During Covid, the staff delivered warm meals to each apartment for more than a year. The President and VP during Covid went to WaWa each day in their car to pick up personal items for residents who could not go out. The meals here are restaurant quality. My spouse was in assisted living after returning from the hospital and he was given the best of care until he could return to independent living. I am baffled by the few negative comments. No place is perfect but Riddle Village goes above and beyond to make residents happy. RV also has a full time medical doctor on staff Monday through Friday. He is also the primary care physician for many residents in independent living. The President and VP are always available for comments and attend many of the activities and play in tournaments with the residents. They are seen on a daily basis all over our campus. The residents here are very friendly and kind and look out for each other. We are lucky to live here!!!!!!!!

Entering the community, your Security is very cordial and professional. Fran, one of the Security Team, was always very pleasant and we chatted with her about bringing up the sunshine from Florida. She was very amiable and always smiling. You can be very proud of her, and her team, by providing excellent security throughout the complex. In addition, we have had interaction with Melissa, at the front desk at the Cardinal Clubhouse. She is very helpful and works hard to meet everyone's needs. It's not always easy, but she is a real professional. It was nice seeing Mr. Robert Squillace again. He is the Accounting Office Coordinador. Always very personable, whenever we have financial questions, he is happy to answer them. We have dined with Mom and the food is excellent and full seating will be back shortly. Melissa Donovan was professional, kind and compassionate to our family's unique situation which included a super quick transition to assisted living for our mom. My brother and I live out of state; thanks to Melissa we were able to set everything up through emails and texts 5 days prior to her move-in date! Melissa communicated with us daily so we would have a smooth transition, and we cannot thank her enough. The staff at Merrill Gardens are top notch and really care about the residents. Everyone made mom feel welcome right away, she has been living there for only 3 weeks and is happily enjoying her daily activities. Moving to Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills has greatly improved her quality of life and it's a blessing for us to know she is happy and in such good hands. We love hearing her talk about her day every evening. The maintenance staff and guest services continue to help and check in to make sure mom is settling in since we went back home. Our 95 year old Dad entered Glen Mills Merrill Gardens in mid April. He had come from his home…read moreinto a facility for the first time in his life. We are a family of 8 adult children who spent time daily visiting our Dad. The service presented and sold to us was not what we came to experience. We witnessed staffing shortages especially weekends almost without exception. The staff was stretched to beyond ability to meet the unit needs. It was clear that this facility was not equipped to operate a Memory Care unit and it was the part of the business with the lowest priority for cleanliness, food prep/quality, staffing and oversight. There were some very good caregivers but there were also some that lacked training in dementia and understanding of the service that was promised. We now have our Dad in another facility and can see the difference in training and care. I will not go into further detail in this review...just understand if you are looking at this facility, the person selling you the service is stating what should be happening vs what actually is. You will not see in a tour what is happening especially evenings and weekends.

Three people to a room, blood splatters on the equipment and wall. The place smelled so bad it was enough to gag you. A mixture of filth, urine, feces, and decay. My father-in-law was sent there from Paoli hospital, in less then 10 hours, we had to call 911 to get him medical treatment. The so called nurse ignored our pleas to get him help for the blood clots clearly floating in the collection bag and his screaming out in pain ( caused by a bad PEG tube in his stomach fund at the ER and an infected catheter) The ambulance crew were astonished at the poor condition and lack of staff cooperation and immediately agreed to transport him out of the bowels of hell. Found out later Dad was repeatedly asking to use the bathroom and was ignored (he was bed ridden) begging for assistance and a bed pan at least. He could no longer hold his bowels and was forced to move to the side of the bed and poop on the floor. The staff were yelling at him about it when we got there at 900AM that morning. When we called 911, the nurse stopped administering any aid and went behind the desk at sat his fat ass down.
