Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It's in a really great location right off the highway with multiple gas stations nearby. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Simple, clean, basic, and functional. This is a good stop if you want something close to the interstate (and don't mind a pared-down experience). Our room did not have a dresser or microwave, but we didn't need either of these things. If you absolutely need a microwave there is one at the front desk, which also serves as the marketplace with snacks and drinks around the other side of the counter... I liked that the room had laminate flooring instead of carpet. I did not like that there is some freeway noise (it quiets down late at night) and the mattress is adequate bot not the most comfortable. The lobby is spacious and well-designed with plenty of seating (convenient during the breakfast hours). Breakfast is, again, basic, with scrambled eggs, pancakes, yogurt, and so forth. The associate who checked us in was very kind and friendly. She gave us a treat for our cat (there is a minimal pet fee). The parking lot is large and well-lit (and there are no parking fees). read more

I'm torn on how to rate. The staff was so friendly and welcoming that I want to honor their hard work, but Hilton, you could do better with this location. Our room was clean and ready when we arrived. There were carts to help us lug our stuff up to our room. Breakfast was just ok. I had oatmeal as I usually do and it was good. TV was great and lots of movie channels. The place just needs some tender love and care. The linens are looking worn. The shower was never really hot. Tru is probably my least favorite Hilton brand but cudos to the staff for making the stay very nice. read more

This is our go to spot when we're traveling westward. We like the rooms are new, fresh, well-maintained, and cleaned. We also appreciate the game area in the downstairs. My teenage boys like to play pool. There are life-size tic-tac-toe games, as well as other things to play they also have alcoves where I saw kids hanging out, playing their video games getting some extra space to stretch. Breakfast is included with this hotel. And I love the fact that they have a gluten-free dedicated toaster, they always have individually wrapped Udi bagels, and a full breakfast for everyone. read more

Convenient location off the freeway. Ample free parking. Room itself was a little small and sterile. Very basic. No carpet or microwave. Dorm room layout. Cute lotion/soap dispenser, but the ones in the shower are really hard to squeeze. Would be almost impossible if you had arthritis or difficulty squeezing things. Made me feel like the old middle age woman I am, not the young chick I think I am ;). Breakfast was nice, but not as good as yesterday at SpringHill Suites (SLC). The ladies working the breakfast station were very hard working and conscientious. Probably didn't hurt that the state health inspector was there. Oatmeal, pancakes, toast, bananas/apples/oranges, juice, eggs/turkey sausage... My fav oatmeal combo is nuts/dried fruit, a package of peanut butter, and sliced bananas on top. This one even had mini chocolate chips and sprinkles :). There's games and a pool table in the lobby. Nice touch. Also like the bulletin board near the elevator with things to do in the area. Paid almost $200 for a standard room midweek. If it was $160 total or less, that would be fair, and I would have increased a star. But, paying close to $200 for a standard room with no carpet in the middle of Nebraska doesn't quite cut it. Guess the Tru model caters to a younger crowd, which apparently I've outgrown! read more

We almost didn't stay here because it doesn't have a pool but thankfully I called to confirm that it didn't have one and they let me know the hotel behind it did and if you stay here you can use the other hotels pool and hot tub! We were thrilled! It's just a walk through the back parking lot and bam, there is your pool and hot tub! But, you get to stay in this more modern updated hotel! Win win! read more

Check-in Process: Simple, Booked the Room through Expedia which in hindsight may have been the more expensive option, as they offer better rates on the Hilton App. Extremely friendly and Helpful Front Desk, Top Tier! Bathroom: Good - Decent Size single sink plenty of counter space, Comes with Hair Dryer and the soap and lotion dispensers are refillable which makes using it easy. I really liked the squeeze ability it worked extremely well and makes a lot less of a mess. They Supplied the necessary 4 towels and washcloths which is always appreciated when checking in with your family. Bad - No Complaints this was a great bathroom. Bedroom: Good - Comfortable Beds, Has mini Fridge and a Desk along with a sorting trash can. Outlets available on both sides of both queen beds which was great. Internet was included and worked great. overall room design was very modern and its nice to have a room with Flooring rather then carpet. Bad - No real Dresser?? Not sure a nice aesthetic replaces the need to put your clothes somewhere. Pillows were a bit soft for my liking and somewhat small. View of the freeway and the noise of the freeway was not great. THe blinds could also cover the window better, it was never really dark enough to block out the light. Parking: Parking was free and is located directly in front and behind the hotel this is not a issue at all. Room Cleaning: Currently they will only clean your room if you ask them to which we did and it was cleaned as expected on time. Perks: This is where the hotel really shines, Pool Table Coffee and Tea and Hot Cocoa 24 hours a day. Outside fire pit, tons of board games. Gym and fully stocked marketplace with everything including alcohol! Room Overall: Room, 2 Queen Beds Priced at $202.34 a night with Taxes its a bit pricey considering the location. Right off Highway 80, a good spot to get through everything North Platte has to offer however it is noisy considering the closeness to the freeway. Hip hotel! Cute and quirky, but you have to know some of the quirks to appreciate them. There are USB ports on all the outlets. Not a ton of desk space in the room--lots of space to work in the lobby. No coffee (or cups) in the room, but coffee and tea are available (with flavor pumps!) in the lobby 24/7. If you want a cup in your room, be sure to grab one by the ice machine in the lobby before you go--right next to the water bottle refill station. The beds are nice, and the pillow selection was top notch. They didn't skimp on the towels either, which was nice. The shower was lovely and had good pressure. Soaps and shampoos are on wall dispensers (I'm allergic to most of these, so it would have been nice to have ingredients listed on the dispenser somewhere). Giant TV. Fridge. No real closet, but there's a place to hang clothes if you need it. There's a pool table in the lobby, and a fire pit! Employee dress is casual--they all wear Tru shirts, like the waitstaff at your favorite local bar. And they're all super nice and helpful! (Granted, the hotel has been open only 5 days as of the writing of this review, so they haven't had time to get jaded yet.) Breakfast is served until 10--no hot options as of yet, but there's a full service waffle station with enough toppings to make a sundae (make yourself a fancy coffee with caramel syrup and whipped cream!), and offerings like Nutella and almond butter. My only other quibble was that there was no guest laundry, and of course, this was the day I desperately needed to do laundry. Murphy's Law, right? That's also coming soon. It will be interesting to see how this branch of Hilton hotels does as time goes on, but so far, two thumbs up! read more

