The owner, Pete, was very accommodating and professional about the whole situation and scheduled my drives quickly and efficiently. They give you full driving lessons here, starting with parking strategies and real-world applications of what will be on the driving test at the DMV. Very responsive any time I've reached out for help and we've had no issue what so ever scheduling behind the wheel training or make up classes. Make ups can be done either at a couple of different time slots during the week with a self-taught option, or you can wait for that day's class to be retaught in another session and the student can sit in on it. Per SOS rules, driving sessions have to be 2 weeks apart minimum and students have to hold their permits for 9 months, so really there's plenty of time to get drives in unless you have a super inflexible, jam packed schedule. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience - far more convenient than doing it over the summer through the school for my mid spring term bday son and it didn't take up a timeslot in his school day either. Plus, again, the bonus of law enforcement officers as instructors. Win win win all the way around! Highly recommend.

In the classroom portion of the class, the instructor was eating during class on a regular basis, and one time brought her puppy and put him in a separate room, where it was apparently not happy, and it proceeded to disturb the class the whole time. When it was time to take the written test, they offered the students "extra credit" points if their parents left a 5 star review for City Express. Hence the claim that they are buying the great reviews. After getting the permit, the school does not want to start the behind the wheel portion of the training until the child had 25hrs of driving experience with their parents. Which effectively means that I was teaching her how to drive, and the school was teaching her how to pass the test. They did nothing at all to teach them how to parallel park, but made sure they know how to park on a hill(which, in the age of automatic transmissions, is useless). So in summary I feel like I paid City Xpress almost $500 to buy my child a drivers license, that I had to train her for. I would not recommend this school.

Tri-county is awful. The instructors are extremely rude and do not give very constructive…read morecriticism, especially the instructors who teach behind-the-wheels. Charles was probably the worst, making several comments insinuating that women are not good drivers. I was also questioned every time why I had waited so long to do a behind-the-wheel after I took the class, as if this was a bad thing for some reason. One behind-the-wheel instructor cut my session short because I was wearing perfume and it gave her a "headache" and then she tried to make me do another behind-the-wheel, which I would have had to pay for of course. Also, when I tried to have them send my grade from the class, and only the class (not the behind-the-wheel portion), they refused to do so and were extremely rude about it, which was extremely frustrating because I had received a better grade in the class portion than in the behind-the-wheel. My school (Dundee-Crown) only required the grade from the class portion and ended up having to go talk to my counselor to explain everything and get the grade changed, which technically she wasn't really allowed to do. Maybe for some students the difference between an A and a B doesn't really matter, but for me it did because I was at the very top of my class. If you are looking for a decent drivers education course, I honestly suggest just taking the class through your school, which is much cheaper and at many schools it means that you don't have to take a driving test at the DMV.

When I later caught up to the car I noticed only one person in the vehicle. If this is how the owner or instructor drives, this is the last person to teach children how to drive safely. I got a few hand gestures from the driver and when I called the number on the vehicle sign it was answered by a man that was driving a car - the background noise was obvious. The same person who was driving unsafe earlier was now operating a phone while driving. I had reached my destination and called from a parked car.
