I originally sought out her support for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitntion and Reprocessing) to move through a trauma that I experienced at 13 years old. Shortly after we began treatment, I experienced another traumatic event and we quickly switched gears. Dr. Donahue is an agile psychologist who knows how to redirect attention and efforts on a whim. She helped me learn to trust myself by asking me pointed questions rather than giving me specific advice; she taught me how to set boundaries and most importantly, how to not feel guilty about doing so. She taught me how to be resourceful and utilize all of the tools I have cultivated over the years. She taught me how to utilize my friends/family/community as a tool as well. I ended my work with Dr. Donahue because I moved across the country but I would have actively chosen to stay with her had that been a possibility. I genuinely don't know where I'd be without her. I've done Reiki a couple of times before but never felt a huge difference. With Deborah, it was different. During the session, Deborah asked questions to understand my needs and concerns. She was positive and warm, and made me feel very comfortable. She also introduced me to flower essences, which I hadn't heard of prior. During the healing session, I yawned a lot (like I was releasing a lot of repressed energy!). Afterwards, I felt relaxed - it was clear that the session truly worked although it wasn't done in person, which I was a little nervous about at first. Deborah also quickly followed up after our session with additional information and promptly responded to a follow up question I had about flower essences.
