I am a former employee for Trinity Solar. in my first three months at the company, I established myself as a quality, polished and consummate professional. I held the highest contract rate in the company very early on, so they relocated me from the top office in New York to a struggling one in Connecticut. After the relocation, my commute became an hour and 15 minutes to the Connecticut office, and it did not make sense. I requested being moved back to New York, and my regional manager kept me stuck in Connecticut refusing to help me in any way until New York's recruiting freeze was over. A month and a half later, it was over. The following morning, I made the formal request to go back, and the same morning I made that request, I was given an ultimatum by my boss in Connecticut to produce more for him or I was let go from the company. I resigned immediately. The company is scummy and twisted, and rewards people with no integrity, half a brain, and a struggling life in which they can't make a living any other way. They tell you you're the best we have, then neglect you if you have any integrity or backbone. They want nothing more than to keep production moving, cover their own butt, and screw over their employees if that's what helps them. Trinity Solar installed my panels in 2022, and since then I've had intermittent power outages. I only recently learned these outages were related to the solar installation. During the week of 4/6/26, I experienced repeated outages, which escalated to a complete loss of power on 4/10/26. Eversource came out immediately and confirmed the issue was not on their end. A licensed electrician then determined the problem was a faulty installation of the main solar system disconnect. I contacted SunStrong (formerly Sunnova) and was told this issue was covered under Trinity Solar's installation warranty. On 4/15/26, I spoke with a Trinity representative (TJ), who confirmed their system showed voltage issues and said service would contact me. I emphasized that I had no power. No one followed up. I later called again and spoke with Danielle, who said the issue would be escalated to corporate management in New Jersey--but again, no response or service visit. With my home without power, I had no choice but to pay my electrician out‑of‑pocket to replace the faulty disconnect and correct the wiring--work that should have been covered under warranty. The lack of urgency, communication, and accountability was extremely disappointing. Be sure to consider service response and warranty support carefully before choosing Trinity Solar. read more

I installed a 6 kW solar system with Trinity Solar, and the entire experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. The project took over 3 months to complete, far longer than promised. Communication throughout the process was terrible. My project manager, Spencer, rarely responded to calls or questions and showed little to no concern once the contract was signed. Appointment scheduling was a nightmare. At least four times, I was told a crew would show up on a specific day. I rearranged my schedule and even notified my tenants to provide access to other units--only to be canceled on at the last minute, or worse, no one showed up at all. Many times, I had to chase them just to find out what was going on. During installation, Trinity Solar replaced my electrical control panel. Later, when I had an electrician come to do additional work, he discovered serious safety issues: * The main power cable was loose and actually came out of the breaker during work * This left a live 120V high-voltage cable exposed, with no safe way to reconnect it * Further testing showed five additional circuit breakers with loose connections This was extremely dangerous and stressful, not just for me but for any electrician working on the system. At the beginning, Trinity Solar made many promises, but delivered very little. To make things worse, they ran the panel wiring directly across my roof in the most obvious and ugly way possible, clearly choosing the easiest route instead of a clean or professional installation. My roof now looks terrible. I asked them to fix this, and it's been over two months: * First appointment: canceled last minute * Second appointment: no-show * When I contacted Jessica (Service Coordinator), I was told the issue "belongs to another department" and that someone would contact me * That was weeks ago -- no one ever reached out All of this happened after full payment was made, which explains the complete lack of urgency or accountability. Now the system is technically running, but it is producing only 1.5 kW, which is less than 20% of what was promised. I paid $18,000, yet I'm still paying about 80% of my electricity bill. This feels misleading at best and a scam at worst. I have screenshots, photos, and documentation to support everything stated here and am happy to share them if needed. Follow up September 30 still no feedback from this company. Now it is 6 months. They will not respond to my emails. If you are looking for a Solar provider my suggestion is to avoid this company. I have not tried any others but I cannot imagine another company with this type of customer service, in this business or any other. I had a representative approach me in Home Depot and we arranged for a site visit. Salesman came and made a strong sales pitch. I decided to move forward with an install. The install was finished April 2 2025 and to date, August 28 2025 they have not been turned on. I have called their Concierge phone many, many times (they define concierge differently than most people) to get an update on the status and they tell me the same thing every time, "They will try to find out what the delay is and will escalate the issue to who ever they have to." I am told, "We will call you back in no more than a couple of days". Not once have they followed through. This is a disgraceful way to run a business. Quite honestly I believe they have lost my finance information, when the finance company they were using (Sunovo) went bankrupt. I don't believe that since my installation, they have activated one system in the past 5 months. .If they have lost some sort of paperwork they should just tell me. There cannot be anyone there that is competent to follow through. On August 14, I left a message to my assigned Concierge asking them to please remove the panels. At this point, I do want solar, but not from these them. I have done some further research into the company and have found that they have had many negative reviews I take responsibility for not doing more digging after I was approached but am hoping, that this post helps others. I would still put Solar on my roof so I need to get them to remove the panels before I can do that. They have not met the obligations of the agreement. I will bet that if I have my roofer remove them and drop them off at HQ in New Jersey, someone will pay attention. Also, Home Depot should look into companies that they let sell things from within their stories. NO MEANS NO! My family and I just went through the rigmarole again today with a Trinity Solar sales rep who came to our door with his pitch and gave us a difficult time when he got an answer he didn't like. The rep then went across the street to harass our neighbor just as they were trying to walk from their car to their front door. Every few months it's the same thing with these people, who often interrupt the work day (since WFH is a thing) and act aggressive and unfriendly when they can't push product. I understand the job is tough, but folks will seek solar online or elsewhere if they want to add panels to their house. We have a new roof and intend to keep it leak-free, so the answer remains NO. read more

