Since the installation of Verizon FiOs equipment in our Complex, my T Mobile (non Verizon) cell phones do not work. Because all of my work calls are forwarded to my cell phone, I have lost business. Furthermore, I am unable to dial 911 from Troy Hills village road on THEIR property....As they did with the previous reviews written about this, management is replying to me stating that this is a T Mobile issue that is completely unrelated to the Fios Installation, and add insult to injury by copy/pasting a generic explanation insinuating that it is impossible for "Fiberoptic" service to cause interference....Yes, the Fiber Cables are insulated, blah ze blah....However, the Optical Network Terminals that make the Fiber Signal Digestible for the User Network in addition to other Verizon Equipment that is being used for this so called "upgrade" is what is causing the EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference). The management at Troy Hills village is adamantly refusing to facilitate communication with Verizon, with which THEY hold the contract, to have this investigated for their tenants. Furthermore, they have VERIZON equipment that is "just sitting in our parking lot" and all over the property , that is connected to power lines that could be easily accessible to children to tamper with and possibly get hurt (see images below). This is completely and totally unacceptable. I have given AMPLE time for the management team to even ATTEMPT to make this right for their tenants, but I guess keeping up with the feeble excuses to keep the spotlight off their decision to FORCE the VERIZON FIOS installation on their residents is more important to them then the lives and property of the people that actually put money in their pockets. UNFORTUNATELY I am only able to give them ONE star because this deserves ZERO at best. Perhaps this will get their attention. ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, THEY CARE NOTHING ABOUT THE LIVLIHOOD AND SAFETY OF THEIR TENANTS. I must also add that it was NOT always like this....I have been a resident for 6 years....EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT before the change in management....STEVE was a great office manager...Sheila was a great and knowledgeable office staff member....EVERYTHING has gone DOWNHILL since the property was purchased by Seth Adler and Managed by Julie Martin (Peter). I am so disappointed. I really hate to write reviews based on anger, but at a minimum, I feel accosted....But I will end it with something positive....although you cannot get the maintenance team to help you without "filing a ticket" they have all been very nice and helpful when called upon. If you're thinking about moving here DON'T. We haven't been here for 6 months and our apartment is infested with these little spider things. When we moved in we were told "oh don't worry maintenance will handle everything that's why they live on site" let me tell you every time we call maintenance and schedule the exterminator which btw comes every Tuesday and Friday (lived in an apartment for 10+ years never heard of something like that) , they act like we are ridiculous for being upset for having to pay almost $2000 a month only to deal with constant bugs. They exterminator sprayed multiple times and nothing is working. We have not gone one day without seeing at the very least 10 of these things. If if we don't kill them ourselves, we end up stepping on them by accident not knowing they're even there because there's so many. There are bugs in every single one of our lights. Apparently it's our responsibility to take down the lights and maintenance could get in trouble if they take down the lights but the bugs are not our responsibility. I found them in my clean clothes, in my bed (on my brand new mattress and it was already dead so that means one of us rolled over on it in our sleep EW) and just want to make dinner, found it in my clean dishes that were put away in the cabinet. Clearly the exterminator does not work and and there is a deeper issue than what they want to lead on and they're not doing anything about. Our apartment is "Newley renovated " but really it was just given the land lord special. The floors are uneven. The airflow/heat is all messed up. Worst decision ever made. TROY HILLS VILLAGE: The worst renting experience I have EVER had! My biggest regret was not listening to the multitude of horrible reviews this place already has (most of them because of the God-awful people who work in the leasing office). If you move here, get ready - you as the renter will be treated as an inconvenience any time you have a question or an issue needing to be resolved. *My first month at Troy Hills Village, I received an electric bill from JCP&L for $4,000! I called the leasing office, and all they could tell me was "this type of thing never happens, this only happened to you". They told me I needed to contact JCP&L myself, which I did, and I set up at appointment for Saturday when I would be home. Troy Hills failed to let me know that the meters (which are behind a locked door) can only be accessed from 8am-4pm Monday through Friday by a Troy Hills employee. You would think they would disclose this information to the renter upon signing the lease, but they did not. JCP&L even offered to stop at the leasing office and pick up a key for the meter room to make it easier - but no, Troy Hills actually REFUSED to allow them access. Because of this inflexibility on Troy Hills' part, I had to wait almost an entire MONTH after receiving that bill to have it corrected. I actually had a JCP&L employee comment on how difficult my apartment complex was, and after barely a month here I couldn't agree more. After all this, I received no apologies or even a follow up from Troy Hills - only a reminder that "this only happens to me" Not to mention, every time I called the leasing office to follow up on the situation, I was given so much attitude you would have thought it was my fault. Awful! *I was told Optimum was the only internet provider available in the complex ...fine. I made an appointment and stayed home from work - the technician that they sent gave me the creeps as soon as I answered the door, which should have been my warning, but I kept the appointment anyway as it's not easy for me to get time off. He proceeded to pace through my house without saying a word and ignored me when I was asking him questions about what he was doing. He even opened my bedroom door and walked in without asking me (the internet was to be installed in the living room.....)This made me extremely uncomfortable as a single female - I ended up calling Optimum and filing a complaint. I had to have a service technician come back TWO MORE TIMES before I could have working internet service. I called Troy Hills about what happened (since this is the provider they are forcing on everyone) , and the response from Steven, was, yet again, "This has never happened before". Since when is that an appropriate way to resolve an issue? I even brought that to his attention that he can't just keep telling me "This never happens" every time I come to the office with a problem, and he seemed to find that funny. *I paid an extra $50 a month in rent to be closer to the washer and dryer facilities, thinking this would be a nice perk. WHAT A JOKE! The washers are DISGUSTING - they are coated in grime, and are out of service half the time. When they are in service, it often leaves detergent behind or doesn't fully empty the water, leaving you with dirty clothes. I ran into other people doing their laundry who have complained but nothing changes. I started paying to have my clothes washed at Baldwin Laundromat - an inconvenience, but at least that place keep their facility clean and in working order. Usually only half the dryers are working, and they're ancient. *They REFUSED to allow me to be present during the final walk through! I called 2 weeks in advance of my move out date (I had already put in the required 60 days to vacate) to request an appointment be set up so I could be present when they do the final walk-through. The response I received was "I'm sorry, we can't allow you to do that". I was completely floored. I asked why, and they had no other reason than "it's our policy". I found this a little odd so I asked for it to be shown to me in writing, because I don't remember that policy being in the lease. Not to mention, I've never experienced this anywhere else. Suddenly, the story changes: it's not an official policy, it's not in writing anywhere, "it's how we've always done things", and it makes it easier to handle the security deposit. I asked for the manager, and received the same answer. Very, very shady. *Complex is infested with bugs - don't be surprised to see a bed bug truck on the weekends making the rounds. Hopefully I don't have to add to this review once they process my security deposit. Shame on you, Troy Hills. read more