Hipster hotel that cuts corners (but not price). By far the smallest hotel room I've stayed in since NYC - only a couple hundred square feet (max). There's an ironing board and iron, but I think you would have to set it up in the hallway to use. No in-room coffee. Walls are paper thin - I could hear the guy next door grunting and coughing all night - and there is a bizarre continuous bubbling sound coming from the walls that makes me think I'm inside an aquarium. Free breakfast. Nice staff, dog friendly and next to Capone's Restaurant where you can order food to go. A little too cheap chic for me to recommend. read more

Wonderful stay on our way through town. The hotel is very new and modern. It was extremely clean. Being covid times I tend to look out for this even more and had no complaints! The front desk staff were wonderful. We requested extra pillows and they came right up with warmed pillowcases. ( maybe a fluke but a wondeful added touch! I didnt see a pool but I didnt ask so if you want a pool maybe check hotel before booking. They Have a nice firepit they kept going all night which was nice to sit and relax by after a long drive. ( It was even going in the AM at breakfast. The room was clean, basic but exactly what we needed. Its on the smaller side but has good use of space by using a luggage rack above the air conditioner unit, under the bed and lots of hanging spots along the walls. Shower was wonderful, they have larger shamp, cond, body wash and lotion desp. in the bathrooms which smelled amazing.. You can use as little or as much as you want. beats the tiney shampoo bottles most hotels give you. We had 2 adults and 2 children in our room and the size was just fine for us! Lastly breakfast in the AM was good.. with lots of options! If your passing through or in the area I would highly recommend this hotel. The pricepoint was great considering how new and clean this hotel is.. if your on the fense.. just go for it. I tend to be a bit pickier with hotels and I dont have 1 complaint! read more

LOVED this place. Loved the vibe of the building, loved the energy levels of the staff, loved most everything about it. It's a well-designed hotel, making the most of every square foot, and offering a clean, safe, unique place to stay. It's not the cheapest place, but it's well worth it. It's a small room, but they make the most of every inch, and it shows that they've really thought through how to use the space and how to make it a nice stay. It has a mini fridge, good sized bathroom, everything is modern, updated, and clean. The staff have a laid back but professional vibe, and the lobby has a cool set up with a pool table, bright colors, and other recreation, conducive to groups getting together for hang outs (even though that wasn't happening while we were there due to Covid). They also had a breakfast buffet included in the price in the morning, which was disappointing considering Covid and social distancing. We didn't attend since it was a free for all, so didn't feel safe with a baby, but they also offered to go boxes if you preferred, which was thoughtful! They also have a station of Lazzaa coffees and teas if you want something hot any time of day. Great place to stay, will definitely be back to try other Trus in the family of Hiltons. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it's truly terrible. The building is relatively new. Everything is very clean. The staff were very friendly. That's not what makes this place bad. First off, the decor. A hotel room should make you feel comfortable. The decor in this room reminded me of sleeping in my doctors waiting room. The rooms are sterile, with ultra modern decor that reminds one less of home and more of a modern art gallery. No carpets, bad acoustics. Then there were the appliances. What drove me nuts was the AC that rattled like a milk float on a cobbled street. Bad thing about that is, it's the ONLY source of fresh air. Turn off the AC and the room gets stuffy fast. Second annoyance was the refrigerator. 2 hotels and 2 cheap noisy refrigerators. At least this one didn't bury the plug. It was shut off after 15 minutes. Now let's talk lights. There are 3 sets of lights not including the bathroom (I'll get to that in a bit). There is a master switch by the door that must be on for any of the 2 main light switches to operate. Then, it's all or nothing. There were 2 sunken lights above the bed and one hanging light over one of the "nightstands". This set was either all on, or all off. No reading lights for either sleeper. The hall lights were on another switch next to the master. The only other light is one next to the TV. With a switch on the cord. None of this would be too bad except, they chose not to put warmer led bulbs in any of these lights thus adding to the sterile feel to the room. The bathroom was great...except, no fan switch! Took a while for the air to clear in that room. To me, it seems that Hilton decided to make their hotel so no guest would like to stay any longer than is absolutely necessary. read more

