There are so many absolutely amazing aspects of working with Mari that it's hard to know where to start. She is talented, kind, creative, a great communicator and listener, and just an all-around supportive and calming presence in the midst of wedding planning chaos. My wife and I started the planning process knowing nothing about floral design -- we had a vague vision and general flower types and colors we thought we liked, but not much else. From our very first conversation, Mari gently guided us through the entire process from start to finish and brought that vague vision to life in a way that was 1000% better than we ever expected or hoped! She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect (including spray painting our ceremony arch in the days before our wedding since the color wasn't quite right, spending hours on set-up and take-down on the hottest day of the season, and so much more). As a result, the flowers were a standout highlight of our wedding day. We could NOT get over how incredibly beautiful everything looked, from our bouquets to the ceremony installation to the tablescapes, and neither could our guests -- they're still raving about her work months later. (This sounds like an exaggeration, but it's not.) In addition to florals, Mari designed our invitations and welcome sign -- which matched perfectly with our floral color palette -- and was an advisor to us on so many other parts of the planning process, outside of florals and paper. Throughout the whole process, she was flexible and understanding about our budget, hardworking and committed to making our ideas a reality, and always fun to chat with and be around. But, hiring Mari as things began to feel slightly overwhelming early on was the best investment we made for our wedding. We used Holiday Celebrate for all of the florals at our wedding in August, during a classic Los Angeles heat wave. Mari and her team executed a design that was absolutely flawless. We went with a fairly minimal approach, which in my opinion is even harder to pull off than an extravagant set up. And despite the heat, everything held up against the very tough elements. Mari and her team were there early, they nailed everything from the bouquet to the table design to the backdrop for our photobooth and everything in between. Everything looked amazing and we received so many compliments from everyone at the wedding. I will say that Mari went above and beyond to include some glassware that belonged to my wife's grandmother. We wanted to include small elements from our grandmother's who have both passed. The glasses were incorporated in such a unique and beautiful way that everyone from my wife's family immediately understood why they were there. Meanwhile my family, who had no idea they were family heirlooms, just thought that they were a really beautiful touch to the design. It was that very smart and elegant approach to all the florals that seamlessly tied together so many elements of our wedding. She really took us from a half finished look to a very completed, visually stunning design from top down. It was amazing! They are also very affordable, professional, and easy to work with. Planning a DIY wedding on a budget is not an easy task. Most people don't have more than one wedding, so unless you're involved in event planning, you're going to be a novice. Having Mari as our day-of coordinator was a godsend. We cannot imagine surviving the process without her. She was a great sounding board to our concerns and helped implement a fantastic day. Mari is fantastic! I can't recommend her highly enough. I hired her and her colleague Jen for partial planning when I thought I was going to have a big wedding. I was specifically looking for a planner who could work with a tight budget and had an open mind for a super non-traditional, diverse wedding. Boy did I find the right crew! They had tons of great suggestions for ways to save money, affordable venues in LA (which is tough to find!) and they have great contacts of really cool, laid back vendors. Through the process my husband and I decided to pare things way back and have a very small, intimate wedding with only about 20 close friends and family members. Mari and Jen were so awesome when I approached them about changing the contract and ended up helping us out for a fraction of their already super reasonable price. I wasn't sure if I needed any help for such a small wedding but their services were INVALUABLE: everything from making super detailed lists of everything I needed and all the plans ahead of time to showing up at a public park to hold down our space, setting up tables with decorations and snacks (which they did with amazing style), marking off an impromptu processional trail using logs they found around the park, sweet talking the sheriff and park staff to let us hold our ceremony without a permit (I might not recommend this!), calming our nerves and making sure all our guests were gathered in formation for the ceremony. These gals seriously rock at their jobs, not to mention they are just really cool, creative, down to earth people who I would want to hang out with any day of the week. I also hired them to do florals for the wedding, including a bouquet, boutonnieres and some centerpieces and bud vases for the tables. Holy cow! Mari knocked it out of the park. I gave them a few main flowers/colors I was interested in and some pictures of the general vibe (I wanted a wild feeling) - it was like they read my mind and then added their own super amazing creative juice to my boring ideas. read more

We gave Mari vague and ill-defined floral preferences. She gave us absolutely stunning arrangements for our wedding. Mari didn't expect us to have a "vision" and spent time getting to know our likes and dislikes. She was incredibly flexible, adjusting the type boutonnieres, number of centerpieces, decor, etc. What she delivered was above and beyond perfect. Mari is a magical human being who I will be eternally grateful to for making our wedding so so so beautiful. She did all of the design -- save the dates, invitations, all signage, table settings, and of course FLORALS. She is a floral wizard. She had the amazing idea to create this beautiful arrangement in lieu of an altar that was a semi circle of flowers coming up from the ground... I have none of the vocabulary to describe it (which demonstrates my ignorance on the subject and what a life-saver Mari was for us), but it was stunning. The bridal bouquet she created was actually perfect. I felt like every time I wanted something she would somehow read my mind and make it only ten times better than I could have imagined. Everybody complimented our invitations and save the dates to no end because they were gorgeous and unique and all designed by the magnificent Mari! When I began planning my wedding, I had a vision of what of I wanted, but pretty much no idea of the process. Thank goodness for Marisa!! She guided me through the entire planning process, gave me everything I needed to plan and budget, and helped me to mold my vision into a beautifully designed and incredibly fun celebration. Beyond that, I can very honestly say that I enjoyed the wedding planning process. Marisa helped me to stay on track and plan my wedding with ease and true joy- something I think I lot people miss out on when wedding planning. In regard to designing, Marisa listened to my requests and really honed in my personal aesthetic. She hand painted a gorgeous fern theme in watercolor which she used to design our invitation suite, menus, escort cards, table numbers, wine labels, and thank you cards. During the design process, she extremely easy to communicate with and and quick to adapt to my (often changing) requests. The end results were always *exactly* what I wanted. It was so special to have a wedding design that was truly our own. Marisa also did our florals and went above and beyond. I had requested a "magical, secret garden" feel and the effect was exactly that. We had hundreds carnations hand-sewed into garlands, floating from the center of the tent. Dramatic centerpieces, floral headpieces, and boutonnieres added to the magical, flowery feel. It was truly the secret garden of my dreams! I was completely blown away and so were my guests. I really cannot recommend Marisa enough. If you are looking for someone to make your dream wedding into a reality (and do it on a budget) (and do it with joy), you've found her! read more

I've worked with Marisa on two events as a wedding videographer. She was prompt, organized, and on top of things! She handled last minute weather changes and scheduling mishaps like a pro, all with a good attitude. She is clearly in love with her job, and that showed through with every design detail.
