Over the past three months I have seen five massage therapist from this company and they have all…read morebeen fantastic. Someone from another location mentioned Amy (at this location) and her Cranial Sacral Massages (which is more like reiki I've come to find out) and that really gave me a shift. I have a lot physical work to do and a lot of emotional release to do and the people I worked with were great at both. I have issues with my lumbar and thoracic, a disc that lost fluid, a shoulder that was damaged in childhood and somehow ignored for so long, post-surgical issues for decades- basically I'm now over 40 and falling apart given my history of medical issues (poor genetic luck) and so I decided invest and get massages twice a week for a month and at least weekly for the next month. It's costly but it's cheaper to do a bunch in a month instead of dabbling with it for years and not seeing much progress. I had a friend who was considering a massage but nervous and I advised him to book a half-hour session and see how it goes with the intention of finding a place and person that he feels comfortable buying a full massage once a week for a month since he needs therapeutic work on the body. Point is, the facilities at the two locations I've been to were clean, inviting, and the staff was always appropriately friendly and helpful. How I started with this place was from a Groupon to another massage therapist (Adam) who said I needed a lot of work (which I already knew) and told me he worked with Oak Haven as he was pursuing different avenues in the healing arts but he has a few people at Oak Haven that he really trust with his body and recommended me to them.

The first time I visited Oak Haven Massage, I had a great experience with Christian. He was kind,…read moreknowledgeable, and tailored the massage to my preferred pressure level. My experience with him encouraged me to sign up for the membership, which I tried out for a few months. The price is reasonable at $90 per month which includes one 50 minute massage with a tier 1 therapist. Tier 2 and above are an additional cost. I tried a few different tier 1 therapists and unfortunately didn't have a very relaxing or positive experience with any of them. I also found appointments consistently started late but ended exactly on time, meaning massage time was cut by 5-10 minutes. This was frustrating and needs to be addressed.

Susanna was my "regular" masseuse when I was stationed up in Killeen and would visit Austin. She…read morealways made me feel comfortable and at ease and took the time to chat about me and my needs. It had actually been almost 5 years since I had last seen her and after a recent apartment move, I needed her services for my aching body! It was like visiting an old friend and I remembered just how awesome of a person she is and that I should not have let so much time go by without visiting her. A mistake I will try to not repeat even though I have to leave Austin temporarily. She is able to provide the most gentle touch, as well as deep therapeutic pressure for those stubborn knots that don't work with anything else. I have always felt that her skills make me feel relaxed even though I need her stronger touch throughout the session at some points. Her massage room is super cozy and will help you feel completely at ease. Oh, and one final note for those that are more self conscious or don't like to bare all of their goodies! Susanna let's you undress to your level of comfort and always provides a blanket to keep you covered regardless of how bare you go! Don't worry about leaving all oily either. She uses only the best and always wipes any excess allowing anyone to leave like a smooth zombie needing a ride home or at least a few minutes in the parking lot to gather the senses! Try her out. You can thank me later!

Her office is in a nice business park and she keeps everything impeccablly clean and welcoming. She is generous with her time. She let's you set the pace with talking, if ya wanna, but always lets me fall into glorious moments of meditative, peaceful silence. Basically she's very friendly but a consummate professional that can read her customers cues very well. Though she is trained and highly experienced, Susanna seems to often take continuing education courses to increase her knowledge or add another specialty - I really appreciate that! Look into her monthly membership to get the best deal. Try out the hot stone treatment, just did my first one recently and it was neat and really kept me focused on being grounded in my body and that moment because the hot stones kept being introduced to new areas as she progressed with the massage. I just can't say enough about Susanna, she's a salt of the earth type person and highly skilled at her craft!

This time around, I was really tempted to stop my lady 5 min into the massage because she just (excuse my language) sucked. I've had several massages in various places around Austin & Dallas, and she clearly had no idea what she was doing. It wasn't even a matter of pressure or how hard she was jabbing me in all the wrong places - she had no idea what she was doing. I wasn't going to stop her just to tell her she sucked at her job. The massage didn't get any better and the hour couldn't have come sooner. I had told my fiancé I was tempted to not provide tip for my lady, but of course, we agreed to tip since we have a background in the service industry. She knocked on the door in a rush to get my fiancé and I to exit upon completion, rushed to put a bottle in his hand, didn't seem to want to give me the other bottle, and then immediately asked "my tip?" Super rude. I've never had anyone ask for a tip immediately after a crapshoot service without even the niceties of small talk & asking how it went. My fiancé wrote down a 20% tip for the service - which is more than fair for what we got - all the while she's trying to see - very blatantly - what he's writing down. She immediately grabs it from him before he could put his pens down and mutters out loud "so sad...". Wow. Just wow. Will never come here again.
