Triptych is a truly amazing brewery that makes some of the best beer you'll ever have. The brewery itself features a good number of their beers all of which you can sample with a beer flight, enjoy a pint, or take a growler home. The staff are always great about answering questions that you may have and helping you find the best beer for your particular taste. They have 3 big TV's that feature all of the available beers along with a description of them. The brewery has ample seating and has a number of board games that you can play. Even though you can get their beers just about anywhere in the area (which is wonderful) it's always nice to check out where they actually brew their beer and relax with a pint or two. Great beers coming out if Triptych, especially the IPA stuff. 'Dat Dust' is definitely a new favorite if mine. Being from STL - I got some Dank Meme from Friar Tucks and drank it at the hotel I was staying at, and it was awesome. I returned for more (from Friar Tuck) to bring home, and when i drank it - not good. The Dank was 2 months after being brewed - whereas the first batch I had was within a week. We were told not to order flights (because those are annoying) and then given attitude about having food to the tune of "you know we don't have napkins or silverware" without us even asking for either (we had brought our own). I'd give Triptych 5 stars if only they had a bike rack out front! :( Like one other reviewer, I just got back from my first trip to Triptych and thought it was pretty darn good. They've transformed the space into a comfortable tasting room that sits right alongside the brewing space. As I sipped my way through a flight (two beers on cask last night and a nice range of other brews), I was able to look over the micro-brewing set up: a Lauter tun, four or five brewing pots, and a set of fermentation vessels. The brewing space was clean and tidy, the sign (I think) of careful brewers. This is certainly a micro brewery, and they're producing some quality beer. The beer tasted like the work of careful brewers, too. On tap last night were some bright hoppy ales on one end of the spectrum, a tasty (slightly sweet) brown ale in the middle, and two or three lagers on the other end of the spectrum. These guys are making quality beers. As 5:00 rolled around, the place filled up and had an easy going atmosphere. I'll definitely go back to Triptych. read more

I've been here twice, and both times, most of my beer flight was flat. The first time the bartender gave me the completely wrong flight and could've cared less. The atmosphere is average--there are game options, but the music is very quiet and the lack of people makes it awkward. I would not come back. read more

Triptych has a great vibe from the moment you park! They have outdoor seating with hops growing along their landscape. They do not serve food, but have food trucks on the premises regularly! Once you head into the building, it's warm and welcoming! The bartenders were ready to answer any questions and offered suggestions. There were many large tables out together, so maybe that was from a group putting them together. There would be more seating if this long table was pulled apart. They are renovating and I can't wait to see the project when it's done! read more

Some peanuts or something might be a good idea, but you don't want to spoil this little gem by adding unnecessary things, or taking away from the primary focus, which is beer. I'm a Savoy local and can walk here. I come for the beer, and stay for the peaceful environment. This type of establishment will draw beer lovers and repel trouble makers. I don't want to sound like nouveau riche heel, but an IPA would be nice. Oh yeah, bring back that spicy chile beer (sans the chocolate flavor), I loved it! read more

A brand spanking new brewpub in Savoy. So, of coarse I have to check it out. They will also be distributing to a few places in downtown Champaign. They have either already sent out kegs, or will very shortly. A small L shaped bar with a few tables scattered about. The brewing equipment is displayed on the left. The LCD screens scroll to let you know what is on tap. Some board games, and you can bring in food if you want. That is it. Pretty bare bones. The service is friendly, just one guy behind the bar. He is more than happy to talk shop and answer any questions. The beer leaves something to be desired for me. I love some of the styles they are doing. They had two true session ales. Though neither were that good. A nitro cherry chocolate stout. An Oatmeal Stout, and a hoppy amber. Along with a light beer, which is nothing more than a macro for people that don't like anything else, and an apricot beer (the light beer with fruit added). No thanks on those two. There is a cask about once a week. They will do growlers as well, but have an odd way of cleaning and packaging them though. Overall, I like the people, and it is great that Savoy has a place like this. Though, the beer just did not hit with me. Blind Pig is still king here. Though it is a fun place to chill for a bit. read more

Not only a good product they are putting out but every time I have been to the tap room the people and the atmosphere have been great. Love that the kids are welcome and the staff actually takes the time to treat them like customers so we can stop more often when over in the area. Love that they have fun with what they do, mix it up with seemingly odd yet tasty releases (like Silly Scotty), but put quality/brand before profit which was proven when they tossed a whole batch that didn't meet their expectations when they took it to an event. Their tap list is available on line and extremely up to date, so check it before visiting if you are worried about finding a beer you will enjoy! On top of that, they are carry-in friendly for food and have ample table space to accommodate that, or even your favorite board game(they have a stash of these as well). The recently expanded patio and the Memery (another tap room) across the street have made it very accommodating to larger groups. One of the best breweries around. I love their hazy, hoppy beers (similar to Narrow Gauge out of St Louis and a lot of East Coast beers). They also do amazing stouts and pretty much everything else. Besides having consistent, delicious brews like Dank Meme, Wizard is Never Late, etc., I am amazed at how much experimentation they do. Hands down one of the best breweries in Central IL. I'm a huge fan of their imperial IPAs and their imperial stouts. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is due to the fact that there was no alternative alcoholic beverages other than beer. Being on a gluten free diet, I couldn't have a beer so only option was a soft drink. At least they had a few sodas to chose from, which was a plus. It would have been great if they had a cider or some mini-wine bottles to offer as an alternative. What I did love was the coffee-shop like atmosphere, inviting and casual. The outdoor seating area had cool lighting and decoration and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly from what I could tell. I wish I could say I'd be back, but unless I'm with a group for a certain occasion this place might be best left only to beer drinkers. read more

Triptych brews some of my favorite beers, and I am so lucky it just happens to be a local brewery. Dank Meme, Dirty Hippy, AJ's Stout are just a few that I highly recommend. They routinely have food trucks out front, you can bring your own food, or even have it delivered to the tasting room. Thursday nights they run a different beer through a randall with anything from hazelnut coffee beans to gummy bears. One of my favorite places in the Champaign/Urbana/Savoy area, and I love to share it with all of my friends and family. read more

This brewery always has something yummy for picky beer drinkers. With an ever rotating list of delicious brews, you're sure to find an all time favorite you can only get once every so often. Don't come hungry though. Your only options will be pretzels or Dairy Queen a block away. Also, if you are sensitive to smell, avoid when they are brewing. This is a decent brewery but the staff leaves a lot to be desired. If they're not busy being curt with their customers, they're busy finding some other way not to satisfy them. Every time we've gone here, they're out of something or have some excuse as to why we can't have what we've asked for. Another tip: show up in plenty of time before close as well because they do not hesitate to stop taking orders. It's sad because this place is only a short drive from home and I love to support local businesses. Unfortunately, because the service is so bad here, I find myself making the trip in town to Blind Pig which has far superior service and selection of higher quality brews. Save yourself the trip out here and head to one of the other breweries in CU. Shoutout to the one guy that works there in the cubs hat though. He's cool. read more
