I took a beautiful prime bobcat to CFT...Dropped my mount off and left the state for a new job. I…read moreroutinely checked in with CFT to check the status of my mount, which seemed to be taking an unusually long time (2 years). Many times I called and had to explain exactly which mount was mine, and in which position I had wanted my cat. At one point, I was told it was just about done and he was just waiting on the right log. The mount I had ordered had nothing to do with a log...We cleared up the confusion, and I continued to wait. Eventually I received word that my cat was done. I mailed the remaining amount of money owed to CFT, and a friend of mine picked up the cat for me and held it for about a year until I was able to visit him. I picked up my cat almost three years after dropping it off at CFT, extremely excited to see my trophy. At first glance I was VERY disappointed. The cat's fur was thin, and showed numerous bald spots. Not my February-cat that I had dropped off. I have since cross-referenced the mount with the many pictures I took after shooting the cat. The cat that was mounted is most definitely not my cat. There are many spots that simply do not match up. Not to mention the cat that I have in my possession looks like it was a road kill that was picked up in the middle of July and not a mature, healthy February cat. On a side note, the friend who was holding my cat for me also had numerous ducks mounted by CFT. He was intending on getting a traditional stringer mount done of a mixed bag limit. What he got was the most bizarre mounting of six ducks that seemed to be diving straight down. But that is his story... I highly recommend if you're looking to get a mount done, that you look elsewhere.