There's no electric vehicle charger! They have outlets you can charge from but that's 4 miles/hour. (And the only chargers anywhere in North Platte are at Walmart, and those are closed for repair.) Aside from that it's an ok place. Very new and the people working there are nice. The rooms are tiny but it's generally a one night stop while traveling so no big deal. The breakfast is basic but ok, like most travel hotels. read more

I could hear doors closing at all hours of the night, the room isn't sound proof at all. I heard a dog barking and there is no TV guide or anything to let you know what is on TV and what the channels are, unless maybe the front desk has that information. It would be nice if that information was in the room. Breakfast was not good, nothing hot at all and there were no individually wrapped bagels. I won't stay at this hotel again. read more

Pros: clean, friendly staff, decent price, pet friendly Cons: they're not enforcing masks; guests are running around without them, tiny rooms, no microwave or coffee maker, shower SUCKS - teeny tiny shelf about 1ft off the floor for your shampoo and such, crappy shower head makes getting conditioner out of your hair a chore - no fan in the bathroom, you can hear the interstate, you have to walk through smokers to access the side door (where the rooms are) in this smoke-free hotel, and holy god this place is ugly as sin. Who designed it?! A 13yr old who thought they had talent??? It seriously feels like someone went "I know what millennials like! Blocky, bold colors and grey!". Also: housekeeping NEEDS to check their list before entering rooms. It was 9am for gods sake, 3hrs before check out. if someone says "who's there" when you knock or don't hear a response DON'T use your key to open the door 3 seconds later!!! read more

High quality soaps and lotion in wall dispensers that have a clean sent vs versus flowery. Fitness center, snacks and beverages, including alcohol, available in the lobby which is a nice gathering spot if you have a group. Good breakfast. Excellent staff. This is our number one choice when we travel I 80 a few times a year. read more

Passing through heading home, stayed one night. First thing we had to do is pass through a smoking area right outside the door that lead us to our room. The next morning there were MANY cigarette butts all over the ground and parking lot. Very little amenities at this location. No free breakfast if any kind, no free coffee maker in room or in lobby, no ice bucket in room just a plastic bag by the ice machine. Would not recommend very disappointing. We have stayed several Travelodges that were much better. read more

In August, we travelled by car from Indiana to Southern California, using Marriott Bonvoy points for our nightly hotel stays. When I booked this Fairfield property online, only a small studio was available. When we arrived, I asked the night manager, Bobbi Jo, what options do we have for upgrading to a bigger room, because we needed to unload valuable items from our car each night, and we feared that a studio room was too small. Bobbi Jo understood our dilemma and proceeded to locate a larger room for us as a complimentary upgrade. We were so happy. It really made our day, and a memorable trip overall. Because this is a Marriott property, I don't need to provide further comments other that to say that the room amenities, cleanliness, service, and breakfast buffet were excellent, as we have always expected and experienced. read more

A horrible stay last night... They put me in room 133. A nice and clean room. King sized bed. Cable TV. WIFI. The big problem was, the A/C unit wasn't working. I spoke with the man at the front desk, and he walked me through how to turn the unit on like I'm an idiot, only to have him finally confess that he knew the A/C wasn't working. He said that the quick temperature change supposedly impacted my A/C unit as well as other rooms. What? Then why rent a hotel room to a customer without telling them their A/C unit doesn't work? Their resolution wasn't to move me to a different room with a working HVAC ststem when I called at 8pm. It was to offer me $10 off of a $130 payment to stay Saturday night. Absolutely ridiculous. When I come back to North Platte in a couple weeks, I know where I won't take my business. I won't be staying at the Best Western at 3201 S Jeffers St, North Platte, NE 69101. read more

This was my second stay in a Tru property, and it was just as nice as my first time. Although I was only there to sleep during a long, cross-country drive, it was definitely a comfortable bed and I love that all the soaps are provided in the room. My only complaint is the pillows, they were just so incredibly uncomfortable and flat, even folding them over or stacking them was not enough to salvage them. read more

I had to stay in one of the rooms for three weeks, and while I was gone over the weekend, while room service was cleaning the room, I believe they used some of the things I put into the room for personal use. I distinctively remember cleaning the things I put inside the room before I left for the weekend, and when I came back, they were dirty and they had hair on them.
