This said, I should have been advised, in advance, of your flat rate billing practices. I loyally work with a lot of contractors, as Tony can attest, and understand that practices vary greatly. My guard was down. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share with you that I would not have had Allen do the repair if I had known that there was an $89 charge for the 10 minute diagnosis and then the $115 pump would be marked up 250% to $291. When backing the cost of the pump out of the 90 minute job cost we are at a $185/hr labor rate. These are practices akin to those of Aiello, that I avoid and warn people against.
