We played TB on a 12 person golf trip. The organizer of our trip reserved the scooter cart/bikes months in advance. We drove up from Charleston for the day. When we arrived despite confirming several times weeks beforehand about the bikes we were told immediately there was only 2 available and that the others were being used or broken (?). Apparently reserving them means nothing. That sort of kicked off the tone of the day. This course for the money is in terrible condition. Once you get off the first hole fairways are burned out, patchy, or covered in thatch. The greens got progressively worse and the traps are a disaster. Worst part of this place is the nickel and diming. Trying to relax and play a round and you're met on multiple tees by people asking you for a $50 photo, asking to make donations for things, etc. A one off is fine but when 5-6 holes someone is pitching you something to buy it gets tired. Won't be back. We were supposed to play Caledonia in the afternoon and didn't bother, we just left. Dog track.

Just completed a long weekend of golf in the Pawley's/Murrell's area....and True Blue was the best course we played. This is a well managed golf course. You definitely get a private course vibe, they go out of there way to make you feel appreciated. Even after heavy rains, the course was in immaculate condition, drains better than most. Tee boxes and Greens were in epic shape. Just a beautiful track, wildlife galore...deer, big birds, and gators. Very challenging course w/ more tee boxes than you can count. The biggest compliment I can give them is they do not overbook. We finished in less than 4 hours...after a 6 hour round the day before on a neighboring course. You get what you pay for, this one is well worth a couple extra bucks. Cart girl seemed to pop-up right on time and we closed out our weekend w/ a great lunch in the restaurant..I'd call it a snack bar, but they are a legit restaurant. You cannot go wrong here....the negative reviews must be from jealous competitors.

True Blue is a great little hidden spot to grab a bite to eat. I got Dave's wrap and their locally sourced shoestring fries. It was is always great!

Played True Blue today. Immaculate conditions! Fairways & greens were in prestine conditions! The staff it Top Notch! One of the finest golf courses in the region!

Very lady golfer friendly!! We read some negative reviews about how women are treated poorly!! NOT TRUE!! A wonderful experience was had by all. The pro shop, restaurant and golf staff couldn't have treated us any better. The course was in fantastic shape. Six ladies from NJ, who have opinions and our opinion is; we can't wait to go back!!!

Dog track. Fairways full of weeds and the greens were grainy and pockmarked. Took us 5 hours to play this POS.

Stuffing the course with too many players. Sending out 3 foursomes on #10 ahead of us on the turn. Way over done!

Earlier this year when I played True Blue the Cart Crew guy with the wet towels at the end of my…read moreround told me about this 'hidden gem'. There are 80 plus courses in the MB area now, no wonder they call it the 'golf capital of the world' and yeah they are A LOT of hidden gems. Can you blame me for being a shade skeptical? Not so fast my friend, this course was the final of the Golf Guys Pawley's Island golf extravangaza. There are many things to like about this course. The layout and design of the 18 holes, winding through the Low Country wetlands with Egrets, Osprey's, Herron's and GATORS will keep your head on a swivel as you negotiate creeks, ponds and marsh. The 100 plus year old moss covered Live Oaks are beautiful...and dangerous. Some strategically placed so they block out all but the most strategically placed approach shot from the fairway. The course was in exceptional condition, great tee boxes and greens. The fairways were a little sparse of grass along the edges which made it a challenge to 'pick' your ball out of the fairway. Just a few little nits: The EV Carts don't have GPS so grab your range finder. The only food option is INSIDE the club house and you can NOT call in an order from the course. On a VERY busy Sunday, they had only one lady scrambling all day. Even though they have an experienced Cart Crew at bag drop to help w/check-in, NOTHING about it is intuitive or easy, no signs to #1 or #10 tee, driving range or practice putting green. You HAVE to wait and get one of the CART crew to answer these questions because they DON'T offer any of this info at bag drop. They want to get your bags on a cart and get you into the ProShop to pay. When you finish your round, there are NO signs directing you to CART RETURN. It's all mixed in with the bag drop so yes it's a recipe for CHAOS. Once you've done it, yeah you learn but it could be so much BETTER. All in all, the nits can be forgiven after you play your round because it's such a beautiful course with a great design and so much history and wild life. After your first round, you'll be telling others about this 'Hidden Gem'.

Great course in great condition, friendly staff. Only issue is there is currently construction in…read morethe clubhouse so very limited food choices. Basically, unappetizing hot dog on a roller. There is a cart girl for drinks. Also, no GPS so bring your own and also suggest you pack a sandwich for the near term until they get the full kitchen back on line.

We played Litchfield on the 2nd day of a 3 day tournament, and overall it was a decent experience,…read morethough definitely there was lots of room for improvement around the course. The layout features a lot of doglegs and water, and a lot of it is sneaky. You'll hit a fine shot, only to drive up and realize there is water in a spot you didn't foresee, and suddenly you've lost yet another golf ball. This isn't a course for those who like to grip it and rip it, the fairways are tight and with all the dogleg holes you'll be playing a lot of irons, hybrids, and fairway woods off the tee. Playing conditions for us in early June served up tended fairways and rough, OK tee boxes, but the greens were in dire condition on several holes. Having to putt over bare spots did not suit the tournament environment well. Also, most of the bunkers were more like waste areas than actual sand traps, resulting in some frustration. The staff were great, and elevated this experience from a 3 to a 4 for me. Rangers did not bother us, the beverage cart came around several times, and the grille staff at the turn were awesome as well as speedy. We paid a group rate, but looking at their 18 hole cost for this time of year in Myrtle seems pretty fair. The term "country club" here is pretty loose, if I had paid that rate and had this experience, it would still be a 4, 3 for course conditions, 5 for the staff.

A great afternoon of lunch, range and 9-holes of golf. Great hospitality by the entire staff!read more
