Drove 60+ miles from Downers Grove Il. to watch my son's school play this school's baseball team,…read morewhich by the time I arrived was already in the 4th inning, to be told I had to pay 5 dollars to get in! To think that a school would charge out of state visitors 5 dollars to watch a regular season baseball game considering the game was more than half way completed is ridiculous! For 2 dollars more I've could have gotten a ticket to a White Sox game. Too bad I'm a Cubs fan. I've paid to enter high school baseball games as well as other high school sporting events but never that much and never when a game is more than half way completed. I'm sure the proceeds go to the school or some city program but come on, I could see if I had arrived at game time, then ok I'll pay 5 dollars but having the nerve to try and charge me to enter a game that only lasts 7 innings? No thanks, I caught the next couple of innings standing in the parking lot and then went to my car and waited for the game to be over. Then I drove back 41 miles to my home in Chicago. Thank you to Andrean high school I really felt welcomed at your school, I drove 100+ miles from my job in Downers Grove to your school and then back home to not even be able to sit down and enjoy the game. I hope I never have to come back to this place ever again. At least we won though.

This is one of the largest schools in Indiana, as far as I recall them cramming down our throats. When I was there I think the enrollment was at something like 2,600 or 2,800. It's a tri-town school that takes students from Dyer, St. John and Schererville (that's me). And it's really not a bad school if you don't want it to be. I mean, sure, I hated half of high school... but who doesn't? Eh. Nothing new. I made awesome friends here, even if I don't talk to a lof of them anymore. I slacked for a decent chunk of my high school career (in some classes I didn't... notably my Computer Applications classes and my Arts & Crafts classes) when I really shouldn't have (can't really change that at this point) but not many of my teachers were classifable as 'bad'... some were certainly more boring than others, but there were some outstanding ones to balance it out. And even if I didn't do a lot of my homework (doh) I still did fairly well in class... so my teachers mostly just pressed me to try to do my homework. Which I kind of didn't... uh... but let's not talk about that, really. Yeah, looking back I really have to admit it wasn't half bad. I'd like to go back and see some of my teachers. If I ever decided to spawn (no thanks), I wouldn't really have an issue sending my kids here. It's really a pretty decent school in a nice area. I hated it while I was there, but looking back I'm pretty sure it was a decent education. Yeah. Sorry I slacked so much in C++, Wally! Science Olympiad 4 lyfe. Also, seriously, woman? That chalk piece you had me put in the NWI Art Show was fucking hideous and I hated it. HOORAY. But I do appreciate the placement in the extracurricular figure drawing classes.

This school may not be the right fit for everyone, speaking from our experience…read more While they offer a variety of engaging activities, I found them lacking in the fundamental resources and support that a school should have. Our preschooler had a short and unsuccessful period there, culminating in an unexpected request for us to leave with only a week's notice. This not only felt like a waste of time and resources but also made it challenging to find alternative care in the middle of the school year. Unfortunately, my child now experiences anxiety when entering any school setting, which is a significant concern. Additionally, I was disappointed to learn that deposits and school materials are non-refundable due to their "standard process." I also noticed that there were no requirements or assessments for the cohort my child was in, which raised concerns about the overall standards. The protocol and procedures for student removal are vague, almost nonexistent, creating mismatched expectations for us. We also felt that the school lacks diversity, as it seems to favor a specific type of student while not adequately addressing the emotional needs of the kids. Despite these challenges, I would recommend this school to parents of typical, average smart kids who are prepared to engage in the learning process. Parents should also be prepared for year-long donation requests via email, text, and automated phone calls, plus in average one week no school per school month. Overall, we're relieved to have moved on from this experience.
