To begin the director is very Condescending! My over all…read moreexperience while working at Baldwin Academy was disappointing due to a lack of professionalism and the inconsistency in how employees/ I was treated. Communication was often unclear, expectations changed without notice, and staff did not always feel supported or valued. While the academy frequently emphasized its commitment to children's safety and well being, my experience left me questioning whether those priorities were consistently reflected in practice. At times, it seemed that financial concerns took precedence over addressing issues that affected both staff and the overall environment. I hope Baldwin Academy takes employee feedback seriously and works toward creating a more supportive, transparent workplace that genuinely prioritizes both its staff and the children in its care.

Some staff members were rude and disrespectful, and I witnessed employees talking negatively about their coworkers behind their backs while acting friendly to them in person. In my experience, Mrs. Nycole, the principal, was also disrespectful and did not communicate with employees in a professional or respectful manner. I also felt that parents were sometimes told what they wanted to hear, even when it did not reflect a child's actual behavior. The overall atmosphere was so negative that I decided to leave before I had even been there a week. It was not a healthy work environment for me, and based on my experience, I would not recommend it to others.

He is becoming more confident and independent and enjoys going to school. The Sudbury philosophy is very different from what most people consider school should be. But, it makes the most sense! I encourage everyone to learn more about it and join us.

My daughter WAS enrolled into the school and absolutely hated it. She constantly told me about how…read morebehind she was because the staff never gave her the proper attention she needed. The school was unhygienic and the students were forced to clean every Tuesday and Thursday. All the "learning" in the school was just children being left to do whatever they wanted for six hours. Although I do believe in some freedom the children were not learning. Staff were also an issue, they chose to play with a select few of the little kids. My daughter often said how she felt brushed off and ignored. The school was mostly run by the students doing "school meeting" and "judicial committee" The judicial committee was full of little kids abusing their power of "writing people up" and the school meeting was often disorganized. Decisions and issues were tabled for weeks. The event that was the last straw for me was the way the school was run before an open house. As mentioned the children had to clean the school every Tuesday and Thursday however the day before an open house was what they called a "deep clean." Many of the jobs were shoved onto the older kids and the most disgusting ones included knocking cobwebs down from the ceiling or sweeping up the ant piles behind the couches. I was appalled my child was forced to do this during a school day and also the school was in such a condition. Although I do not agree with the public school method this "school" is a joke

We experienced rejection from one school after another and could easily tell that they feared their ratings and reputation might suffer by accepting a student with such significant academic challenges. Our family was so blessed and fortunate to find "Permission to Succeed." Led by exceptional professionals in the educational and psychological fields, all of whom demonstrate extraordinary empathy, social awareness and inclusivity, the school provided our child with an incredible level of individualized attention and care. As a result, not only was he able to catch up academically in just one year, but he was also accepted into one of the best private high schools in the county. They clearly recognize the potential in every child and know how to maximize it through modern educational methods that have proven highly effective. They gave our child "Permission to Succeed," and we will be forever grateful for that.
