Our septic had backed up and overflowed and after handling all the damage control we needed someone to come and pump. Now, a little background here. I have experience working with contractors and handymen on 2 continents, and I have been fighting the Yelp battle for good service for over a year now, whilst I tried to get my house ready to sell. Also, keep in mind that this was the last week of the year, and most businesses were shutdown for the holidays. That being said, and this is going to sound funny, but it was the people who pumped my septic who gave me the best customer service I've ever received. No joke. Andrea (who handles the appointments over the phone) was warm, personable, and SO very considerate. She said they were pretty well booked, but when I explained my emergency, she somehow managed to fit me in just before the weekend! She kept me updated every step of the way. When Austin (hope I got his name right) arrived, he was the ideal of what everyone who hires a contractor hopes arrives at their home. He was on time, courteous, professional, friendly. He dug up the holes without any complaint. (Which wasn't easy, as I was his fourth customer of the day, and there were roots like you wouldn't believe.) And he chatted with me like we were old friends while he took extra time to rinse out the effluent tank. They really are just a small family, business, I found out, who own the truck and decided to go into this line of work after their own septic 'refunded' on them. TLDR: All in all, DFW Septic did everything right, and I only wish they were in a different line of work, so I could call upon their services more often!

A third of my house's lights were not working, and the breaker was popping immediately after trying to turn on any light. So, I wouldn't have minded paying $250, if the "technician", not electrician (even thought this happened after a major storm) actually figured out the problem. He had the audacity to try and convince me I needed to replace every light fixture, light bulb, and light switch, in my living, dining, kitchen, pantry, and laundry room. He quoted me nearly $3,000. Not only that, I was to supply all the materials for this, so that 3,000 was just labor, I was expected to go out and get every thing they needed. I literally laughed, and he tried to explain why he knew it was the fixtures themselves and not the breaker or wiring, which his explanation was unintelligible. I know maybe as much as the average technician would when it comes to electric work, and his explanation was bogus. I tried to talk it through with him, I didnt want to outright say I dont believe you. So instead I said okay well thanks I wont be needing the service you quoted, I can replace all of the fixtures, and what not, myself. And he kind of just froze. He asked are you sure? I said yes, who do you think installed the chandelier, ceiling fan, and dimmers? Im not paying 3k for crossing wires, I have a ladder. Then I went into my hall closet, pulled out a pack of LED flush mounts, and said see I already have the kitchen covered. My husband was in the background trying not to laugh. Anyway, I continued the conversation asking to pay for today. Things only spiraled from here, his card reader did not work, so he had to call another technician and read my card numbers to him, then he said we would get a receipt in our e-mail, but I didnt. He said well I sent it, arent you blah blah at blah.com, and I was like no, thats not me. So he also sent a detailed receipt to a different customer, and I am in a state funded address protection program, meaning, not even my bank knows my real address. But lo and behold, some stranger has my real name and address, my phone number and probably part of my card number. Thanks Aaron's electrical service. Needless to say I got an actual electrician to come, the problem was what I thought to begin with, an arc fault, no lights needed to be changed, no switches or lightbulbs, and it cost less than Aaron's service fee. It was fixed in less than an hour. I should be refunded for the diagnosis because he was wrong, if I would have let them come in, and do the work he quoted, I would be out 3K and my lights still would not have worked.

Horrible company! Threatening a lien on my property and theft of service even though they didn't…read morefix my gas leak and I had to call another company! They left me without gas or hot water for 4 days! Thomas couldn't figure out what the problem was even though Atmos labeled all the leaks. He cut a hole in my wall and left! He said I needed "parts" but the warehouse was already closed. I called the office multiple times to get an update, cost of repairs etc and kept being told someone would call me back. I called another company who said that a permit was never pulled for my house and it has to be done when Atmos cuts you off, new company came out had me fixed within a hour because I didn't need "parts",the city inspector came out the same day too. After my repairs were completed by another company I got a quote from Hawkeye for 3 times the amount it actually cost to get fix! Be aware and stay away from this place. Please see my Google review for pics regarding my experience with this company! After my review on Google the owner is harassing me and took down my review and changed the price I owe him! Update he has now increased my amount due for the second time and called Fort Worth to try and press theft charges against me. Truly a horrible company and human. Stay away!
