Communication fell…read moreapart after my initial payment -- I spent over a week trying to get basic updates with no response. It wasn't until I escalated repeatedly that someone finally got back to me, promising to "make it right" and offer a discount for the disorganization. That never truly materialized. Our drivers showed up late, weren't informed of the itinerary until the night before, and we were charged for 15 guests even though only 13 attended (offered a partial refund for the missing 2). Two vans arrived when one would have been enough -- a clear sign of poor planning. Our Buffalo Trace tour wasn't at the time requested, and our group got split, likely due to late booking. If you're just looking for a ride between distilleries, this company might do the job. But if you want a stress-free, well-organized experience with honest follow-through -- look elsewhere.

My friends and I did the Brewery tour for a birthday celebration, we had so much fun!!…read more Our tour started at West Sixth around noon. The tour included 3 beers and a walk through of the brewery. Our tour guide was so much fun and even had cupcakes for our friends birthday! After West Sixth we got on the party bus. Bill, the party bus driver, was waiting for us. He was so friendly and immediately told us about the coolers and passed us the aux cord. Bill drove us to the distillery district where we went on tours at Wise Bird and Ethereal. We spent around 2 hours in this area which was nice because we had the option to get food. From Ethereal we went to Rock House Brewery, then to Mirror Twin! At each brewery we got a tour and small explanation on how they made their beer. We also got plenty of samples at each brewery. Mirror Twin was our final destination. We arrived just in time for the UK game! Part of our tour included a small seating area for our friends to watch the UK game! Everybody at Lex on Tab was so friendly and accommodating- I would recommend this tour to everybody!

Upon reaching the door we found it to be locked, but when we looked in the window we saw the owner Marti Lombardo working at her desk. We made eye contact with one another and she smiled. The first sign read "Open Saturdays 10am - 2pm" with another sign below that reading "Open Saturdays for Appointment Only". We figured that we would have to make an appointment for another time so we just decided to look at the few books that they had set up on their outdoor shelves. At this time we turned to see Marti Lombardo jump out of her chair and crawl under her desk in an attempt to hide from us. She was looking around the corner of her desk from the floor to see if we had walked away and was grabbing things from her desktop while still hiding underneath. We never knocked on the door or asked for any service. We were simply looking at the books they had to offer outside, but once Marti saw us, she decided to hide under her desk in an effort not to have any interaction with us for an unknown reason. I feel like this is VERY unprofessional and could have been handled in a completely different manner. Because of this experience we will NEVER be booking anything through Going Places Travel and we will definitely not be recommending this business to anyone.

On "our" block around our hotel, the Indigo (soon to be the Claridge), we had more restaurants than we could visit during our four-day stay. We could catch the taxi right outside our door and quickly get to the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Field Museum. Also, an architectural boat tour along the Chicago River. My husband and I used this limousine service to see the Southern Lights show in Lexington, KY with…read moreour boys and their friends. We reserved the white, 8 person limo for 3 hours. I had in my mind that most limousines I had been in carried more than 8 people and it might be small, but it was definitely comparable in size to other limos I have ridden in. It was also nicer looking in person- In a picture online it looked as if the seats were a bit worn but we didn't notice that at all while we were in it. It was comfortable. It was not as expensive as we had anticipated and as a matter of fact, because the light show was so packed, we actually went over our time by about 45 minutes and he didn't charge us for that time. A nice gesture was that he had prepared a CD for us with Christmas music that had over 30 songs on it. At the end of the trip, it was ours to keep. We had a blast. I would absolutely refer this company to a friend and will use them again in the future!:-)
