I first met with Michelle for a consultation, where she assured me she would personally handle my entire pregnancy, be on call 24/7, and be present for all appointments. Based on that representation, I paid the $1,500 registration fee. However, at my first prenatal appointment--at 19 weeks--I was suddenly assigned to a completely different midwife without any notice or explanation. The midwife (Robin) appeared inexperienced and unsure of how to perform even basic clinical tasks: * She struggled to operate the balance scale and gave me a weight that was clearly inaccurate. * She incorrectly calculated my due date by four months, despite having my last menstrual period date in front of her. * She could not confidently locate my baby's heartbeat, confused my pulse with the fetal heart rate, and claimed the "fetal heart rate was low" without certainty. * She took my blood pressure over a thick long-sleeve sweater, which is not proper medical procedure. * She then told me to go directly to the emergency room, claiming she had called ahead to have a bed ready. This caused extreme panic and emotional distress. Additionally, if she genuinely believed this was a medical emergency concerning my unborn child, she should have called an ambulance, not told a pregnant woman to get on the highway and drive herself while terrified. That is a fundamental violation of basic safety protocol. While driving--shaken and scared--I called the center back and asked for Michelle. Only then did I learn that I should not go to the hospital and instead return to the birthing center immediately. Michelle also mentioned she had dinner plans, which was unprofessional given the crisis her staff had just created. When I returned, Michelle immediately reassessed me. She used the Doppler and her handheld ultrasound, confirming that my baby was moving normally and not in any distress. She found the heartbeat quickly and without any issue. My baby was perfectly fine. The earlier panic, incorrect information, and poor clinical judgment were completely unnecessary and unacceptable. I have worked in the legal field for over five years, and everything about this experience raises serious concerns about medical malpractice, negligence, and unsafe clinical practices. I requested a full refund and will no longer be receiving care here. I will also be reporting this incident to the Florida Department of Health, as no expectant mother should be subjected to incorrect medical information, unsafe instructions, or avoidable fear. Expectant mothers deserve competent, consistent, and safe care--not panic, confusion, and contradictory assessments.

My baby came out healthy and my birth was very smooth. If you're thinking about having a natural birth, I would 100% recommend heart 2 heart. It's a different but very intimate and surreal experience. could not recommend this place enough! If I ever have another child, we're definitely coming back!

Linda New, Alicia M, the ultrasound tech (at the Lake Mary location) and Carmon R were wonderful. But the practice as a whole.. I will NEVER have a baby there again. During my OB care, I switched my care to Carmon when another nurse made me feel absolutely horrible for gaining weight during my pregnancy. I saw an OB at altamonte who saw me and sent me on my way in five minutes when I was there because they saw things wrong in my ultrasound and I was having a lot of anxiety since my birthing plan got switched to a required/scheduled c-section. My c-section was supposed to be on a Monday, received no Communication about it. But got a call Tuesday morning asking me if I had had my baby yet. (I told them obviously not) and then told me that they couldn't get me in on Monday. So now that it's Tuesday, they'd try for Wednesday. I was scheduled, and then cancelled within A couple of hours. To say I was upset was an understatement. I then had to call the surgical coordinator and had to leave a long message about needing to get scheduled asap (Since I was told by a specialist to not go past 39 weeks since my baby was showing signs of problems and at that point I was past 39 weeks). I was finally scheduled on a Thursday, with an OB from the hospital who I had never met. The hospital themselves were beyond confused when I showed up and didn't have an OB from the Practice. When I explained what happened, their response was "oh, we always have problems with that practice. We always recommend ANYWHERE else". So make the decision that's best for you, but that was the experience I had.

The waiting room has two seating sections and the room feels very open, which is a nice change from other office waiting rooms (can you say cramped?). The rooms in the back are also of a decent size and while some of the cabinets may seem a bit dated, everything feels clean. I've had a pleasant experience during each of my visits with both the staff and Dr. Jahagirdar. The nurses and front desk are very helpful and keep me up to date on any of my lab work or account standing. Dr. Jahagirdar herself is very thorough and comprehensive in her work and in responses to any questions you may have. She's personable and has provided me with great service and feedback in the two years I have seen her. No complaints!

I've been going for a few years and I can't imagine seeing anyone else. That said, the front desk receptionist, Terry, is the absolute nastiest person I've ever met in healthcare. I can't for the life of me figure out why she is in any industry that interacts with humans...every year I make my annual appointment and dread having to communicate with Terry. She is the type of person who puts your day on a worse path than what you started on, always. I truly hope this office finds someone else because I'd love to stay, but not at the expense of being barked at like a dog :/
