updating to 5 stars. i lost heat in-between evening and day yesterday, just my luck, but at least it wasnt the weeks before when it was seven below! lets recap my experience: i called up, spoke with erin (welcome to the team!!) and within 5 hours (YES SAME DAY!!!!), connor came by, kicked butt took names! he knew exactly what to check, did it 123 and viola, fixed! heats up and running, i guess the spark was gone, but now its back (it needed a new ignitor) while in process, he also pointed out a few things that could be done for next fall's tune up, like a brush out. silly me i thought thats what they did when i hired them, but that fine, im ok with paying for the labor cause all the parts (including yesterday issue) is included in my contract (very reasonable fyi!) so yea, upped to 5 stars because i am so dam happy i changed to emonds, straight fire as the kids are saying (pft, like they own hvac!) read more

I can't say enough great things about M.J. Edmonds! Our oil furnace stopped a little over a year ago and we shopped around several different places for a new one along with a new central air conditioning unit (we already had the duct work so just needed the unit installed). They were by far the friendliest and they had the best prices for quality units. They also didn't try to up sell us which every other company did. They were responsive and helpful throughout the entire process, including us getting the financing through Eversource and making sure we got the correct equipment to qualify for their energy program. The installation was seamless and both the furnace and the central air conditioning works SO great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an install or servicing an existing unit. read more

It would be impossible for me to recommend MJ Emonds to anyone. After 1 year and 5 months I have had a total of "4" days of air conditioning. The Freon leaked twice and today the water started leaking through my ceiling AGAIN! I have sent emails, text messages and registered letters. Not one single time has anyone apologized for the damage to my home or the faulty and or wrong installation of the equipment. I spent $33,500 and the system has never worked. I contracted MJ Emonds to install heat pumps in my house after their representative told me that minisplits would not work in my home. The workers were beyond disrespectful of my home never covering furniture leaving their tools on my railings, and damaging nearly every room in which they worked. Without informing me they put "pipes" running up the front of my house. The owner came out and told me that they could move the pipes and would cover the cost of repairs to my ceilings, railing and cleaning of the carpeting on my stairs. Now he wants to charge me $85 per person, per hour, plus materials to move the ugly pipes from the front of my house. I have never worked with such a disrespectful, unhonorable person. I would not recommend this company for work in your home. Customer satisfaction is not a priority for them! read more

Fixed the problem at a high cost. They come at 4:45 pm to tell you their day started early so it's an extra after hour cost!

We were converting to natural gas and MJ Emonds had the most prompt and best quote on a new furnace. Brian helped us, step by step, coordinating with CNG and the town to get it all done before the weather turned cold. The installers were polite, clean, and efficient. Great service! read more

They wanted to charge my mom $1,800 to replace a hot water heater because it was 'after hours'. It was 2:30 pm on a weekday. If we waited for regular hours it would have cost $1,200. We had it replaced by an excellent company for $900. read more

I had my high efficiency gas boiler serviced recently by MJ Emonds. They promptly came out and in 5 minutes correctly diagnosed a problem that another heating contractor was unable to solve. Their price was exactly as they told me beforehand over the telephone. They were efficient and courteous on all levels. read more

I had a furnace installed by MJ Emmonds and I asked him to replace the original one I had before with the same exact model, which I had for 20 years no problem, They replaced my heating system that not only heated my house but heated my hot water. When they were done at the end of hte day they told me that they had put a couple of the parts in BACKWARDS and they would be back the next day to take it all apart and put it back together again. When they were done, I was only going to be able to take a 5 minute shower and clean as fast as I could or I would run out of hot water. When they replaced the furnace they used the old piping that was still there which was 20 years old and old wiring which was never replaced. Now I am stuck with my son's bedroom which is always up to 90 degrees though we set the thermostat at 70, my bedroom is 60 degrees , and the living room and dining room is just above the 50's and we have to wear blankets and huge sweatshirts just to stay warm in the winter. I called them for a service call, the gentleman came out and it took him no less than 10 minutes to see what was wrong with the system. He said I'll have the part in a couple of days, two weeks later (after getting a different story every time I called to check), when they finally came and replaced the part it took them less than 5 minutes to replaced slide the part in and fix the wiring. They charged me $500 for the service call and $300 for the little plastic part. At this time, the furnace leaks, I've had another company come repair it twice, I've spent $2000 on repairs and it still isnt right, at night it sounds like someone is banging on the pipes with a hammer. I totally do not recommend these people, I would not use them at all, all they do is lie and treat you unfair. They are very rude and did not treat me properly.
