I am posting this on behalf of my mother in law who recently moved to PA and does not have a Yelp account. She wanted to post this review on Facebook but unfortunately the salon does not allow reviews, only posts, and we didn't want this to be taken down for it will not paint them in a pretty light. My name is Dena and I recently had my hair done here just over a week ago. I went in looking for a balayage and was left with a horrific disaster. This is definitely the worst hair experience I've ever had and hopefully ever will have. When I came in with a picture of what I wanted I knew that it was a straightforward picture of a balayage and although I'll admit that I could have came in with a side profile to better accurately assess what I wanted I ended up with something so far off then when I asked for that the picture doesn't even matter. I met my stylist and she seems very nice but I noticed that as soon as she started to lift the color out of my hair that she was a little bit inexperienced. When I thought that she was only halfway done she actually began styling and blowing out my hair and I stopped her immediately and let her know that what I was left with was definitely not what I wanted she kind of brushed me off and said that she would fix it but the only thing that she did was darken my roots a little bit to blend it a little and went back to styling my hair although I protested and let her know that this was still absolutely not what I asked for. In fact it made it even worse as it was so blotchy you could see parts of orange peaking through everywhere. As you can see in the pictures what happened to me should never happen to someone. When I refused to pay for the terrible job they did on my hair they called the owner who was extremely passive aggressive and offered to have me come back for free which was okay but would you go back somewhere that left your hair looking like this and seriously tried to defend it? When I told him I wouldn't pay full price I would only pay for my roots and my haircut and my daughters hair he told me he was going to call the police right then and there! I told him go ahead. To make a long story short I paid what I felt was necessary and left. Now for my daughters hair. At the time I was so enthralled in my own situation I didn't even get a chance to really stop and look at the job they did on her hair. It was so unevenly toned that she had all these different shades of blonde on her head but that's not the real problem. Her hair was SO damaged and broken that I had to take her somewhere to see how to revive it. The stylist I went to for help touched her hair and her face cringed so hard I knew that it was worse than I thought. We can't use any heat on her hair for months. We have to get it toned professionally again. And even then it still might have to be cut shorter to get the dead hair off. They should have used Olaplex or something for how many levels they were lifting her hair but they didn't and they absolutely fried it. Update: reply to the business owner. Your 19 year old stylist was hysterical because she claimed that she had been sabotaged and set up by your staff to fail. I hugged her and held her to try and comfort her for I completely agreed with her. How about that portion of security footage? I don't know where you were educated but what my daughter was left with was anything but a balayage and through the drama that transpired I didn't get a chance to stop and truly examine the job you did. It was so unevenly toned and fried that when I took her to New York to try and get advice on how to fix it the entire salon was horrified. They're called Off 7th if you'd like to check them out and get an idea of what a real balayage looks like. As far as the payment issue If someone had destroyed your hair and tried to charge you full price, would you honestly pay? Of course I was upset and flipping out. I've boxed dyed my hair on and off for years; I understand there's a process. But the issue here is also the technique in which she tried to give me the balayage. Why was the bleach brought up so high? Why was my entire head dyed blond when the process for a balayage entails something completely different? Every negative review on this page has been met with passive aggression and pretty much end up with you making it like your unhappy clients are the ones with the problem when really it's your uneducated staff. I also think the fact that you have two other reviews claiming color issues also happened to them isn't a coincidence. I hope that your stylist will wise up and find another salon to call home and I hope your staff gets access to continue their color education. Great customer service. I was impressed with the consultation and receiving more then I anticipated.

I am really unhappy that I have to give this salon one star. At first, I thought the owners very nice. I had my hair highlighted and dyed. No towel was put around my neck, just one of the capes. After washing my hair with the purple dye, they let me sit at the sink with my hair dripping wet down the cape. (Remember, no towels.) After removing the cape, the front of my dress was soaking wet. I don't know many women who want to walk out of a salon with their breast area soaked...I also noticed that there was purple dye on the front of the dress. I had to go back to have my hair "fixed" as it wasn't highlighted properly at the top. (You could see what looked like a halo around the top of my head. Two different colors.,..noticed by myself, friends, and one of their employees when I went to bring them the dress) They did offer to try and have the stain removed by a cleaner. When I finally got the dress back, the stain was still there. I pointed it out and told them I would contact the woman who made the dress to see if there was anything that could be done to remove the dye. After finding out there wasn't, I contacted Trina's again. At that time they emailed me telling me that the cleaning was all they were going to do and they would not replace the dress or even help with shipping it back to the dressmaker in hopes she could maybe overdye it. This is the worst salon I have ever been to. Not only did they not dye my hair correctly (I've had to wear it in a ponytail until I could get it fixed) I am now sitting with a dress that I can't wear because of their mistake. Ladies, how many of you would wear a top that had a dye spot right on the the breast area? If they had done the right thing and helped at least get the dress refurbished so it could be worn, I wouldn't have written such a poor review and probably wouldn't have even mentioned the actual hair problem. But the right thing to do is correct what you did. And after weeks, they have refused. I would never recommend this salon to anyone! read more

I only got my hair done here once and it will be my last visit. My stylist was friendly but clearly was still learning. I asked for blue-black dye all over and a tiny trim (half an inch off at most). I ended up with a patchy dye job (lots of my light brown hair peeking through) with absolutely no blue tint whatsoever. Clearly not experienced cutting curly hair. She straightened it after cutting, I'm sure so she could check if the cut was even which it wasn't, and she kept trimming away (all while saying nothing about it). Ended up with at least two inches of hair gone. My hair is damaged and I work hard to maintain and grow it so I was not pleased. The shop was also incredibly messy. My stylist had to dig through several drawers and heaps of products and empty boxes everywhere to find detangler. I paid entirely too much for services here. $135 wasted. read more

My wife recently got her hair dyed. She wanted a simple dye with 3 colors. A vivid teal, black and blonde. She wanted thick streaks going straight down. Blonde streaks, black streaks and teal streaks. Instead, she got blonde on the top, like it was the original color and they didnt dye the roots... the teal starts off blond at the top, turns turns onto green and then ends up kind of Teal/bluish at the bottom. She has a ring of blonde at the top!!! What the hell. My wife hasnt got a mean bone in her body and wouldnt say anything. Also, the black is dark brown and not even black. Im a man, and i wouldnt recommend this place. 140.00 down the drain. read more

Okay guys, I've been to Trina's before in the past and have always been super impressed by what Taylor could do for my hair, but my most recent visit has totally blown me away!! My hair was nearly black with blue on the ends and I asked them to make me gray and oh my god I'm obsessed with it!! Taylor stayed two hours after they closed to finish my hair for me too, and if that's not dedication I don't know what is. Trina and her husband are also so sweet and go out of their way to talk to you and offer you drinks or anything to make you more comfortable. My hair took a long time to do because silver is a huge process, and I can't thank them enough for dedicating so much of their time just for me. I can't wait for my next visit! And side note, the prices are more than affordable especially for the time you spend there and everything they do for your hair. My hair is so soft and shiny even after the process of going gray, which is literally magic. It's honestly the most reasonably priced salon I've ever been to. Oh and Taylor's cuts are PERFECT. I'm super picky with my hair and I've never been disappointed with her. They spend so much time with you and they won't let you leave if you aren't happy with your hair so if you're looking for a place that's dedicated to making their clients look and feel beautiful, then this is the place for you! I can't say enough good things about Trina's, just go and see for yourself and have them work their magic on your hair too! read more
