A child who once loved school began asking heartbreaking questions like, "Am I a bad kid?" and saying, "My school hates me." No 7-year-old should leave a school feeling isolated, ashamed, or unwanted. What shocked us most was the lack of compassion and understanding for a young child still learning emotional regulation -- especially while also dealing with bullying issues that were repeatedly minimized. Rather than helping him grow through challenges, the environment made him feel labeled and defeated. Schools should nurture children emotionally, not damage their self-esteem and sense of safety. My son's confidence has plummeted. I'm not sure he will ever recover from this experience. I truly hope no other child leaves feeling the way my son did.

Over the years we've watched Jack grow not only academically but also personally, developing strong communication skills, responsibility, and a genuine love of learning. One of the most special opportunities recently was his participation in the MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) conference in New York. Seeing students represent their schools and countries on an international stage at such a young age speaks volumes about the quality of education and encouragement they receive at Montessori Institute of Broward. The leadership at the school is exceptional. Ms. E, the principal, creates a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and inspired. She truly leads with heart and vision. Jack's Grade 4 teacher, Ms. Kay, has also been outstanding--patient, dedicated, and deeply invested in her students' growth. It is definitely alternative, and a highly recommended camp experience for kids that attend traditional schools.
