Along with fresh foodies, you can pick your own blueberries if you'd like or grab a jar of one of their homemade concoctions. My last visit I grabbed 3 jars, Honey Habanero Mustard, Apple Chipotle BBQ sauce, and Hot Pepper Relish. Still, I was glad to see the homemade breads, pies, and cookies. Do I imagine I'll be swinging by again anytime soon? Parking was surprisingly easy, and once we got started, it was a block and a half of a good time. Now, we did not buy much, but we did enjoy seeing everything and talking to a few people. We were especially excited to buy fruit directly from the farmers! I got a bunch of peaches and nectarines, and let me say I have never in my life tasted such good fruit! I also tried the homemade strawberry & rhubarb pie, and bought the homemade honey with cinnamon. I also especially liked how the Farmer's Market overlooked Silver Beach. It was a nice time, and I look forward to going back before the Farmer's Market season ends this year! Moving onto the apple fry donut with cinnamon sugar. So fresh and delicious. It's a fry cake hence it's fried. But it's not heavy greasy taste etc. I bought some salad dressing and the frozen hand pies. Very friendly and helpful group. All seem very enthusiastic about the products and the customer If it couldn't get any better they had free donuts on the counter. Today was the first day of opening for the season.

There are other fruits available during different times of the year, as well. The u-pick is done based on the honor system, which is very convenient if you want to pick in off hours. When we need frozen blueberries, we call and arrange a time to stop by the farm. Both Schemenauers are very kind, decent, hard-working people. It is worth the extra drive time for us to go to Bangor, when we have 3 blueberry farms within 3 miles of our house! We have recommended this place to many of our friends, and they have said it is worth the drive, as well!

I love being able to learn about local farmers, artisans, and experts in town. They offer several options to exchange funds and many of the vendors take multiple payment options. All of the vendors that I've met have been really kind and fair-priced if not sometimes cheaper than big stores. The social media accounts will often tell you what vendors will be at the market each day and I think that can be really helpful! There's free parking which is really nice but the market does get busy VERY quickly. I know the Saturday markets during the summer can be suuuper busy so I'd recommend going early or knowing you may need to walk.
