This is my 2nd time staying at a Tru location, and I really do like them. Great value for money and clean. Pros: -clean -comfortable bed -liquid soap -surprisingly quiet given that its so close to main road -lots of eating options within walking distance -free bfast (although quality wasn't as good as at comparable places. No waffles/ pancakes) -free wifi -friendly check in -large free parking lot -small gym Cons: -no view (not a big deal)

    2 queens.

Just off I-81 next to a beaten Quality Inn with requisite attached Denny's. Plenty of parking but only 1 set of elevators in the middle of the complex. 4 stories of rooms with a large lobby. Hands free check in with the app was a joke...went all the way through it to still receive a prompt that said I had to check in in the lobby. Well, what's the friggin point of checking in online then? Next...after the front desk clerk tells me to just wait a few minutes and the app will work and will allow me to use my phone to open my room door, I get to my room and it hasn't been cleaned..so...I schlub back downstairs 4 floors to the check in clerk again...he questions me that the room was still dirty...I'm like yeah man, both beds are slept in and not made up. He asks me if room had a sticker...I say no...hes like...oh, ok, yeah it hasn't been cleaned yet. No kidding dude...I just told you that 2x. New room was fine. Window heater/ac unit. Only 1 light turns on with wall switch, all other lights have to be turned on individually at each light..lame. Large bathroom with cheesy shampoo, soap, etc. No taking bottles away here, that's for sure. Wifi was string and free like 'merica, but there were only about 10 basic cable TV channels and no channel directory. Absolutely zero literature in the room to tell you what's nearby or recommended. Additionally when I went to take a shower, I couldn't get any hot water...seiously... not kidding. This is a basic hotel, but it did seem clean. Premade boxes breakfast available to go in a fridge in the lobby and supposedly Lavazza coffee to take away at your leisure 24 hrs a day, but dont expect it to be fresh. Check in clerk dude was busy texting or scrolling on his phone each time I saw him. He was a millennial and had no motivation I could see.

This is the only picture I took but someone else on here left a plethora

I stayed at a Tru up in PA a few months back and really enjoyed it, so when I was passing through Winchester VA last night I booked the one here. As a 22 year old who mostly works on a MacBook, I'm definitely the demographic they're targeting, but I love the work area in the lobby. Very clean and cute without being cramped or loud. The pool was great! Warm and clean. My only complaints are that it's a bit noisy (but I live in Boston so the road sounds are a lullaby to me at this point) and there were no bath towels in our room. (front desk guy Justin was super friendly though and got them right away) And breakfast was cancelled because of the COVID-19 virus, but that's expected. At this point Tru is my go to hotel. Very nice.

Stopped for the night and was pleasantly surprised! The staff were so friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the lobby was a mini entertainment hub. If all that were not enough, the free breakfast was amazing, more variety than I have seen before and all delicious. Will definitely stay with TRU again.

Terrible front desk service in the mornings. Loud maids that wake you up bright and early. The worst Tru experience I've ever had.

Cleanliness of the room and the lobby was 5-stars and I do like how large the lobby is with lots of room to spread out, a pool table, tvs and sofas, etc.

Not great if you are planning a vacation weekend. 2. Like many hotels -there are no towel bars to hang your towels if you want to reuse them for the environments sake. They told me we should place them on the shelf under the sink -no thank you, they won't dry well there. 3. For Senior citizens and others -there is only one grab bar for the shower -at the entry -but there are NO bars to hold onto once you are in the shower. A safety issue in our room there was only a curtain, not a glass four, which would not help if you slipped 4. Internet cuts off intermittently -was not reliable -staff told me to adjust my phone even though it works in every other hotel . Positives : Rooms are quiet . Libby is nice . Cookies on arrival in the evening. Convenient to highways and shopping.

This resulted in me having to book last minute somewhere else and having to pay over $50 dollars more a night working with just what was left. I am certain that I will never stay at a Marriott hotel again seeing as you have no consideration for ADA needs.

A third floor king bed, a large room with a clean minimalist interior, with all the amenities one expects while traveling. The bathroom area had a raised sink and a large walk in shower. Comfortable and quiet, so after a long day it was appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and my shower in the morning had plenty of hot water. I didn't have breakfast, but did grab a coffee for the road. It looked decent enough and the coffee was good. All in all a comfortable stay, and served its purpose. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the front desk staff 01092

Not sure what it was, so tossed it and used a new roll ~There is a minifridge that was actually cold ~No safe available ~The AC unit is pretty loud, so if you're a light sleeper, this may not be ideal for you (temperature control available) HOTEL: ~Depending on who the other guests are, it can be a little noisy/hear lots of hallway noise ~Again, this is a pet friendly hotel, so may wake up to a barking dog here and there COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST (2/5): ~They had a lot of options for pre-prepared food that I liked: yogurts, fruit, cereal ~Hot food was not good: Eggs were basically still in powder form, biscuit was dry and pasty, sausage was rubbery ~I did enjoy the waffle station though: add your desired batter, wait for it to cook, then enjoy! You know how you'd like to leave like a night light on at night and that's always a struggle in hotel rooms but sometimes the bathroom light will have one light that's not as bright as the other. However here, both lights are bright which is really great for putting on make up but not so good for if you want to leave a light on at night. In the main room where the bed is there's lamps on the end tables by the bed and one in the corner by the sofa however there's nothing overhead that would give you the brightness in your main room that you would like. But I came to this hotel some years ago and it was very old and everything inside was old so much that I chose to stay at a different hotel however over the last couple of years they have renovated this hotel and is very modern plus it has a conference center downstairs so if you wanted to have an event there is event space downstairs. Also because the event space is downstairs it doesn't necessarily bother the guests upstairs. However one drawback from that is that the event has to end by 11 o'clock. There's plenty of parking out front and they have breakfast each morning also they keep the coffee and tea out all day as well as hot water if you want to make hot chocolate. All and all it was a great stay in Winchester Virginia
