Edit: trim offered to redo some of the backyard. Two addtl pictures. Looks good and appreciate their willingness to finish the job. Backyard service only was very bad. This company does not show up. First scheduled day they no call no showed. I had to reach out multiple times to get that they weren't coming, but would be back Friday. Same thing happened Friday but they said maybe Saturday. I said it had to be Saturday or to just not come. Saturday obviously happened again. They begged for another chance and said they had another crew they could send. I allowed them one more chance. Wednesday rolls around and I haven't heard anything. I again have to be the one to reach out and they tell me they'll be there for sure on Friday. Nope. No call no show again. Maybe they're just over extending themselves and are great once they're there, but I'll never know and neither will you. Don't waste your time. read more

They were hired to install Sod and install irrigation and sprinklers. I was told that it would be a two day job. On the first day, only one person showed up and they showed up 5 hours late. 4 hours after that, two other people showed up and continued to work for 2 more hours. The next morning they showed up 3 hours late, and ran out of materials. They came back the following day while i was gone all day. I came home to a 30 pack of beers that was empty, with cans and trash all over my backyard patio. The 4th day they never showed up and never gave me an update, still leaving the job more than half way done. They "finished" the job on the 5th day, leaving half of the yard un touched. They never laid compost which is required by law, and it's now one week later and my grass is dead. No one would claim responsibility or offer any apologies. Do not hire them. You'll do a better job by watching 10 minutes on YouTube and doing it yourself. read more

I requested yelp provide businesses to quote an irrigation issue I've been having. I made contact with three businesses to complete quotes and scheduled time for each to meet and provide a quote. BJ's came first, Albert arrived about 10 minutes before I did at the house. When I arrived Alberto had already been checking the controller and assessing what is happening. We had a brief conversation of what is happening, he started looking around for underground leaks. He dug in several locations. I told him during this time "you are just providing a quote". He said yes that he needed to determine there were no underground leaks. Over the next hour he worked his way back to the valve controlling the drips, which was in the description of what is a main issue. After digging in several locations and replacing drip line emitters he determined there were no underground leaks, the valve wasn't opening all the way. To be fair, it was convoluted by the sound from the valve of water passing through and a minor amount of water moving out to the emitters. He had determined there wasn't a line broken and replaced a few emitters, he came to the conclusion it must be a valve issue. Keep in mind I had asked three time during the course of this, you are only providing a quote, correct? He answered yes that he needed to determine what the issues were. My ideas of quotes would be an overview of the project, then a quote of what the time involved to correct the issue would be, an educated guess of what could be the problem and a final amount this might cost to correct, with 15% of actual. I never received a quote, I did have a conversations with Jisselle, the main contact for scheduling and reporting. She was courteous and understanding in every communication. After Alberto had done more work than a quotes worth I realized I would be going with BJ's to complete the project, I just had my fingers crossed it wasn't going to be out of this world for cost. Alberto had to go to another job and we determined he would return the next day. This was not what I was thinking would happen, but I've been dealing with this issues for a couple months and needed it resolved. I communicated with the other two companies that I didn't need a quote from them. I told Jisselle after the test on the system it had not been corrected. She scheduled Alberto to come out the next day. He focused his attention on the drip valve. Replacing the solenoid, valve diaphragm and nothing seemed to change anything. Keep in mind all of these replacements were from inventory I already had on hand. Jisselle had told me the day before my invoice was at $105, then whatever would Need to be done after that would be added. I just wanted it fixed at this point, but after all the replacement parts and attempts at getting the valve to open and close on its own he could not get it corrected. I contacted Jesille and she returned to me a final invoice for $100 to make up for the inconvenience of it not being repaired. I maintained the issue was program or electrical related. That I needed someone with that experience, Jesille said Alberto advised it was the solenoid or valve. I mentioned that the solenoid had been replaced with a new one from what I had on hand and didn't feel as though that was the issue. Since this all transpired, I traded an open wire with one that appeared to be the cause, it worked. Then I Googled causes for nonstop running of the cycles. The answer was in too many programs overlapping starts. The system is now running well. read more

BJ landscaping contracted out a team to do my whole yard landscaping. The price was a bit high and the service was mediocre. The team left weeds all over my yard, tried to upsell me on an irrigation system, and left within an hour of showing up. I called BJ's and asked them to come back to get the rest of the weeds and they said they would look into their schedule to resend a team. I still haven't heard back and I don't expect to since they'll likely wait until the next month when they're scheduled to come back. Not a great operating model for running a business. read more

