They are more money than Tommy's but the rooms and beds are always clean, spacious and well lit whereas Tommy's resembles a cave or factory with dim lighting and loud pop music. The staff will help you decide what package is right for you and how long to tan so you don't burn or look like a Jersey Shore wanna be. The spray tanning is excellent, easily the best in the area, and there's often a combination deal of buy 2 spray tans, get one free. The staff is older than the typical Tommy's high schooler and it shows as they tend to be a lot more professional. I haven't been here enough to say that it's the best of the best as I also want to try Club Anytime Sun before making my final judgment.

The owner himself gave my mom the "411" and a tour to see if she was okay with it. Then she brought me and bought me a month. Now, every so often when I need a bit of color I ALWAYS go back there. All the girls are very friendly and remember your name, which I think is very nice. The prices are a bit higher than their local competition, but what the others lack in, Velocity makes up for in every way. You really do get your money's worth. It's always very clean! I know that in other salons they only give you 4 minutes before your bed starts, I've felt rushed and I never quite get the full time in the bed because I'm still putting on my lotion! But at Velocity, you get 7 minutes before the lamps automatically come on and you have the option to start them before if you don't need the full 7! There are speakers with the radio on in every bed. Sometimes it seems a little loud and I wish they had music with no commercials but hey, it's still pretty sweet. There are several different beds they offer. The 12 minute lay down beds are just fine for a basic tan and on a budget. They have nicer lay down beds that have much more room, so if you get nervous in small spaces, that bed is much better. That bed is quite a chunk of money but I've found that my face gets a better tan and it has lamps on the sides so you get a more even and natural looking tan. The stand ups they offer are just as nice. I would only say to go in the 8 minute stand up. It's alittle more money but it is well worth it. You get a very even tan. But no matter which bed you go in, the staff is very educated on how much time you should start out with and when to up your minutes to avoid burning. This a very thoughtful process and I think it really shows that Velocity Tanning is the best tanning salon around! **This is the only place I will go to!

I personally want to say "shame on them". They are definitely taking advantage of their staff. I've been going to this location on and off for about 4 years and that has never changed. It is spotless, the wait and service is actually impressive, again, being that there is only 1 staff member on. That's signing new members up, setting them up for their first time, cleaning the beds, selling products, washing towels, and now setting clients up for red light therapy, taking phone calls, possibly more behind the scenes we don't see...1 staff member. SMH So for the staff, I give them 5 stars. For the cheap owners that are trying to get the most out of their staff and keeping their payroll low, I'd give them a 1 star. Oh, I don't like the music but I keep forgetting to bring earplugs so that's on me.