The worst rental experience I have ever had since B&A construction took over. It is a dump. The laundry facilities are disgusting. After they damaged my personal belongings in my apartment, no one to this day has even even responded to the concern. I have so many pictures I can share. Major mice and bed bug problem. Now they allow dogs and grills. Dog feces and loud barking all the time. Steven Furao is the most unprofessional and rude individual I have ever come across. Dumb as rocks too. How he is the office manager is beyond me. Raised my rent to the max every year and refused to do any repairs to upkeep the apartment. After getting a lawyer involved I finally left. I know I will never see my deposit but at least I will never have to step foot in that unsafe, loud, dirty, and overall unhappy place. read more

My wife and I have lived here for 4 years and we love it here! It's a quiet neighborhood and the landscaping is always very well kept. From the laundry room being so close in every court yard, the beautiful pool and the 24-7 very fast maintence team- this place rocks! We love walking around all the courtyards and we love being walking distance to a grocery store, pizza, Indian and Chinese food! read more

The leasing office at the location was just horrible. There was a misunderstanding is processing my paperwork, and when I called (obviously upset and frustrated) I did not receive a simple apology. I spoke to several different people, one of which being a manager and just got a lot of attitude in return. If the management had just been polite and said sorry for the misunderstanding there really would not have been a big issue and it would have been ok. But all of management was extremely disrespectful and rude, and I did not hear a simple apology once. I asked around and apparently a lot of people I know who live in Parsippany have had several similar interactions with people at this leasing office. read more

