It was one of the best…read moreexperiences I've boarded, and I also loved the departure a week later after our cruise vacation. The luggage drop-off in front of the terminal building is so easy. No porter is needed. I have to drop it on the luggage conveyor belt. That's it! Done! Of course, I must ensure my luggage tags are on all my luggage. We were there at around 12:30 pm. No waiting for boarding at all. We are at the cruise ship's buffet 30 minutes later. This is one of the best boarding experiences I have had with cruise terminals. The departed are also very smooth. We had our breakfast buffet and saw our luggage arrive at the port, and started moving by the forklift. The luggage was just ready at the same time when we got there. Perfect timing! I hope the terminal can improve transportation from/to the airport or train station. It is a mess. I hope they can arrange a shuttle bus for the passengers who have to go to the airport or train station. They don't have enough taxis.

If it happens that you forget to validate your ticket, ask for the 'controllore' in the train so he can validate the ticket for you!

There is a newspapers stand which is tiny and not well stocked (especially when it comes to NON italian items). The bar is rather large, has both plenty indoor seating as well as quite a bit outdoor options. The waiting area is old and "rustic". Though it is periodically cleaned, it just seems oddly funky. The ticket counters operate between 5:30 and 20:00 and, with a bit of luck, the person servicing you will be able to understand english. There also are 2 self-service ticket stand, which you can use with the English option, both to purchase your ticket and to review timetables. Unless there is a major change, normally the trains heading towards Udine leaves from track 1, the ones heading towards Venice, Milan and (mostly) everywhere else, leaves from track 2. MAKE SURE ypu stamp your ticket on those yellow looking stamping machines. If they are all out, track down the CONTROLLORE and inform them, otherwise ypu may have to end up paying a stiff fine!

Granted, the trains are few and far between, but it beats having to get off in pordenone and get on a bus or have to find someone to come pick you up in a car. The train station has a tiny waiting area with wodden seats (rustic is how i would define it). The operating hours of the ticket counters are the standards 5:30 to 20:00. The bar has a great coffe, specially the summer time cold/semi frozen version (caffè shakerato). There is a newspapers stand but beware hardly anything for non - italian speaking individuals. Just as mentioned for the Pordenone railway station, on track 1 the trains head towards Udine, on track 2 (or 3 at times) the trains head towards Venice and Milan (as well as most anywhere else)

The New International Limo in Venice was the perfect conclusion to our beautiful time in this…read morelovely city. I'd like to preface with sharing our start in Venice...what appeared to be a quick jump on a people mover and 170 meter walk from Piazelle Roma on Google Maps was totally incorrect. It became over 700 meters with at least 8-10 footbridges! Thankfully we are both fully mobile and could manage our heavy luggage but it is a sore memory and still sore arms 4 days later that we hope our review spares other visitors. New International Limo set up a Water Taxi for our return to catch our train that delivered us directly from just near our hotel to Piazelle Roma and our awaiting chauffeur Gabrielle. Gabrielle quickly grabbed our bags from the Water Taxi and whisked us to the beautiful black Mercedes van awaiting. It was clean and new. Gabrielle delivered us safely to the train station for the next leg of our adventure safely and with no stress. My lesson learned is three-fold. Don't trust google maps in countries outside the US and Canada until after you are settled and have an idea of exactly where you or hire an expert like The New Inetrnational Limo. Venice is lovely and beautiful but not meant for anyone elderly or overweight with mobility or health issues. It is worth every penny to call The New International Limo from the beginning to end of any visit in Italy. They are experts and can handle everything from your water taxis to car services to your trains and lodging. We also learned they offer amazing tours and wished our stay was not so short. When we return Marina Brugaro and her team will be our very first call or email.
