If you want the best orthodontic treatment in the GTA, the search ends here. About two years ago, a former dentist of mine advised me that while my teeth were straight, the misalignment of my bite was causing force on my lower teeth and in turn, causing recession of my gums. (in laymen's terms - bad, really bad) and I would likely require another stint of braces and orthognathic jaw surgery to rectify the problem. (Don't Google Image this if you have any interest in sleeping. It's not for the faint of heart...which I am.) Being the obstinate individual that I am, I took what she said with a grain of salt, and disregarded it as dentistry scare-tactics and moved on with my day. Fast forward 6 months later during fajita night, for some bizarre, indescribable reason, I finally took note that while my family members were happily biting into their fajitas - I was not quite having the same success. In fact, as I was 'biting' into said fajita, the condiments were all coming out. Okay, that was a little troublesome. I was never particularly ignorant to the fact that my bite was never 100% corrected during my first stint in braces - ten years ago, I was happy to just have straight teeth. Now, now I was cognizant that my teeth simply weren't functional and thus began my obsessive Googling. Cue the panic and a ruined New Years Eve (much to my best friend and boyfriends chagrin) frantically googling jaw surgery, accompanying risks, and overall paranoia surrounding being a twenty-something year old who was actually considering getting braces AGAIN. In the throes of my self-induced despair where I cycled between crying and panicking - I stumbled upon Dr. Tasios website and my crying finally ceased from existence. His website advised of a free consultation, and I decided I would be able to put my mind at ease if I at least went and found out my options. I send in an email and began the waiting game (which I expedited by calling a few days later. I did mention my lack of patience, right?) After more creeping, because in this era of the internet, that's what you do - I learned a good friend of mine's boyfriend was a former patient of him and sung him praises. I was sold. When appointment day came, I was surprised to find that the office was starkly different from my previous orthodontist. It was modern, stylish and welcoming - with an iPad to check in (the future is now, kids), a small games centre and coffee and treats in the waiting room. There was nothing sterile about the environment and the staff were warm and kind. The admin team were extremely hospitable (a vast contrast from my previous stint) and I was soon in a consultation room gripping my boyfriend's hand in a vice grip...which I soon quickly realized was exceptionally unnecessary because... Dr. Tasios is for lack of better words, an orthodontic visionary. He circled around me with careful eyes, and made his assessment: two teeth extractions (because your girl has horse teeth and an itty bitty mouth) and double jaw surgery, OR (bless your heart on this one, seriously) lose four teeth and have my bite 100% corrected (same results, only difference was my profile wasn't going to change.) I took the information he gave me, got into the car and cried in both relief and fear because MY GOD, WAS I REALLY ABOUT TO DO THIS AGAIN?! The answer was yes, yes I was about to do this again - and yes, it's been one of the better adult decisions I've made. In 7 months, not only have my teeth changed (think a wider, brighter smile), but so has my face. My teeth are beginning to fit in ways they never did before and I'm starting to become less cognizant of the way I'm smiling and just smile. Dr. Tasios is a genius and a consummate professional who means business when it comes to getting you the smile you not only want, but deserve. I've still got a year and four months to go on this whole orthodontic journey, but I strongly encourage ANYONE who is considering orthodontics to drop Dr. Tasios and his team a line - the consultation is completely free and the experience is completely unparalleled. I'm already gearing up for my currently nonexistent children to be patients of Dr. Tasios because neither my partner nor I were blessed in the teeth department (and quite honestly, I've learned that having 'straight' teeth is nice, but the alignment of your jaw is equally important.) This experience is truly changing my life and I owe it all to Dr. Tasios and his team.

