, kept things running smoother than the calm stretches between whitewater, all while swapping campfire stories. Audrey's rare blend of technical mastery and pure love for the river made each mile come alive. And Roman? A magician -- transforming empty shoreline into shaded, breezy camps that felt like wilderness resorts. They nailed every detail: cool drinks the moment we stepped ashore, thoughtful gluten-free and vegetarian meals, shaded rest spots in the heat. Crowds, bad weather, campsite hassles? Nonexistent. I left with stories I'll tell until I'm old. Round two is already booked. If you can get this crew, do it -- you'll thank me later.

I am blown away with the experience Tributary created for us this weekend! We had a wedding just as rafting season ended and were hoping to give our guests the opportunity to get out on the river. Thanks to Tributary, 60+ people were able to raft and kayak some of the American River the morning of the wedding! They provided payment links and even tweaked the tour times around plan, their guides were awesome - they read the vibes of the boats guests to keep it interesting on the flats, or less scary for some of our younger guests (4+). I'll forever be grateful that our friends & fam got this adventure in before our wedding, and it wouldn't have been possible without Tributary making it happen.

Went on level 3 and was sooo much fun through Satan Cesspool and Hospital Bar... ironically we had a med student with us! We had Phil, prob the only Irish tour guide. He was so fun to talk with during the raft and very experienced & knowledgeable. We got to do 360s, rock bouncing, but no flips (thankfully) Next time we'll try level 4!

We had an awesome time on our white water rafting trip this summer. The cabins, riverside lunches, steak dinners, making new friends, and two amazing days of rafting the South Fork American river. Getting to experience the Tunnel Chute was epic!! AJ was a great guide with tons of river history to share over the two days on the water. We are Looking forward to trying another Tributary rafting trip.

Had a great time rafting down the south Fork American River Lower Gorge Run. The kids ages 11 and 14 loved the rapids and swimming in the river. Our expert guide, Abigail took good care of us and led us down the river safely. I highly recommend this experience. Will definitely be back again!

Ask the Community - Tributary Whitewater Tours

Looking for a 1/2 day, guided, gentle rafting trip for 4 adults & a service dog. Mon 24 July. I rafted as a child; my relatives have not rafted but do dive. I anticipate getting wet but don't want to be thrown overboard. What do you offer?

HI, Thanks for reaching out, we are unable to accommodate service dogs on our commercial trips. We would suggest contacting ETC (Environmental Traveling Companions) for a rafting trip as they specialize in these types of accommodations.…

My sister, nephew and I wanted to do Middle Fork this year and I remember it being an adrenaline rush and challenging but so fun- We picked a Tuesday so it was not crowded, but when it ended up being just the three of us in the raft with Juli, I was a little nervous, remembering how intimidating tunnel chute was- and I didn't have the security of a full raft of people to weigh down the raft and help paddle to build up speed. This just goes to show you how important a seasoned veteran rafting guide is Juli was amazing. He gave clear instructions, he was very calm, and he managed the raft like a pro. No no flipping over and no one fell out. So exciting! Now I want to go to Costa Rica and look up Whitewater excitement there and request Juli. Hope to do this at least one more time this year. If I lived closer, I would go more often. Ps- I read some people complaining that you have to pitch in to carry the raft from the water up to the trucks and from the trucks down to the water, I've only been with one company that did not ask you to do that. All the rest have always had the rafters help out in pitch-in.

Even the stop for lunch was incredibly delicious and refreshing ! Devin our guide was awesome, he makes you feel at ease because of his knowledge, attention to detail and his humor! We did a two day south fork trip, with a stop for the night on the river bank. Our guide Cryin' Bryan(just kidding Brian!!) and bonus gear guy Gator, were absolutely amazing. The were kind, helpful, had the best stories and cooked the best food. We did 21 miles of river over two days and it was unbelievable. Things we learned on this trip... -Gator taught me how to make a camping mocha(more like chocolate coffee when I made it!) with instant cocoa mix, coffee, creamer and water. -A tortilla wrap with PB&J and trail mix is the thing of dreams. -The front right seat of the raft is the 'hot' seat(or wet seat) and you will get hammered repeatedly. Haha. -Camping on the side of the river is magic. Pure. Magic. -Hospital bar has its name for a reason. -Composting toilets in the woods smell like a gerbil cage. -Brian's love of Star Wars and pineapple fried rice lead me to believe we could be real life friends. -You can make lifelong friends out of strangers you meet on a rafting trip. The meals they provided were amazing. Well beyond normal camping fare. For sure a perk with the trip. With things like chicken salad pitas, pancakes, sandwich wraps and fajitas, we were never hungry. We upgraded to the canvas tent they have at the campground for the first night and it was wonderful. The little front porch and getting to hear the river while we slept was magic. The newly upgraded bathrooms were probably the nicest I've seen at a rustic camp ground. The shower stalls are outside, but each one has a locking door with the shower stall and a little changing area with hooks and a bench(and the rain shower heads were great, but know the water pressure isn't the hardest, but not the worst either). When the 'Boss Man' picked us up from the river on the last day, it was really neat to get to chat with him. He asked for anything we think would add to the trip, and the only thing we can think of would be to bring along a yard game for the overnight trips, like ladder-ball or something for on the river. But there is absolutely nothing we would change. Enjoy my million pictures. I really couldn't pick and choose what to show, so I showed it all! We can't wait to go back!!
