My boyfriend kept getting advertisements for TruGreen and because our lawn is infested with crabgrass. We decided to give them a try but didn't really know what to expect. A man came the first day and sprayed some stuff on the lawn after a couple weeks the crabgrass didn't seem to be browning or going away so my boyfriend called and asked what exactly we should expect from a one time visit. They sent someone back a few weeks later to spray more (I guess) because someone came to spray even more on our lawn. Needless to say we will be canceling our service. But not because the person coming to our house was bad or mean. He was actually very nice. Our main and BIGGEST issue is the lack of communication. Both visits no one called and set up a time to come. They just showed up and went through our yard. We really wouldn't mind that except we have a dog who likes to run away and we usually just let him out whenever he wants. He loves being outside so usually he's outback playing. TruGreen opened our back gate and went into our yard without making sure or asking if our dog was inside. Thankful he was at doggy daycare today. Gave them another try this year after many promises. Paid upfront for services and as of September 23 I've received three of seven services. My grass has brown spots and is destroyed since they have not come as they should or even cared for it. What a nightmare. I complained to the company about my experience. I was told that the manager will call me and they will send another technician. The manager never called me. Another person showed up on 4/24/2023. I was not home but, I observed him on my Ring camera. He rang my door bell and stood for a few seconds. Then he went back to the truck, brought a bill and stuck it on my screen door. Cancelled Tru-Green, (or should I say; TRU-BROWN"!!!) After posting YELP Review last week (trying to get through on the phone which I was left waiting 30 minutes to no avail, and firing Tru-Green) Today, out of the Blue comes a Tru-Green Representative. My yard he said has RED THREAD. I also added more than likey infestation of Grubs too! He then asked if I new what Red Thread was, I told him. The major cause of Red Thread is not enough NITROGEN in the soil. NITROGEN = FERTILIZER, so what the hell have they been putting on my lawn the last 2 years???? WATER????? Regardless, my lawn is in shambles and will take a few years of proper care to restore it to the condition of PRE-Tru-Green. My advice, do it yourself, know what product and quantity you're applying and take a few minutes to learn about lawn care. I just terminated my second year with TruGreen. My yard was left with weeds and crabgrass all over the lawn after it was not serviced. I had to call repeatedly in order to get my lawn serviced and my service continued to get canceled or pushed out. Don't know how to give less than one star so giving it one. This is my first review, I had lot of bad experiences with some organizations but never felt the rage to talk bald about them, but these guys took it to the next level. New home owner and first time customer, so I asked them to do a soil test before their first application, but they did 2 applications till now and they never did the soil test. The grass was going lighter green and then to brown in some spots, so I asked them if was due to over fertilizing and do the soil test, but they said it was bent grass. Still trusted them and Signed up for aerating and reseeding and they didn't show up for three appointments that they have scheduled. It takes at least two hours to mov and prep the lawn. When I call them and ask why they missed, they always balm it on the person who spoke to me earlier saying they didn't setup the appointment correctly. They give you false information to cover their mistakes. And they expect everything will be taken care of by just apologizing. I can guarantee that no two reps can give the same answer, that much disorganized they are. read more

I wish I had read reviews before spending my money. I got the mosquito and lawn service. I couldn't be any less pleased with them on both! My yard is a mess and bugs were constantly a problem! I called them back out once for mosquitos and they did come back out a few days later. Then in August I was planning a large backyard party and still I was getting mosquitos so called to see when my next application was scheduled. It was for the following week. I asked since my party was Sunday could they come a few days sooner. I was told no. I said well since I'm still getting mosquitos can you do a service call and was told no because it's too close to my reg scheduled spray! So, after contacting Trugreen at least 7 to 8 times they finally decided to come to my home today. Once again the gentleman was supposed to call me before showing up he did not. He got out of the truck looked at my lawn and said it was Bent grass that was causing the problem. Now, I have lived here almost 30 years and have never had this problem. Also, I've had several people come and look at my lawn and they all say that it was burnt with fertilizer. Despite poor reviews from several people I decided to roll the dice with TG last season. When I agreed to the contract on the phone, I shared how this was a test run for me. If they deliver as promised I would be happy to renew the contract and sing their praise on social media. Well, after the first