I am really disappointed about of social responsibility of this company especially when there is hard times for society in common and for the local community particular. Everybody knows that now time is very hard because of pandemic. It's very easy to loose a job and very difficult to find new one. I moved-in to an apartment of this company more than one year ago. I lost my job in the beginning of pandemic but I have been continuing pay the rent. I have no delays with payments. Now, I have to move-out of apartments because I don't have funds to pay for future rent. I thought that it would be right to find a way to solve this problem in proper way. I sent a move-out notice and asked to take into account the my financial situation. I have to pay buyout fee in a amount of two months rent. I agree to pay this amount but asked to consider possibilities to allow me payment plan. The answer was no. Ok, I asked to allow me pay buyout fee not in time of the notice (the same day of notice) but during month preceding of move-out (before move-out). The answer was again no. They don't want to move even one inch towards to understanding of tenants situation. So, in the end I would like to say that Troy Hills Village is 1) a company that does not care about any social responsibility, 2) this company doesn't care about people needs in difficult times and will never help any people and 3) owners of these company thinks only about their own pockets and never care about members of society. Before move-in to apartments to this company, please, be aware that this company will never understand your problems in emergence cases, even if you will want to solve them in mutual benefitial way. read more

Good parts: It is a house. It will protect you from wind, rain, various elements. Bad parts: The office closes at 4, which is great for working folks. The office will enter your apartment basically whenever they want. If they say before noon, enjoy getting an 'afternoon delight'. The office will not solve any problems you have, ever. Whether it's noise violations or shoddily constructed home hardware, you are basically a homeowner here. The office will apparently lose your rent money and then try to evict you with 12 hours of notice! Enjoy the exciting life of Troy Hills Village! You might even get to enjoy such fun things as random drifters from the creepy motel across the highway or superintendents who follow you around in the dark! They have terrible management. They let cat owners have as many as they want, but don't check ever to see if it's being cleaned, therefore the apartments reeked or cat piss and feces. Very rude staff - except for Tim and Mike. They were both great matinence guys and always helped us out with big boxes and things that were too big to carry to the dumpster. Rude neighbors that made noise above us all night long and nothing was ever done by the PPD. Took them 6 months to fix our AC and i needed it really bad at the time i was pregnant. There was always something that was a problem in the apartment as well as outside like a bag or two full of cigarettes that we were gonna throw away, any decorations had to be taken down or they would be thrown out. Worst place to live. I would never recommend them to anyone. They also discriminate against pregnant women who don't need a 2 bedroom when an infant new born doesn't need its own room. The only positive is that there was a gym in our complex, farmers market, great food, BWW and Taco Bell in walking distance. & the rooms (1 bedroom) were huge and living room. I have been staying in this complex for 2 years now.The plus point is the location.Having said this - the lady at the front desk (in Rental Office) - Mary - is the most ill-mannered,disrespectful,hot-headed and temperamental person you would ever come across.I am writing this in all sincerity and after reflecting on her behavioral trends over the past 2 years. At times she is busy on phone (not with a prospective tenant) - and if you go there she will bark on you as if you are a road side beggar.This happened with me as well as my friend a couple of time. I so much wish that some one from the top management get a feedback on her from the current and past residents and take appropriate action by throwing her out of the rental office. She runs that like her fiefdom and has been giving a very hard time to the tenants. She lacks the basic people skill required for such a job - and her behavior begs attention and appropriate action from the upper management. read more

Hubby & I are looking for a small one bedroom apartment in a safe neighborhood in northern NJ and based on reviews on apartments.com I decided to contact the Troy Hills Village in Parsippany. It was impossible to have someone answering the phone. Another day, I had few appointments in Parsippany so I decided to stop by to check their property and try to find out if there were any availability for the upcoming months. What a horrible decision. The woman at the lease office was extremely rude. She said there were apartments available but I would need to come back another day to visit one of the available units. I explained I have only one day off per week and since I was there, I'd like to visit it. She didn't care but then she said "Ok, I'm going to get someone to help you. Please fill out this paper and I'll be right back". I don't know what happen, but when she came back, she completely changed. She took the paper from my hand and in a very sarcastic way said I don't qualify for their property because my income was too low. I told her it was only my information and I was still filling it out. My husband is a full time worker and to apply for lease, we would be using his income, which is about $80,000 per year. Then she asked why I was there alone since I have a husband. I explained that my husband, who is familiar with that area, was working and his days off are saturdays afternoons and sundays, when their office is closed. So I was supposed to see the apartment and if I like it, my husband would have no problem living in that area. She started yelling at me saying she was too busy to continue talking to me and my husband must find a day off to see an apartment if he wants to live there but then, she said that there were nothing available for us at that time. REALLY? Do you have to be that rude? We are a young couple, with no children trying to find a safe place to live. We both work, we have good income, great credit score, no criminal record, both are US citizens (like she mentioned as one of the requirements) and we pay our taxes ... what else these people wants? I don't understand why there is no professionalism and cordiality when talking to people. I was not begging for a shelter to stay for free.
