I am a very loyal client. I have used Trois CPA for over 5 years now. The first 2 years, I was extremely pleased. Archie was on top of everything. The passed 3 years IN A ROW have been terrible experiences. I will not be using their services at all anymore. It took months to complete simple tax returns. Standard W2 returns. This passed year, it took 5 months just to get my husband's old 2019 returns filed. My husband begged me never to use Trois CPA again. This year, I ended up filling my own taxes using TurboTax for much less and I filed it immediately - not months later. As a loyal customer, I recommended Archie to my family as well. My cousin just learned that his 2019 return was NEVER filed although he paid them for services. One friend just complained that he's very disappointed in their slow services as well. They were good last 2 years that I've worked with them but this year I've been disappointed in their service. I've paid them on in early April before the deadline and then after a month later I found out that they did not even submitted my tax return to the government and now in June I am still waiting for my refund check. The reason they gave me was that Archie did not look over the tax return yet. It's unprofessional for their miscommunication and on top of that I am still waiting for my stimulus check. I first found out about his office on yelp. I decided to give this play a try because H&R block was charging $150+ just for a person. Great CPA. Archie is a really nice and friendly guy. His office is a bit small and hard to find, but who cares the CPA was GREAT! Archie works with you and finds the best solutions for you to get as much money back as possible. For my mom and I our fee was only $90 and he finished our taxes in one day. Great and fast service, reasonable prices, very patient, explains things thoroughly and very professional. This is my second year going to Tracy, and I won't be stopping any time soon. This year I brought my fiancé as well, and we are both extremely happy with her and the rest of the staff. Having previously done TurboTax or gone to H&R block and not been clear on what I was doing or why different factors contributed to the overall return, our experience at Trois was a shocking and refreshing change of pace (not to mention H&R charges an arm and a leg, while Trois is SUPER affordable). Tracy takes the time to explain EVERYTHING to you, and even show you if/then scenarios with your current return to illustrate what different effect factors have on your return amount. She was also able to offer us advice for our future decisions of claiming as either joint/individual based on past and present returns to help us understand what factors would change. Tracy spent as long as we needed with her, and went over past returns (pre-Trois) to make sure that we were not going to be liable for anything, and made adjustments accordingly. She was very friendly, and helped us feel comfortable knowing that she had a masterful understanding of tax law and was ensuring our maximum return while protecting us. All in all, I cannot recommend Tracy & Trois CPA highly enough. Extremely professional, courteous, and friendly service that has earned our business for years to come. Note- they moved to the location on Brea Canyon, but double check your directions if you look them up on Google; it may give you the correct written address but the wrong location on the map (their old office at Golden Springs). read more

Initially Archie was very good. Last three years, he would wait till the tax deadline to do my taxes. Very unnerving. Then to find out he did the taxes, but didn't file it. I called and couldn't speak to him. His secretary said the would take care of it. Two months later received another letter from IRS stating taxes were not filed. Again, can't speak to him. Great service, but I had a brainfart and forgot to tell him my book and school expenses I incurred as a student (for a possible deduction in my taxes). Oh well my loss, he should have reminded me too, but oh well. It's done and submitted. Been using Trois CPA tax services for about 4 years now for both my personal and business, Archie's services definite deserve more then 5 stars and no doubt my time for a over due review. He's great as ever, professional, easy to work with and very patient. He takes time on explaining and break down is very easy to understand. I only really communicate by emails and they are replied promptly, I never needed to call since I'm not in a big hurry for any answers. I had lots of new questions or even repeated questions whenever I show up to appointments, but Archie always answered them for me clearly and took his time, but I can definitely imagine can get busy! read more

Yelp really came thru this time! True Diamond here! I had been searching since January for a new place to do my taxes. I got tired of my old tax preparer as every year it just got more and more expensive for an 1040EZ! Lucky Yelp came thru and I decided to try this place out. I called to set up and appointment and went in later that week. (I did my taxes in February so it wasn't as busy as say APRIL) I liked the convenience that its just down the street from work and how easy it was to get an appointment. It was easy to find and Archie was very friendly and detailed. He answered all my questions and gave me some good tips for next year.The whole process took less than an hr and I couldn't be happier! Even my dad is ditching his old tax prepare to come here! Thank you Archie, you did not disappoint! :) Note he also has an office in San Dimas (this is much closer to home, but Diamond Bar office was just more convenient at the time for me), hrs vary at this office as I think Archie mentioned he is only there in the mornings? Call and ask. But defiantly a MUST TRY for taxes. read more

Beware! Do not go to this guy! We went to him a couple of years back for our 2015 income tax. A year later, i got a letter saying IRS and state did not get our file and our payment. Trois cpa gave us copies that they did file. How it happened? i do not know! They are very disorganized! To make matters worse, they did not even apologize for their mistake ! read more

If I could give a zero star I would. I had Archie take care of my taxes 3 times. First time was great, my taxes were simple and he finished my taxes pretty fast. The 2nd year he was fast, but I asked him via email a question, but he never never fully ever got back to my question. In for my 2015 taxes, I got married and had him do my taxes for me and my husband. My husband had documents he wanted Archie to include after our meeting, but Archie never attemped follow up on the update. My husband sent several followup emails and phone calls with no response. They cashed our check pretty fast though. I finally had to call their office and air my frustrations with them. They finally got back and finished our taxes right before the deadline. I was not very happy with Archie. The following year I got an IRS audit for an IRA conversion which I had asked Archie about in the 2nd year working with him. He said everything was okay o proceed tax wise and that there is nothing for him to do. But sure enough I got huge penalties for doing the conversion. Fortunately for us, my new CPA was able to rectify the situation and put an amendment to Archie's filing that year. Since Archie did not properly document I was converting my IRA. Very disappointed with Archie. Sure go ahead he can help with simple taxes, but anything more complicated good luck with that. Use him at ur own risk. Hopefully doesn't come back to haunt u like it did for me and my husband. Do yourself a favor and find a good CPA that actually knows what they are doing and knows the importance of responding in timely manner. read more