Solar panel consultant came to our house and reviewed the trees and shading on our roof. We had been told by two other solar companies that too much shading to provide good solar panel coverage. The Trinity salesperson assured us they could install solar panels that would provide power to lower our overall electric bill (Eversource). Installation went smoothly. After six weeks of usage we received our first electric bill and we saved a whole $4.65 for the month. Solar panels produced 17 kWh of power for the month of December 2024. Our agreement stated they would produce an estimated 4700 kWh of power for the year. We are now paying our Eversource bill which has not gone any lower than prior to installing solar panels and paying $90 month to Sunnova for having the solar panels. Called Sunnova, who manages the solar panels, and they stated after one year we can review the amount of power produced and make "an adjustment" In the end, I feel taken advantage of and fooled into thinking our roof had enough clear view of the sun by an overzealous salesperson. Be very careful, if you have a roof with a southern exposure and no trees you would be fine. Unfortunately, once the panels are installed you are locked into a long-term contract with no recourse if the panels don't produce enough power. read more

It took them nine months to start installing, and about an hour after they started putting holes in the roof they hit me with "it is going to be 40 more weeks before we have the last part, and then the system would get turned on some time after that." And now that they've started the install I can't cancel. It is going to be a minimum of 1.5 years from signing the paperwork to getting it turned on, and if history is any indication it is probably going to be more like 2 years. As I understand it, this installer is only interested in Power Purchasing Agreements and not in any other type of installation. Their sales person is gentle, hangs out at the Home Depot in Bloomfield, perhaps looking for low income household heads for whom the tax credits have no intrinsic value and reselling the tax credits and property rights to Private Equity. Good for people with very low incomes, limited future prospects, and for not-for-profit organizations. read more

Nolan Kinne is our Trinity salesperson, and he was awesome through our whole experience. He even showed up on install day. We had a 30yr old roof, so we needed a new one and decided to do all of it through Trinity. The contract process was frustrating as another entity was involved, Sunnova. We had to take a tree down in order to get the roof done. At the time I was still in the construction industry and was very familiar with contracts and insurance clauses. The tree company, not Trinity, I had issues with. It seemed to drag out and, in the end, even though they sent me a COI they did not change their contract that stated I was responsible for any damage, they had no liability. I was not going to sign that. (Read your paperwork people) We ended up with a local guy and he was significantly less money. The change order process through Trinity/Sunnova was frustrating as I never knew if I had the correct contract total with the contract adds and deletions. The roofers did put an obnoxious drip edge on 3/4 of the house, not black like the front but when I reached out about it, they were there the next day and swapped it out. Sunnova is not our favorite, that's who we pay monthly. They are actually quite frustrating. Trinity Solar, however, has always consistently been great. Their service guys were awesome. Their electricians walked through the design plan for the conduit while I was there so we could all agree and its perfect. We went from a typical $550/month electric bill to $0/month. The cost of the solar and roof (as we could not afford them outright) is less than our electric bill was. I highly recommend solar and Nolan from Trinity Solar. For the Trinity person that monitors these reviews, my only suggestion would be a single point on contact. Having a team for the roof, a team for the solar both contingent on tree removal was very hard to navigate who I was supposed to reach out to and for what. I had solar panels installed by Trinity Solar on a brand-new roof. Four years and ten months later, I have a hole in my roof. I called for help, and they sent a technician out who told me a squirrel had caused the damage, and they don't cover that. I asked to talk to someone, and I got the runaround. I called a roofing company to make repairs, but I'm told only Trinity can remove the panels and there is a charge for that. They only care about selling you the product and don't care about servicing you after. Whatever you do, don't use Trinity for your solar needs. They are the worst. read more

