The last 3 weeks was horrible. He didn't want to go school any more and running out of the classroom. 2 incidents happen where he was hurt. According to The teacher's report, he was slapped so hard that his nose bled and another incident where he his face was cut by a "plant". When we asked what happened, the answers were inconsistent. They have cameras and when we asked to review footage. We was told that it doesn't record. At this point, we didn't feel like it was a safe place for our child. Also most of the staff first language is not English. We needed help translating during our first teacher parent conference. We removed our child immediately. The whole thing was suspicious to us.

The previous owner (Edma) was very nice people and you had some really good teachers. Like any school, not all teachers are perfect but most genuinely care about the children. Fast forward to about mid-2016 and the previous owners sold the school to Miss Nancy ( http://tinyurl.com/abcwork ). Parents felt something changed but couldn't quite figure out WHAT changed. Well, we realized that we no longer saw Miss Edma there despite the school still having her certificates on the wall. If there's new ownership, why not let parents know that? Why the secrecy? It seems that the new ownership does not want it to be known for some reason. We believe it's because many parents do not like the new owner, based on conversations with other parents at the school. It's also frustrating when you're told to pay the weekly dues by a certain day but there's never someone at the front desk when you arrive. Then by WED, you're told that they'll waive the late fee as a courtesy. It wouldn't be a problem if a) There was someone at the desk to take our payment and b) The school would keep the credit card info on file so they could just charge it. We're told that's not possible to do but yet other schools will apparently do that for you just fine. Very frustrating when you just want to drop off your child and get to the office. Several parents have taken their children out of ABC and I don't doubt others will too. Hopefully the school will sort out their issues and work on their customer service skills before they lose more customers and teachers.

That is their generic response to ALL negative reviews. Check it out. My daughter was in the Kindergarten class of Ms. Brianna for 2 weeks. Snack time is "optional" (up to the teacher) and my daughter's class had the street sign "Galaxy Avenue" in the hallway pointing toward the classroom. So, in less than 2 weeks of my daughter being there, she had her hair pulled 3 times (by the same boy) and was intentionally kicked by a boy that was going down the slide too soon (right behind her). Now, I know these kind of things happen. Boys will be boys, right? The problem was that the teacher claimed to have seen none of this. No discipline was handed down to any of these kids after she was informed of their behavior either. My wife wrote a letter to the teacher explaining the situation (the letter has to be handed to an administrator as this is the only way that you can initiate contact with a teacher, by the way). The teacher called her over later that day to discuss it. In addition to the extreme defensiveness and bad attitude she displayed, she accused my daughter of "instigating" these situations. The same daughter that was very shy and intimidated by going to a new school AND that won a Character Education Award for best self control in her entire age group the year before! Sound like an "instigator" to you? She also made up a lie about my daughter handing another kid a pair of scissors and asked that she cut her hair (she has never had a haircut and is scared of getting one). So, we requested a sit down meeting. As we found out in short order at this meeting, there was no attempt to offer a solution to this issue as the teacher (and the 2 other administrators there) were only concerned about defending the teacher. No empathy whatsoever for the student, just "were right and you're wrong". We withdrew her after this meeting. They couldn't care less about disciplining bad behavior or admitting any kind of fault or expressing empathy toward the student. Stay away!