treatment and even though we had a schedule of subsequent visits, they never showed up. I had to call to remind them it had been well after the allotted time between applications. During one phone conversation I was told, my address wasn't in the computer. Finally they "found" it and promised a treatment within 48hrs considering my lawn was long overdue. The tech just hours before the appointment texted saying the appt had been canceled. Furious I called and voiced my concern. I was told the manger would call me. It's been months, I haven't heard. Two weeks ago, I received a text saying my contract was auto renewed and that the tech would be at my address the next day. I called, explained I never renewed, the manager never returned my call last season and that their company was run poorly. The nice lady apologized and told me she would have the general manager call me within 48 hrs. She explained the detailed notation she entered in the computer, that it was flagged urgent and assured me the GM would call. It's been two weeks, no call back. Terrible company who professes to be an "all encompassing" service provider. right now, they are spraying dormant oil on trees that have not gone dormant at my condo association. Any reputable tree service company knows that you don't spray dormant oil unless the temperature is above 40 and is going to stay above 40 for 24-48 hrs, and there is no rain or high winds in the forecast. Now? Thermometer is reading 38, high of 26 tomorrow with gale force winds tonight and tomorrow. Did TruGreen cancel? Nope. "TruGreen" is so misleading. They are still ChemLawn. Ok so I read these but I've never bothered to take the time to sign up for a Yelp account but I just HAD TO because of Trugreen's awful service! When I first read the reviews, I'm thinking that, oh cmon, people are too picky and don't understand that it takes a while (year) to see good results from lawn treatment. So I figured I'd give them a try and see for myself. I found out real quick how bad they are! I had 3 visits. The very first one, the kid put the wrong fertilizer in the spreader, had to bring it back out to the truck. He picked up the spreader to try to dump it back in the bag. He spilled it on the street. The wheel then broke off. He then stated to curse/swear. He tried to clean up what he spilled but there was still plenty left on the street. The second application of fertilizer was ok, no issues. The third visit was core aeration with overseeing. They rushed through and missed several spots. Then on the slip they left, it had the wrong name and address. The NEXT DAY I get a call from TruGreen asking me if I'm interested in getting my lawn aearated and seeded ‍. I told them they were just here yesterday! That was it. Background: I had contracted with Truegreen for the last 2 years (2015/2016) for 5 applications of fertilizer/weed control and insecticide. Always negotiated a price for the service and prepaid for the additional discount. This year we are raising Bees and could not have any chemicals applied to our lawn so I choose not to continue with the service. Truegreen send an offer for service and I never accepted or called to finalize a contract. When I discover they had applied an application without my consent I called and confirmed that I had not agreed to the service this year and not to make any further applications. They continued to send invoices for the applications they applied and I again called to find out they they do not need any acknowledgement or agreement from me to continue the service so I was responsible for this balance. They have since referred this to a collection agency (Transworld Systems) for collection. I call Truegreenn one more time and said that they require me to pay this bill. My issue my problem. I have just had the rudiest customer service person by the name of Kelsy. I called about a card I received saying they were going paperless and said I owed a balance so I called and explained I shouldn't have any balance because everything was paid for the last October application. Do not use their pest control services. Bought a new house and signed up with them in March and prepayed for the whole season of mosquito, tics, and all the other bugs they can get rid of. They were suppose to be at the house within a week to spray for tics and no one showed. Tried calling for over a month with no response. Finally got someone who apologized and got someone out within a few days, problem was they only sprayed the rear portion of the yard. Then never heard back or saw anyone. Called again and asked when my next schedule was, but I wasn't on the schedule because "someone messed up". This was around Easter and they got someone over within a few days. Now it's End of June/early July and still no one. I called and again I'm not on the schedule and they can't see me for two weeks. First year with Trugreen and paid $450 for their "expert" services. Bottom line is it now late August and my lawn doesnt look any better then when I do it myself and its worse in some areas. I have large areas where grass is dead. I thought the service included lime which it doesnt and they didnt tell me to put any down. They said service came with soil test which wasnt done until I asked for it and then it took over a month to get results which just came back today (after calling them for a week without getting return calls).
