I love it here. This is one of my happy places. I do only go about once a year during Christmas time to see the Christmas Hallmark movie merch and to pick up a few Christmas gifts. The workers are always very friendly and helpful. There's always time of specials and coupons so make sure your on their mailing list / in their reward club. As far as prices, it's the Hallmark store... Everything is super expensive but also great quality with a well known brand name so no complaints from me. I do wish they would fix up the old McDowell shopping center this store is in so it doesn't look so old and sad on the outside. read more

I've been shopping here for over 20 years, about 10 times a year, and have noticed a lot of employee turnover. I've been waited on by wonderful people, who never stay, which is a shame because you really can't get to know anyone, so the personal touch is lacking. The store used to be "Amy's" Hallmark, now it's "Trudy's". I don't know when that changed, but everything else is the same including high prices on most items, which means I won't be buying a lot there, just a little. In a time when card stores have largely faded into the past, it's refreshing to have one right here in town. The selection is impressive--like stepping into a time machine back to 1982. If only the customer service matched. While the store usually has enough staff, attentiveness can be lacking. For instance, a customer trying to check out might be left waiting while an employee chats with a friend who stopped by. If you're looking to shop here, plan accordingly. The customer service at this location is horrible. There's an elderly lady who works there who is plain rude. The day after Christmas I went in to purchase a big jumbo Snoopy plush and asked, "if there was any discounts due to the 50% off signs displayed inside the store."As soon as I grabbed Snoopy, the employee rudely told me, "there's no discounts on Snoopy." I responded "that is fine." I then asked her if that was the only Snoopy they had in stock and she responded yes. I told it's because there's a stain on it. She then proceeded to tell me, " we don't give discounts for flaws on any products and we don't have any more in stock, you can clean it up with a wet cloth." I ended up buying Snoopy because I really wanted him but I was ready to leave without him. Please Hallmark manager or owner tell your employee to tone it down with the attitude. I have been shopping here for 15+ years. I've always had outstanding customer service. I would say in the last five years they have definitely upped their game as far as gifts are concerned. It is always great to have the regular Hallmark items but they have incorporated, local vendors, and other types of gifts. It is one of my favorite places to buy a gift card because they have many that other stores don't have and in various denominations instead of just ones that start at $50. My latest purchases included these great reusable charcuterie.guides. These were a hit at a birthday party I went to. read more

What an adorable little store with such neat local and name brand gifts! Like most moms with young children, I try to reserve visits at these types stores for when there's not a two year old in tow, but I didn't have that option today. A-Ok! Indeed. Each time I have come for a card, the staff greet me with a smile and ask if they can help me find anything. I usually have a specific card I am looking for but always end up purchasing more. It's been a while since I have shopped in a Hallmark store. Typically I venture to Papyrus but most of their stores tend to be in the city. This is a large store with a wide range of gifts and other items towards the front and along the sides of the building. Now that I think about it, this is definitely more of a gift shop than a card shop. Every holiday calls for the shop to be decked out in the theme. Journals, collectible nicknacks, soaps, calendars and everything in between, can be found here. It is a nice place to find a last minute gift. Parking is immediately in front of the store. read more

I visited the Petaluma store today to buy a card. I waited in line for about 10 minutes and noticed that there were about 5-6 employees around the register area greeting and apologizing to people about the wait. I was in the midst of all the people and not one person addressed or acknowledged my presence. Finally one employee looked at me and asked if I was waiting in line and then told me I was waiting in the wrong place and to get in the back of the "right" line. SO RUDE!!! I noticed that I was the only non-white person in the store. Don't want to be that "person" but why the disparity in the treatment? Maybe the store need a diversity training. read more

i had the greatest experience at this Hallmark Store. the customer service provided by Amanda and later by Jan was exceptional. i was already having what felt like a magical time looking at all the fun new inventory. there is something for everyone. my two girlfriends and I were celebrating my friends last day of treatment and my mother friend never gets out because she is a new mom. We went to Amy's Hallmark Store because it is such a fun experience. I was really down that day and when I left I was so happy and full of joy. Amanda was so very helpful and overheard what I was looking for and showed me the great Harry Potter Stock they have and told me of an up and coming collection. The Christmas items 90% off were awesome. I sure took advantage of that fantastic sale. They have so many wonderful items to choose from for Valentine's Day, Easter, Christmas, pet lovers, Mickey Mouse, etc! The Valentine's cards are a wonderful! Whatever you're looking for, I don't think you will have difficulty finding it. If you have a difficult time, the staff are so eager to help. Amanda and Jan provided such a wonderful customer service. They are such genuinely nice human beings. They made the experience so much fun. Average retail store. Not quite like it use to as the store may be 1/8 cards the rest is all gift bags, gift wrap, knick knacks & gifts. The store lay out had it where you really won't bump into anyone but at the same time there isn't enough product so there is a lot of open/empty space/floor. There is a Yelp coupon when you check in for 20% off one item, however it's useless as it expired 03/31/2014. Honestly, I get a better selection of cards at Safeway & CVS. read more

Each time I have been here, I've been greeted with a friendly and warm smile. Both times were just before closing and honestly, I get a little distracted so while I was trying to rush I just couldn't because there are so many great items (other than cards) here. Neither time did I feel like I was bothering the employees for being there a few minutes before closing and, really, they told me to take me time and it was OK. I've worked retail for six years and I know how it goes. "It's okay, take your time" is usually meant with rolled eyes, a sigh, and an attitude. But I didn't feel that here. I will absolutely come back for the holidays and they've got some wonderful candles I've been nagging my husband for. P.S. It is rude, bullying, and unnecessary; I would not take a "review" to heart if you feel the need to mention that someone is "overweight". It's petty and immature and should have no barring in a review. Perhaps the problem isn't the store, or the lovely employees. read more

Wow I'm a great customer, have been here many times, even if it's the holidays & your so busy....be nice to your patrons. I was in there yesterday & today and both times I left shaking my head in disbelief. I'm in my own business & treat my clients with dignity & total respect. RUDEST store employees I've ever dealt with in particular the overweight manager Mayrna who treated me like dirt over asking her to find another mug to price match the adorable one I found for my friend who had just become a grandmother! She slammed down the mug, shouted at me and then talked bad about me to the woman standing in line behind me! This woman should be FIRED and never be allowed to work retail again!! I am not going to waste my life by writing out the all the other details of this VERY horrible experience but rest assured I did contact corporate office and the woman was beyond APPLAUDED as to how horribly I was treated! I will NEVER again shop at this store again!! On the bright side I did get a 1000 points credited to my Royal Crown account so I hope you read this miserable Mayrna! read more
