History

Established in 1955.

On May 17, 1955, vision, hard work and determination paid off when telephone service finally became a reality to remote areas of Beaufort, Hyde and Washington Counties in eastern North Carolina. TriCounty Telecom now serves over 2,600 access lines, provides long distance service, broadband access, web hosting and design and Video over a 100% Fiber-to-the-Premise network.

Meet the Manager: Gregory C.

Mr. Greg Coltrain has been the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of TriCounty Telecom, Inc. since January 2011 and serves as its Executive Director of TriCounty Telephone Foundation. Mr. Coltrain began his career at TriCounty Telecom as the Information Systems Coordinator in 1997. He served as an Operations Manager of TriCounty Telecom, Inc., overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company. He serves on the Beaufort County Community College Foundation Board of Directors, The Access-On Board of Directors and The Carolina Virginias Telephone Membership Association Board of Directors. He holds a Pre-Liberal Arts degree from Beaufort County Community College in Business. He has continued his education in telecommunications technologies through various seminars and workshops.