I just recently contracted to have a Solar installation. It took two days to install the system of 29 panels. After the panel install I have to wait a month or so for the town to inspect the work and Eversource to add a reverse meter. My salesman is Alex and he is awesome. Trinity Solar is a Christian owned company. Their motto is God, people, and money. I will be updating in the years ahead. Handholding is important. Customer Service is expected from me. I was contacted by Trinity Solar around tax return time. I quickly explained I had my return going into construction projects around my house and did not have any money freed up for solar panels at that point. A week or two later I got a follow up call letting me know that the program they are offering with National Grid does not require any up front costs. I basically said - okay, come give me your presentation and I will think about it. The rep that came out (Jim) was very friendly and answered all my questions without hesitation. I ended up financing an 11 panel system through Trinity. They handled all of the permitting with the City of Pawtucket as stated. Within a few weeks the subcontractor came out and installed the panels. They were a crew of 3 friendly guys who did a good job and did not leave a mess (I believe the sub was NEC). It took a few weeks for National Grid to get out and power the system on but it is now up and running and producing power. I would so far definitely recommend Trinity Solar - if was a very easy pricewill have to update this review after a few of production so I can really see if this works as pitched. Update 10/19/18 - I have had the solar panels up and running for a few months now and so far everything has been as explained by the Trinity rep. I have received 2 credits on my electric bill thus far and I am excited to see the 6 month / 1 year results! No issues to report! Yay! read more

We have been trying to talk to someone at Trinity headquarters in New Jersey for almost a month with no luck. Our issue began in May when we had a leak in our roof and had 3 different roofing companies come out to give estimates. ALL 3 companies asked us when we got our solar panels installed and we told them in July of 2021, almost 3 years ago. They all stated that Trinity should never have put panels on the roof without advising us to replace the roof as there is moss on this shingles, they are cracking and many of the shingles have much of the gravel/sand component missing. We started our quest with the problem with Trinity at that time. Due to illness we were unable to follow up until now and have left 3 unreturned messages with Kayla. We have finally talked to someone on Monday 9/16 who was supposed to return our call today 9/20 but have not received a call yet. My wife did call and was again referred to another person and has left another message. The individual who came to sell us the system told us our roof was fine for installation, but he just took pictures. At this point we would never recommend Trinity to others. By reading some of the other reviews it just seems like Connecticut is the location with low ratings. Today, another roofing company recommended we contact the Attorney General which may be our only option. read more

We are having an absolutely horrific time with Trinity Solar. Signed up for solar in October 2023. We kept getting email "updates" telling us the project was delayed due to town permitting, etc. I finally called in June and informed the salesman that a family member in the same town, used another company for solar and was up and running in 6 weeks. I received a call the next day that the permits came through that very morning. Scheduled install of panels to find the permits had been issued 2 months prior. They came and installed the solar panels however didn't complete the install. Now, we are stuck with panels on our roof that are not even hooked up to anything. When asking for explanations, we have been given every excuse including requiring more permits and boxes on back order. The salesman has since been condescending and now won't return calls or emails. I called customer service who was supposed to have a manager call me. No call yet and it's been over a week. We are 2 months shy of this process taking a year and still nowhere close to up and running without any explanation, apology or anything else. An absolute disgrace and horrible business. I regret ever moving forward with Trinity Solar and would not recommend anyone do so. read more

started with a man lurking around my yard then standing next to where a package was just delivered. I have camera's so I see all. I opened the door to find him unmasked and trying to get close to me which bothered me. He talked about my neighbor, like I know what my neighbor is buying! The 1st words after hearing his speel, was me telling him to "PLEASE LEAVE" since I saw he trying to sell me. He ignored me. I said it again more firmly, which he ignored and again and I said I am calling the police which finally got him to move a bit. I SEARCHED ONLINE FOR THE COMPANY. AFTER agreeing to move forward, the salesman (Jon) OFFERED to change out our main panel as it was full, and also offered to reimburse for the removal of 2 trees we wanted taken down. Installation day arrived with VERY little contact leading up to it. We truly believed the project was on hold due to Corona Virus. Nope! The crew started mounting their equipment. No tree removal! No main panel! Apparently they werent needed!!! So.., I did what any reasonable homeowner would do. I threw the crew off my house. The Regional Manager (Mike) called me 2 days later. I explained what I was promised, that I expect everyone to uphold their promises, and finally that this is one helluva way to start a 20 yr relationship. A month later and Mike has yet to call me back. Now I have a partial system installed and holes through my roof and siding!! Consumer Beware!! read more