I have a landscape voucher through my insurance carrier, and they directed my request to BJ's Landscaping. I submitted the request on 3 June, very early in the morning. BJ's accepted the job (per my insurance company), but they had not contacted me by 11 June, even though I called half a dozen times. I had my insurance company cancel the service with BJ's and use a different provider who called me within 10 minutes. read more

after the rainy monsoon season, we had a huge amount of overgrown weeds in our front and backyard and BJs landscaping did a great job cleaning up the yard and making it look clean! in addition to the weed removal, they took away some construction debris we had in the yard and sprayed weed killer. our yard looks brand new! we requested an estimate via yelp, and they were able to come look at our yard in person the same day, gave the estimate within 2 days, and scheduled our appointment for the next week. it all happened very quickly and easily, they were very responsive to questions and we were able to pay our bill using a credit card after the work was done. definitely recommend using their services! read more

1) Was charged double for 1st time service for additional work. Only worked 40 minutes for $150and never made over charge right. 2) Was never asked about over seeding for winter lawn so we asked 2 weeks ago and was told the owner would get back to us. We still have yet to hear from the owner about this. 3) Was told irrigation would be addressed as part of initial visit. Found out only sprinkler timer is checked as part of service. Sprinkler timer was still too much as flooding in areas continued. 4) Had to hire an outside company to check for irrigation leak. Licensed contractor found that there was 3 broken sprinkler heads and sprinkler timer was found to be set for an aggressive amount of time. 5) Was told all weeds larger than a hand would be pulled and then area sprayed. I personally pulled the weeds. I feel their front desk and the owner has a definite lack of communication. I also believe they should review what they send their clients in writing and what service they actually perform. read more

Zero stars . We were told our work order was received and understood this morning . After waiting many hours - I called to check the status of the work order . The front desk ( jisselle ) kept saying the wrong address . I corrected her 3 times . She places me on hold . Comes back and says the work order was completed yesterday. She said she would call me back within 5 minutes. I called back about 30 minutes later because she did not call back . She said Vin knows how to fix and he's on the line with his personal bank & can't be fully reached . She said she can only text him because he's busy . I waited 1.5 hours , and told her no one has called me . Then was told they can't do the job . I waited hours . I missed work . I was lied to . I wasted time . I wouldn't trust this company . I'm sure their "reviews " are mostly from staff , friends & family . If you are reading , keep searching . Very poor communication. You will find the right place somewhere else . read more

I called BJ's Landscaping because I was having some issues with some of my sprinklers constantly running. I also had a leak in one of the pipes in my backyard. Bj's Landscaping was able to get someone to my house that afternoon to get me a quote. Within 30 minutes I had the quote and they told me someone could come out the next day to get the repairs done. Michael did such a great job repairing everything. He had to dig some holes but made sure they were filled back in and cleaned up the landscaping around where he was working. He also went above and beyond by checking all of my sprinklers to make sure they were working properly (not just the ones I asked about). He changed out the heads where needed, checked my drip lines on my trees and plants to ensure they were working as they should. He even reprogrammed my timer box because I was over watering my grass and trees. Who does not appreciate saving on their water bill? Bj's is a top notch company and I really did appreciate the timeliness, attention to detail, and the customer service that I received. read more

I think the four 5-Star reviews were submitted by family or friends because these guys can't get their act together. I submitted a request for a quote on Yelp 10/7. Spoke to one of their reps a day or so after and even sent them multiple photos so they could give me an estimate. Never got a quote BUT they texted me a MONTH LATER wanting to know if I was still interested. Then two weeks ago I got a call from them- TWICE- again asking if I was still interested- F*** NO! I had already hired someone else and he had already done the work. Told them to stop calling me. The today 11/26 I get this via Yelp: "Hi, this is Mari. I see we weren't able to get you on the schedule for your past request. Are you looking for a quotation for a yard or tree service? Let me know and I'll be more than happy to assist." WTF? Are they drinking the Weed Killer? They clearly have lost their minds. And oh, BTW this is the SECOND time I have gone through this with them. My first encounter with them was July and same crap- no quote then calling me over a month later wanting to know if I am interested. At least that timne they did not keep contacting me. read more

I hired this company to come out to my house the morning before a birthday party. The quote was reasonable and the representative I spoke with was very kind. When it came to the service actually being done, the invite said 7am but they didn't get there until 9:30am, which is fine I understand things happen. The gentleman let me know they had to run to Home Depot to get something for the weed eater. I offered them to use ours but they declined. He said they would be back in 30 minutes tops. After about an hour I tried calling and texting but got no answer. I was finally able to get ahold of someone at 1130am and they said they stopped for lunch and then they would be on their way. Unfortunately they never came back. I was extremely disappointed because I could have hired another company to get the service done on time. I initially agreed to the monthly service going forward when I scheduled the service, but I ended up cancelling any services going forward. When I called to let the company know what happened they were very kind and offered to have another team come out, however I don't want that happening again. read more
