Our pediatrician said that sounded accurate, so no big deal. 6-7 weeks later I finally get a call from them. (My daughter had been in the hospital 28 days so I hadn't been too concerned about them not contacting me) I took my daughter in for the evaluation. She still wasn't feeling great, from just being discharged so we didn't accomplish a lot the first day. Amy was supposed to call/text me for the following weeks appointment, after she moved some things around. That was a month ago. Still haven't heard anything from her/them.

Unfortunately, this facility has built -- and continues to uphold -- a troubling reputation. Behind closed bathroom doors, where there are no cameras, reports of abusive behavior toward children have surfaced. Their structure and system seem to allow, even encourage, these situations. Even more alarming, there have been documented instances of children literally being lost -- one reportedly wandered outside the building and toward traffic. Don't just take my word for it. Search local parenting and community groups on social media, where countless mothers and families have shared their experiences and concerns. I had to tell a director how to calm and redirect a child with ADHD when Google could give the answer. They seemed to have issues with keeping staff, and from my experience, the staff were treated not to labor board standards. The owner literally told me she has a volitile personality. She asked me if I knew about one of the directors' medical condition and told me about it before I could answer, violating the HIPPA act. I recorded the conversation after seeing so much from old employees and parents about this place. I called CPS after walking into my grandchild being placed on display in front of the rest of the class for punishment. I called CPS, and the owner said she was kicking my children out because I called CPS. "Her words, recorded." Then, when I asked for all the kids' records, they withheld several incident reports. They tested my granddaughter for Pre-schoool and kindergarten, and I requested those records. They never responded or gave them to me. I'll be contacting the board of education and the state along with filing another complaint with the licensing department.. Because the owner runs an LLC, she thinks she doesn't have to follow and code of ethics. Every time I encountered the owner, she just told me how cute I was. Inappropriate conduct, in my opinion, it was strange. I could write a book about my experience. I know now, it's not about the bling they offer. It's about how they care for children. I will never look to another Youth Academy for proper, intelligent care for children. I found it to be an unknowledgable yell house.

Our 8 year old son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder; and is non-verbal. So, over…read morethe last few years, we have taken him to multiple Speech Pathology providers. Unfortunately, they are all basically the same: An evaluation is conducted by a recently graduated SLP, weekly therapy appointments are scheduled, and then each week the therapist sits with our son and plays for an hour; while they scribble notes feverishly. In the meantime, our son has shown absolutely NO Progress! I am not saying, we have never had a good therapist, we have; but the good ones shortly move on to a better opportunity. These providers remind me of a "puppy mill" that on the face, look like they are offering genuine quality; but in fact, have no substance, and like the "puppy mill" are only interested in making profit! Too bad it is at the expense, of families with special needs children. Even worse, is the fact that these children, will never get this wasted time back; and for them, this time of early intervention is priceless! KidPro is a breath of fresh air, because they provide an intelligent, unique, and in my mind, obvious approach to helping children with ASD. Since the founders have a background in both Speech Pathology and ABA, it allows them to incorporate both together, as a mechanism to provide more productive therapy services. For example, ABA is used as the vehicle to facilitate the lesson or skills being taught; while Speech Pathology offers the elements necessary for use of his AAC and communication skills. Since these professionals oversee all aspects of your child's treatment plan; you can rest assured that the therapist is being supervised, and adheres to that plan. Our son, over the last few months, has shown progress in multiple areas including: brushing his teeth, washing hands, dressing, and utilizing his AAC more frequently for communication. This progress has even been recognized by his school; and they are now working with KidPro to help improve issues that he faces at school. In summary, KidPro is far from being just a Speech Language Provider; they are able to help you address specific issues; that you as a parent, of a Special Needs Child, face on a daily basis.
