Besides this visit, I have not been to a professional for at least 5 years. The woman who did my hair was very nice but something about the shop made me very uncomfortable (nothing was wrong with the place, idk if I was feeling claustrophobic or something? It was just hard to relax for me personally). I brought reference photos for the color I wanted (a medium shade, cool-toned purple) I made it very clear when I walked into the appointment that I understood if the color wasn't possible as I still had quite a bit of aqua blue throughout my hair from a particularly bad botch job I had done at home (I'm ashamed to confirm it was splat). I was very open to having a conversation about other color options if what I wanted wasn't doable within my budget and said as much during our conversation. I was told it was doable and then waited while she searched and searched for the purple hair dye. It wasn't until she was halfway through applying it that she says "well, some of the blue might show though, and there might be a little green, but I still think it'll look really good!" I was a little worried at that but thought as long as everything was kind of blended it would be ok. My hair was already a bit damaged (probably needed 1/2 an in to an inch trimmed after the dye when I walked in which, again was discussed prior and she had felt the damage herself). While my hair was processing, she said she needed to go do something in another room which was totally fine with me, but she left me sitting for 20 minutes longer than what she had told me I should and didn't address the fact that I was left to over process with already damaged hair. When it was time for the cut I told her I didn't want her to take off anymore than was necessary but I needed her to chop all the dead away (understanding she would have to chop a decent amount) so my hair could start getting back to healthy, I also said I wanted face-framing layers. When I left the salon, the color was extremely dark in comparison to the samples I had shown. The color was also extremely patchy as my roots were an entirely different color from the rest of my hair and there were some pretty severe blue and green splotches all throughout. She did not give me any layers, let alone face framing ones, and worst she didn't chop off all the dead. I'm assuming from the over processing, I had at least another 2 inches of damage from when I had walked in and she didn't bother to chop off more than 1/2 an in of my hair. To her credit, she did ask if I was pleased and I lied to her. I don't often lie but I have really bad social anxiety and the idea of telling a nice lady that my hair was not only nothing like what I wanted but is kind of destroyed would have literally sent me into a panic attack and I was already trying not to have a breakdown about my hair. I said it was great, paid, and literally took pictures on their porch tearing up to send to my husband. I, of course, could not afford to go to another salon (still haven't been able to). After the first few washes , realizing it wasn't really lightening, I bought color oops from rite aid which of course caused more damage but I didn't know what to do, I hated my own hair so much. I got a majority of the color out, used a color depositing conditioner, and gave myself yet another hack job. The cut wasn't great (infact it was absolutely terrible as I had never had to cut off that much in one go and I butchered it). My hair is still recovering from this (it's finally starting to feel more like hair than straw and it's actually curling again...somewhat at least). My cut is still absolutely horrible as my "layers", if you can even call what I did to my hair that, are choppy and uneven and all over the place and my hair is just constantly a frizzy, poofy, mess. For a long time I wasn't going to leave a review, especially because I did tell the stylist I was pleased which is my fault and I should have been honest, but I am still dealing with the effects all of this caused on my hair all this time later and it was not my fault that I was not fully warned about how the color would interact with my hair before being applied, nor that I was left so long before being rinsed, and I'm honestly confused as to how she could have thought she cut off my dead ends when my hair felt like a poorly cared-for 20 year old Barbie doll's would. I do not mean this to be hurtful or rude but this has been bothering me for quite some time.

My name is Dena and I recently had my hair done here just over a week ago. I went in looking for a balayage and was left with a horrific disaster. This is definitely the worst hair experience I've ever had and hopefully ever will have. When I came in with a picture of what I wanted I knew that it was a straightforward picture of a balayage and although I'll admit that I could have came in with a side profile to better accurately assess what I wanted I ended up with something so far off then when I asked for that the picture doesn't even matter. I met my stylist and she seems very nice but I noticed that as soon as she started to lift the color out of my hair that she was a little bit inexperienced. When I thought that she was only halfway done she actually began styling and blowing out my hair and I stopped her immediately and let her know that what I was left with was definitely not what I wanted she kind of brushed me off and said that she would fix it but the only thing that she did was darken my roots a little bit to blend it a little and went back to styling my hair although I protested and let her know that this was still absolutely not what I asked for. In fact it made it even worse as it was so blotchy you could see parts of orange peaking through everywhere. As you can see in the pictures what happened to me should never happen to someone. When I refused to pay for the terrible job they did on my hair they called the owner who was extremely passive aggressive and offered to have me come back for free which was okay but would you go back somewhere that left your hair looking like this and seriously tried to defend it? When I told him I wouldn't pay full price I would only pay for my roots and my haircut and my daughters hair he told me he was going to call the police right then and there! I told him go ahead. To make a long story short I paid what I felt was necessary and left. Now for my daughters hair. At the time I was so enthralled in my own situation I didn't even get a chance to really stop and look at the job they did on her hair. It was so unevenly toned that she had all these different shades of blonde on her head but that's not the real problem. Her hair was SO damaged and broken that I had to take her somewhere to see how to revive it. The stylist I went to for help touched her hair and her face cringed so hard I knew that it was worse than I thought. We can't use any heat on her hair for months. We have to get it toned professionally again. And even then it still might have to be cut shorter to get the dead hair off. They should have used Olaplex or something for how many levels they were lifting her hair but they didn't and they absolutely fried it. Update: reply to the business owner. Your 19 year old stylist was hysterical because she claimed that she had been sabotaged and set up by your staff to fail. I hugged her and held her to try and comfort her for I completely agreed with her. How about that portion of security footage? I don't know where you were educated but what my daughter was left with was anything but a balayage and through the drama that transpired I didn't get a chance to stop and truly examine the job you did. It was so unevenly toned and fried that when I took her to New York to try and get advice on how to fix it the entire salon was horrified. They're called Off 7th if you'd like to check them out and get an idea of what a real balayage looks like. As far as the payment issue If someone had destroyed your hair and tried to charge you full price, would you honestly pay? Of course I was upset and flipping out. I've boxed dyed my hair on and off for years; I understand there's a process. But the issue here is also the technique in which she tried to give me the balayage. Why was the bleach brought up so high? Why was my entire head dyed blond when the process for a balayage entails something completely different? Every negative review on this page has been met with passive aggression and pretty much end up with you making it like your unhappy clients are the ones with the problem when really it's your uneducated staff. I also think the fact that you have two other reviews claiming color issues also happened to them isn't a coincidence. I hope that your stylist will wise up and find another salon to call home and I hope your staff gets access to continue their color education. Thank you for going on the attack and showing your true colors.