After having solar panels on our roof installed by Trinity going on 3 years now, we need shingles replacement. Prior to the installation we asked what if we need a new roof. They said no problem. We'll come out and take them off. Well, they have changed their policy and no longer do that UNLESS we have them replace the roof. I already got a contractor to do the shingle replacement. But before speaking with them, I had to go thru Sunnova which is the panel leasing company we pay our monthly fee to. So, I had to pay them $7,000 the fee to remove and replace the panels. They assigned the job to Trinity Solar out of Cheshire, CT and their response was that they don't do that anymore. Bear in mind that this process was started on Feb.7 or so. We got nothing but stonewalling from both companies to give them more time. We found 5 solar panel contractors in CT they could subcontract the job to them. And we've warned the Sunnova people our next step is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Connecticut Attorney General's Office. Worst company. tell you that "why pay $35 to have a $20 pizza delivered" then show you how they don't charge the fees but charge you $50 for the pizza. I been paying double electric bills to them and the utility company. The system has never worked right. I'm calling all the time for new service tickets or status on the open ones. They come out bad mouth the install leave and close the ticket not fixing everything. He I go another summer with 700-800 electric bills. I'm stuck don't be dumb like me. DO YOUR RESEARCH! I'll NEVER EVER get solar from them! Two years ago (Dec), I had consultant, Joe (met him in hartford home expo) came and said I can get solar. I told him that I have GIANT Oak tree next door at left and Oak trees at right that may block the sun. It's hard to know because its Winter and no leaves. I had plenty of sun in backyard. The sun goes from east to west, my house faced north. He said no problem, we have Sunrun do the analysis and we will design it. So he planned on putting 23 panels (whole on back of house and garage roof). He explained how things work and they are going to use Sunrun for billing and analysis, I signed contract on his iPad. Later he came back with contract, he said they think 15 on house is enough. I thought really? I resigned on his iPad. This is first time to sign on iPad and thought stupid me there should be a reading on contract. There wasn't I thought it must be just the lay out of panel on house contract. He sent me copy thru email. As I read it (freaking 15 pages long contract that wasn't on his iPad) and decided to cancel it. He came and begged me that he is trying to help me to save money. He told me Sunrun is very good company. I told him I plan to sell my house next year or so. He said transferable is easy process. He explained and said if you want to sell, my father that have solar and is a realtor can help you. I said ok what about trees? I can go to your neighbor and ask we could help to cut down some branches. Well stupid me let them go ahead to install in last Jan. Spring came, I noticed the GIANT Oak trees grew more branches and leaves. I told the consultant, he said he could help pay or if I get referral and he will give me money. I had it pruned and cut my other tree in my back yard. BIG mistake. I didn't get money from him. I get most of shades in backyard now. Only got full sun for an hour or two during two months. Last Sept the inverter shut down due to power outage for 10 second, never came back on. I didn't noticed it the next day it got error message on it, I called and they told me to turn off switches then turn back on 30 seconds later. I tried and it didn't work. On Tues it came back on, they came to check. A Trinity guy said I don't understand why you don't have panels out front or on garage. I agree with him. I got electric bill for three summer months which are over $100 a month!!!! So I called them about the electric bills and asked about putting panels on garage. Going back and forth, kept stalling til Dec they called me. The tech came to take a look at the left side panels and said that they will need to do something with them. Then in Jan of this year they were going to do the redesign. I have not heard from them for a while. I contacted them and I kept going in circles. Not getting any satisfied answer from them. In April, Sunrun ran the analysis and reduced the bill from 52 to 28 a month due to underproduction. I called them and emailed them that they should take the panels out of at left side of roof and put on garage. Its pointless to have that panels on the left of roof, just move over to garage. They said no its ok. It got some sun and the electric bills seem right. REALLY they had no idea how many people living in my house, barely use AC!!!! Last year two boys moved out, only two of us here. My electric bill this summer went up. My house is on market since Aug and NO ONE buy it NO offer at all!!!! The price of my house is very reasonable and is only large cape in this area. Right now they STILL are not going to redesign (not clear explained why), said that I signed contract that "you will never get the original production guarantee and provide your new lower rate (28 a month)". I AM PISSED THAT MY BEAUTIFUL HOUSE NEW ROOF BEING POKE AND DRILLED FOR NOTHING!!!!!! They should have put on garage cuz I don't care if the garage gets drilled. There is other cape down the road installed by SAME Trinity, all on roof of house AND garage!!!!!! They have trees too! I'm on disability and NO job (laid off) and still looking. Now I have to sell my house in CT. BTW my consultant's father is no longer a realtor and he gave my phone number (without my permission) to his other friend Andy who is Trinity consultant and a realtor also. Andy came to my house to talk about selling my house and he went out back and saw the panels. He took picture of it. I asked what's going on. He said it doesn't make sense, panel over there where there is large Oak tree leaning over. He asked what company you pay monthly payment to, I told him Sunrun. He said that company is very easy to work with. Thanks to you idiot consultant Joe. I went to get other realtor who is a good friend of my son cuz Andy told me the pricing for my house is so low ball. Made me thinks.... solar shouldn't be there.
