Best Taxidermist I know! Beautiful work! John is also the nicest guy you will ever meet.read more

It's been a while since I tried to do business with John and didn't want to write this in anger. I…read morehad a snow goose I wanted mounted and John sat down with me on 1-22-20 and we discussed the mount and I gave him a deposit. I was okay that it was going to take 1 year for me to get it back. After the year went by, I tried back and forth to get a hold of him and it was impossible. So I stated that I needed a call back or I will be forced to turn this over to small claims court and then John sent me a text. John asked for a couple of months more on 2-10-21, due to his family medical issues (which I won't say how low he went on this one and not COVID). I agreed and wished him and his family well. After the next couple months same story, no answer no communication. He finally texted me and gave me all these excuses, and that he even cut his finger off. He even sent me a picture. I still have all of this on my cell phone if anyone wants to see!! After all of the headaches, he finally asked me to come get my deposit and snow goose on 6-14-21. After all of this, he never even started on my goose and the beak of the goose was cracked due to the freezer and lack of hydration!! (I know this as I tried to have another taxidermist save my goose from a wasteful kill) Nice!! Run from this guy, he is not worth any price even if it's free. Never again. Not even worth 1 star

This is not the kind of place that I could photograph to show you exactly how spooky, haunting, and…read moreartistic The Creeper Gallery is. I had recently travelled to New Orleans and was so disappointed by the "voodoo" stores and haunted shops there- their wares all felt so kitschy and touristy there was nothing haunting to find interest in. The Creeper Gallery satisfied my hunger for haunted and unsettling objects. The display was laid out with such a wonderful touch, I found myself ambling around the store at a comfortable pace. This perfection in arrangement is hard to achieve in the average gallery. The sculptures were so interesting I would have bought one of it wouldn't have scared the bejesus out of my roommates. It was cool to see "haunted" items that legitimately did look haunted for once. I am hoping this gallery never loses its authenticity and curiosity. Stay creepy!!

Yet another gem in New Hope. This shop fits in perfectly with the vibe in this town and it is right…read moreup my (dark) alley. I spent some time here reading the inscriptions describing each item, but there were a few other people there when we were there and the small shop quickly becomes crowded, so I wanted to be respectful and not hog up all the space. I could spend lots of time here though and this won't be my last visit. The shop owner was catching up with an old friend who had stopped in, so I didn't get a chance to interact with her, but she was very welcoming to her store. Spooky little addition to Main Street. Perfect season to get your dose of the creeps.

The owner is super friendly plus he has an adorable dog that is also friendly! He's also knowledgeable and has many stories. The display area is just one room in the front but it's filled with a good variety of animals. The animals are so life like. I could get up close to the animals to really see them. You can also touch them. Every time I'm in Collingswood I stop by!

Walking down the street, checking out the shops, and all of a sudden I notice a coyote looking at me through the door of one of the shops. I did a double take and turn back to look closer. I look inside and see, yes, a coyote(!!!) looking out the front door. Of course I step on inside and see a menagerie unlike any I EVER expected to see in South Jersey, let alone right on the street for free in Collingswood. A moose (okay just his head it still, it's GIGANTIC!) A WHITE WOLF, a grizzly bear, suspended in action and time. A gorgeous bobcat. Many deer heads, of course. Ducks of all kinds, feathers glowing in the sunshine. Turkeys. And they're BEAUTIFUL. Granted, I am no taxidermy expert, but I have seen my share in natural history museums and online. These are so incredibly lifelike. My entire opinion on taxidermy is changed after coming here and seeing these beautiful animals, frozen in time, to admire up close. The owner, Tony, has a wealth of knowledge about and a huge respect for animals. He took probably an hour out of his day to talk to me about his craft and shared with me all kinds of information about the different animals. He's an incredibly interesting guy with a really unique talent for preserving the animals and making them look life like. Next time you are on Haddon Ave, go check out his shop. Seriously I had no idea these things could be so beautiful. Also as I said the owner is just incredibly nice and interesting and seems happy to take his time to educate you about what you are looking at. Stopping in his shop yesterday was one of the most entertaining and interesting experiences I've had in a while. Also, tell your hunter friends about Baratta's! I have no idea about costs or anything but I can bet most hunters would LOVE to have a keepsake like these.