I've obtained countless quotes and opinions, which all led to the conclusion of needing jaw surgery along side the braces. The difference in my consultation with doctor Walt compared to everyone else I've spoken to was that he himself has had jaw surgery. Which he spoke very fondly about. His personal experience mixed with his professional background gave me all the confidence I've been searching for to begin my journey. To my pleasant surprise I later found out that doctor Walt is not only an amazing orthodontist, but a leader in the industry. Doctor Walt constantly attends conferences either as a guest or speaker, as well as teaches University classes on orthodontic treatment. This is a true testiment of his devotion to his craft. Doctor Walt's office is super high tech, clean, with various kids programs and community involvement. The staff has been nothing but incredible. Always greeting you with a great big smile, picking up the conversation from the last session. You always feel like you are in good hands with people who care. My braces came off the other day and I am ecstatic with the results. My teeth truly turned out better then I could have hope for. My extreme over bite has worn and damaged many of my teeth over the years. Doctor Walt and his team was able to fix it all, and gave me a smile I am no longer self conscious about. This I will forever be grateful for. If you want the best experience backed by industry leading knowledge on orthodontic treatment, you have to visit Dr. Walt.

The dentist didn't give me great vibe, but nothing specific I can point to. I bought a second Groupon, and was told that I could only use it once. That's fine, and I'm not upset about that. What I'm upset about is that the Groupon is advertised as being regularly 495$, yet when I called to make an appointment, they told me their regular fee was 99$ for a checkup and cleaning with X-ray, and 89$ without an X-ray. The groupon is for 79$ without an X ray. I believe it was 50$ for the X-ray when I went in the first time. You do the math. Don't buy the Groupon.

If this is your regular dentist then it's probably fine since they did seem professional and courteous when I did the cleaning. But if you're here for the groupon, just make sure they don't trick you into paying for something you don't need.

The dentist seemed genuine, and said he could fix my front teeth with composite. It was an up sell for sure, due to them being closed during COVID, but who wouldn't go for a flawless smile if offered? I mentioned to him that several other dentists had said I need veneers to fix my front teeth, he said that wasn't the case, and could deliver a perfect smile. I went ahead with the additional services, and it was a nightmare. The Dentist Dr. Navid Milani took a total of 3 attempts to try to get the work right, I quickly learned that he was not experienced, a liar, and filled with excuses. On the first appointment, he tried to fill in lines on my teeth with a shade that absolutely didn't match. He then tried to cover half of the tooth, which again didn't match. Afterward, we came to an agreement that he would cover the entire teeth, giving them a uniform finish. He tried on the third appointment to get the tooth fully covered. In the process, he got some acid etch on my tongue, cracked a joke, and continued working. He was struggling during this session as well, simply unable to delivery what he promised. It was then I realized the type of people working on my mouth. On my forth appointment, he went back on his promise "to make the teeth perfect". He began to play the fool, putting on blue cool lighting, rather than warm yellow lighting where the discoloration was very apparent. He began to say "I don't see the discoloration". He began to say that the teeth needed veneers, which is what I mentioned to him prior! He said, if I knew you were so picky, I wouldn't have done this procedure. So essentially, he wanted to do the bare minimum approach, even if it didn't look right. Extremely disappointed with the poor ethics, and general contractor like logic that this dentist follows. We then got into a heated discussion, and he said he is no longer comfortable working on my teeth. Frankly, I was no longer comfortable with the office overall, but gave them a honest shot to rectify their mistakes. He simply lacks the capacity to do the job right. My smile is literally destroyed, pieces of the composite are disintegrating day by day, missmatch shading on the partial composites. I visited another practice today and they concur that this was indeed a botched job. My teeth now require thousands of dollars to fix, all from a can of worms they unraveled. Dr. Navid Milani repeatedly said "don't be so picky with your smile". Teeth are something people have to look at everyday, and I was fine with looking at the imperfections I was born with. Forgive me, but I am not okay with imperfections put on me by another person's lack of skill/care/etc. Attached is a photo of the work done. You can notice bits missing on corner teeth, mismatched shading, and overall unnatural looking job. There is a very good reason why there are few (if any) before and after photos of their cosmetic work. Angelina is extremely disingenuous , and does not keep her word either. Rather than rectifying this issue, they rather keep piling fake reviews. When they decide to reach out to rectify this issue, I will revise this.
