I brought in photos of the color I wanted, the approximate length, and a verbal description of what I was looking for in a style. I was worried it would not come out well because I've had really bad experiences with getting my hair cut (see previous review of Fringe), but this place went above and beyond. I got the exact cut I wanted and the color is spot-on. Apparently this salon is pretty new (only open for a few months). But if you're considering coming here - do it. You won't regret it. Isis spent A LOT of time on my cut and color (almost 3.5 hours) and it only cost $85!! Amazing. Even with the $20 tip, that's still significantly less than most places in D.C. would charge. She was thorough, very nice, and continually asked me if I was okay (is the water too warm or cold when shampooing? How long would you like the side-sweep? Do you want some water?). It's rare to find this level of professionalism, courtesy, and talent with such a reasonable price tag. Especially in the D.C. area. It's clear that closure installs are not this salon's strength, If I was to view the lowest reviews they mention the same issue. During my entire eight-hour visit, I wasn't offered water or food, and by the time the bundles were being sewn in, the work felt rushed and lacking care. The closure was barely customized, just washed and trimmed. There was no color or makeup applied to help it blend naturally. I asked for a small leave-out to cover the lace and weft, yet the result was one of the worst installs I've ever received. When the final reveal came, I could literally see the lace lifting. It felt like a slap in the face after such a long day. They offered 50% off, but it still feels like a waste of time and money, especially since I now have to find another stylist to fix it. This experience left me extremely disappointed and questioning the consistency of their service. I genuinely don't understand how this can be the same salon the Washington Commanders chose to represent their brand. After posting my review on Google, the salon responded with an apology and blamed a scheduling mix-up which is an explanation that doesn't address the quality issues or lack of professionalism. At this point, a full refund would have been more appropriate, as I clearly stated I wouldn't be returning. The money I paid for such poor service could have gone to a salon that values its clients, regardless of internal scheduling errors. Below is their display of service. The issue was obvious in photos and noticeable enough that others commented on it. I reached out promptly, sent pictures, and politely asked if she could fix it. Rather than taking accountability or offering a solution, she acknowledged the issue by telling me the wefts were thick. As the professional, if the hair was going to create a bulky or uneven result, that should have been communicated before completing the service. At no point was I advised that the finished product would look the way it did. When I asked if it could be fixed, I was ignored. After following up, I was met with a dismissive response about not discussing work on her days off and was told she would revisit the issue the next day. She never followed up, never offered a correction, and never attempted to make the situation right. The most disappointing part wasn't even the hair--it was the customer service. Mistakes happen, but professionalism is demonstrated by how you handle them. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern from a paying customer, I was left feeling dismissed and ignored. Because the issue was never resolved, I had to pay an additional $190 to another stylist to remove and redo the installation (@sheweaves). She installed the exact same hair and my install is SUPER flat. I gave this business a second chance despite my previous concerns about customer service, and unfortunately the experience confirmed why I stopped going in the first place. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this stylist and will be filing complaints with the appropriate consumer protection agencies regarding the handling of this matter.