My wife and I have been using Archie two years in a row now and I must say he has been great. I'm surprised to read any negative reviews of him as I have always found him to be very responsive and attentive to detail. His pricing is very reasonable and he's just a nice guy. We know tax season is always busy for accountants which is why I suggest getting all your information ready to be submitted as early as possible. We always submit ours in the middle of February as soon as we receive all our tax forms as they get log-jammed in March and April. Anyways, I had a s-corp which I closed in 2013. I did the taxes myself through Intuit online payroll and Turbotax and filed my business and personal return incorrectly. It was a mess and difficult to understand and figure out with all the confusing IRS letters. I contacted Archie and he sorted through the mess quickly and explained to me what needed to be done and amended my return by the very next day. So bottom line go see Archie. My wife and I have been completely happy with his service and if you see him you will too. read more

I'm usually not one to write any reviews since I mainly use yelp to help me do some research on places to eat. Even then, seldomly do I ever write any reviews. With that being said, I had to write a review about this place since I feel that it is well-deserved. I usually do taxes on my own via turbotax, but since work has prompted me to work my life away, the little free time that I have is spent relaxing or hanging out with friends and family. Because of this, I started asking my friends and business associates of places that they felt were not just good, but great! I was a little hesitant at first since I discovered that Trois CPA hasn't been around all too long, but was assured that Archie, the owner, has been working as a CPA for quite some time. After meeting him and conversing with him, he was definitely someone I can trust to do my taxes. Working with him, he was very attentive to my tax form and asked very insightful questions that I never thought pertained to taxes. He had a high attention to explained things thoroughly and was very patient with any questions that I have had. In the end, he got me an amazing return that was much higher than anticipated and definitely more than any other years that I have done the taxes on my own. They did not file our taxes MORE THAN 2 WEEKS LATER! I was waiting for our return & after 21 days, I called them to ask if they can find out any update but they never called me back. I gave them my name & phone. I called the IRS & was told that there has no submission for 2016 tax yet.....now thats when i became nervous that we just got scammed. i called trois 20x until someone finally answered & told them that i called IRS and they need to tell me whats going on, the girl on the phone checked our file & said the lady that did our tax didnt file it until just last weekend. thats just unacceptable. read more

After holding three different jobs this past year, my taxes were all messed up and I was worried that I would end up owing money to the IRS for taxes. I can be quite a worry wart when it comes to things like this so I wanted to find the most knowledgeable and trustworthy CPA out there to help me with this important task. To prepare, I read up on tax brackets and deductions online and contemplated doing my own taxes through Turbo Tax. I was worried I would miss something and end up doing it incorrectly, so I started consulting friends and family on good CPA's in the area. My co-workers all go to a magician-like CPA who charges you thousands of dollars for taxes but will somehow get you a refund of thousands higher than other tax services. Although I was curious, I didn't want to lie and cheat on my taxes, and just wanted to find someone to answer all of my questions about how taxes work. I even made an appt and paid a visit to H&R Block for a tax consultation but the consultant there was vague and unhelpful. When I asked how to best optimize my situation for next year, she told me I would probably have to pay a lot of taxes next year and suggested buying a property or investing in an IRA. Is that the only way? Really? They also took a look at my W-2 forms and told me I would probably break even for the year. My consultation with Archie, however, was like a breath of fresh air. He was efficient, honest and straight to the point. He clarified a lot of myths I had heard and read about taxes, and also walked me through my entire tax form to show me which deductions are legit and can be applied, and which deductions I did not qualify for. He also explained everything in a "bottom-line" type of way that made it easy to understand and also gave me advice on what to do next year, which did not include rushing out to buy a property or open an IRA. He also told me that the people at H&R Block are not CPAs? That explains it then! By maximizing all of my possible deductions, Archie helped me complete my taxes with 100% honestly, and I am happy to share that I will be getting a few thousand back from the IRS this year. Yay! Archie charged me a very reasonable fee for tax preparation and handled the rest of my taxes electronically through email. This was super convenient because I didn't have to take another trip to physically sign any papers. Only thing was that it took about a week for him to reply to a question I had, but I understand because he's the main guy running the office and with tax season in full swing, I am sure he is swamped. Regardless, I still got my taxes done and it's only March 5th. QUICK TIP: The office is a bit hard to find. It's on the second level of the Tom N Tom Coffee Shop plaza, and joined with a Chinese Travel Agency office. Just peek through the window and Archie will come out to greet you. Hard to reach Archie most of the time his assistant is the one returning your call. We first filled back March 2 and up to now we have not received our refund. When I call for update they request for forms to be emailed to them only for them to re request the forms back after weeks of delay. This is after u call repeatedly for update and no call back for days. I know it's tax season but if you need additional forms you would think they call right away so you can get them the forms they need to file your tax not weeks after when you assume everything is ok and filed. I went here based on the reviews but it was a big mistake!!! read more

Been going to Trois CPA for over 3 years now. I found Archie 3 years ago on Yelp like everyone else. His services through the years have been consistently good. Good CPAs are hard to find, and good ones are usually really busy. I do notice that Archie is getting busier and waiting sometimes is a must. I don't mind that though because there are many things to do at that plaza while waiting. I visit the coffee shop or grab some food sometimes during the wait. I would recommend anyone looking for a good CPA to go visit. Avoid the non busy CPAs, they are not busy for a reason. read more
