She won't bother to look up the owner. Just give your pet to the shelter and make you search for them then blame you for not knowing to call her. Then because she took the pet to the shelter now your pet is being held hostage until you pay her fee and a fine?!? Nowhere on my dog license does it state that if my dog gets out I will have to pay a fine to retrieve him. Yet my family pet is being held for ransom. Horrible to deal with.

There's also a fun gift shop where you can peruse with your dog while you wait to be called. Dropping our guy off was no problem at all. Once checked into the system, a handler from the back was paged and came out to greet us. We went over the instructions we had printed out and we were comfortable with the amount of interaction. We were even allowed to escort our guy into his 'run' which was a treat. Upon picking him up a couple of days later, we were given a high-level overview of the weekend. Personally, I'm spoiled with the amount of detail in the updates from our every day walker (see: Happy Pet Care), so I was a little disappointed that we weren't given more detail of the weekend's activities. All in all a great experience and we will for sure be going back. The price was extremely reasonable, the facilities were clean, and all of the animals were obviously cared for and taken care of in a way you would hope and expect.

She did not have any problems (and continues to be a wonderful dog and that's probably because we sent her to James). She had basic commands down. After James, she became excellent at multiple commands. She would sit at her bowl for hours if you don't release her (by verbal command). You can leave her with steak in the next room and won't eat it if you don't release her. You get the picture - James knows what he is doing and will set you, and your pup, up for success. He was very thorough in explaining what to expect and how to continue her training at home. We could not be happier. Our pup is also happy, and she loved James. When we brought her back for boarding a couple nights she couldn't wait to hang out with James. We had to save up to send her, and it was worth every penny. We would do it again. Highly, highly recommend. For any pup!

As a last ditch effort we called James @ Empire K-9 2.5 hrs away from our home. After 5 weeks of training with Ross he was transformed into the best dog we have seen anywhere. James spent a whole day with myself and my whole family to train us on how to handle and communicate with our new family member. Here we are over a year later and if we call James with a question he is quick to respond back with a helpfull answer. When we need to board Ross we drive him down to James @ Empire K9 2.5 hours away because he is the only one we trust with our Ross. Thank you James for this gift of being able to communicate with our deaf dog, you have no idea how much joy this little Miniature Bull Terrier bring to our family now.

They don't like to undo any tangled dog hair, preferring to shave everything off. When I took issue…read morewith this, the assistant implied I was "inhumane". There are ways to get rid of tangles without hurting the dog. Lotions, sprays, and technique - starting at the end of the tangle and working down. But they couldn't be bothered. She hardly had any knots at all and I wound up with the WORST hair cut for my poor puppy. Not only that, but I found a huge wound by her ear that had to have been caused by the clippers. Who is inhumane? Cannot recommend these lazy non-artists.

Will be changing vet services. Next day - the vet called regarding our concerns. Pain medication ready to be picked up. The problem seems to have been poor communication between care givers and front end staff. Will give them another chance as they have provided good care for our dog in the past.
