This is the most screwed up company I've ever dealt with. 1. The billing was wrong each time they came, and I had to call to get it corrected each time they came. 2. Thought things were going great lawn was looking good, until the guy BURNED my yard up. 3. Each time they came, I got a report stating things looked good, just not to cut the grass so short. BUT then I would get a call the next day stating I had bugs destroying my shrubs and needed additional treatment. I do NOT have one single shrub in my yard. Yet, the continued to call me and tell me this the day after each treatment. 4. After we completed our contract, in January I started getting alerts that they were coming for treatments. It took me THREE times calling and telling them my contract was over, until finally someone said that it doesn't ever end unless you call to completely cancel. 5. They continue to call you WEEKLY even if you tell them to STOP calling. 6. They stopped by days after me telling them NOT to call anymore. This has gone on since December (it's now February) until last week. We shall see if they call this week. read more

TruGreen has to be the example of how not to run a company! They treated a lawn from a house that I havent lived in for over 4 years and havent used the service again until April 2024 when I bought a new house in a different city. They said I should have notified them that I moved. If I started a new service for my current address then why would I need to notify that I moved from an old address that hasnt had trugreen service to it for over 4 years? Customer service is rude and no one knows how to fix anything as it goes to a call center... no direct contact with local offices. Overall its too expensive and poor management. They only TruGreen is the green dollars you pay to them as my lawn looks worse than before treatment. Perhaps the guy who lives in my old house has a nice lawn since they have been treating it. read more

I have used TruGreen for six years or longer. It is now into November (lawn going dormant) and my lawn is the worst looking in this neighborhood. There is such a contrast with my neighbor's lawn that maybe he should take care of my lawn. I called to talk to TruGreen about it and was told by a customer service rep that someone would be out in about five days. They sent someone out and he spread about 100 pounds of lime on my lawn and told me to do the same each month. I have a billing question and am always told that they can't answer the question. You never seem to be able to talk to anyone that does more than spread fertilizer or take phone messages. I have to say that I am disappointed with TruGreen that my lawn looks as bad as it does. I will be considering other options unless they change their local and corporate behavior. read more

We've used TruGreen for several years, and the quality of work is inconsistent. We thought we discontinued the service last year but found that the service "auto-renews" if the homeowner doesn't specifically contact the local office to cancel the contract, so we were on the hook for this year's treatments. The tree service was overpriced for what we got, and I observed one of their agents spraying trees in the rain and spraying a tree over a stocked goldfish pond. How is a sprayed-on treatment going to adhere to wet leaves? And who would want chemicals that are potentially toxic to fish introduced to a pond because the agent was too lazy to drag the hose to a different position? Finally, I find that i get upset when I get a note from TruGreen telling me about problems with my lawn. They're the ones doing the treatment. When there's a problem with my lawn, isn't that an indictment against the quality of the service TruGreen has provided? A few of the TruGreen people seem to be conscientious, but they are the exception rather than the rule. read more

Truegreen might benefit from training their employees in customer relations. Or just simple common courtesy. With plenty of parking closer to their customer, truegreen employees twice have parked in my actual driveway, and have only moved after several requests. Today was the last straw. A truegreen employee parked in the road IN FRONT of my driveway, alerting our dog. (2 different people have been to the emergency room in the last 2 weeks from our house), so I'm not really comfortable being blocked in. When I pointed out the 10 other spots he could park, and asked him to move his truck, he angrily asked me if I was leaving. When I asked him again to move, he pulled up just enough to clear the driveway, and parked in front of my house. The strange thing is this... they could park right in front of customer's house, and not have to carry/haul all their stuff up the hill. No logic. I wouldn't even consider hiring them after my experience with the 2 different employees. ALSO, there seems to be absolutely no way to call and talk to any human being. Every number, including the local Teays Valley number, forward to the corporate black hole of waiting for 30 minutes to speak to anyone. Maybe they get so many complaints, that's just how they've decided to handle things. Very rude, unreasonable, and inconsiderate all around. read more

Horrible business. Has drivers in loaded up trucks driving around South Charleston being inconsiderate and illegally playing on iPads mounted in the trucks. Never will they get business from me. read more

Terrible service. We switched from another lawn company due to a better price and mushrooms grew in our yard. I called and cancelled the service and advised I was not paying for the application which was @$49 and the employee said she would let her manager know and the phone call ended. Two weeks later I end up w a collection letter from transworld and I called TruGreen to have them correct the collection and she said she could not and that trugreen does not treat for mushrooms because it is not a weed. This is goes against the trugreen website stating 'Healthy Lawn Guarantee'....a healthy lawn should not be growing mushrooms. We have lived here for 6 years and NEVER had them prior to their service. My neighbors have also agreed that trugreen is not a good company. read more
