agree with all the other reviews. DO NOT CHOOSE THEM for any lawn care needs. Poor lawn results. I will be switching to buckeye.

We didn't pick TruGreen. A few years ago, Chuck for Unique Lawncare was going around giving lawn quotes. We needed an aeration, and Chuck gave a quote with overseeding that was reasonable and immediate (we'd been waiting to hear back from Buckeye Ecocare but they didn't want any new business, it seemed). Unique was okay enough to prepay for another year and we did so again this past year as well. Trugreen has since acquired Unique. Not sure if it's a coincidence, but the lawn hasn't been the same since TruGreen took over. We prepaid Unique for aeration, but it's not happened yet. Trugreen says they'll do it before end of November! Usually Unique did the service in September before leaves all fell or the ground started to frost each night, but Trugreen is not Unique. Absolutely disgusted. No idea when aeration will occur, but I know we're switching companies. Trugreen sucks. read more

Beware! Technicians are lazy & lie! I have had numerous issues! They accidentally completed a mosquito treatment instead of my lawn fertilizer/weed control, then it was rescheduled to be done & the whole family was home & outside most of the day & I get a notification on my phone that the service was completed when nobody ever showed up at all. I message the online chat service after hours & they say a manager will call me. 2 months went by & no call! I had a lady come out to do my mosquito service & she only did 1/4 of my back yard. I go outside to ask her about it & she tells me that they are instructed to only go back 20 feet from the back of my house, which is absurd & defeats the whole point of paying for the service. I have 3/4 of an acre & lots of wooded area on my property line that needs sprayed. I told her I was going to have to call & figure out why they can only go back 20ft & she instantly was like, "oh no, you don't need to call, i'll do it now". Then had a guy come out & do the service super early before I woke up & left a note on the door that said he applied fertilizer & no weed control (my entire reason for hiring them). Called to reschedule & told them i only need the weed control done, don't want it re-fertilized or it will burn up my grass. Guy comes out & re-fertilizes! Had a guy come out today. I have the app, so i receive notifications on my phone of when they are on their way, when they arrive, etc. I'm sitting in my living room just looking out the window to watch his work because I don't trust them at this point & the guy just sits in the truck for about 15 min then gets out, but i'm walking around the house looking out windows & can't see him in my yard. I open the garage door & walk outside & see him spraying the side of the house, which is a small sliver of property between my driveway & the neighbors yard. Then next thing i know i got a notification on my phone that said my service was completed! He didn't touch my back yard or my entire front yard! He left a paper on my door handle stating he thoroughly inspected my entire yard for weeds & sprayed weed killer where needed! My yard is completely taken over by Creeping Charlie weeds which is an invasive vining weed & the entire reason I hired them. It would have taken him a long time to spray all the weeds! They have supposedly treated my yard 4 times & i have yet to see any weeds die, though I do have several patches of dead grass! I even have a spot in my yard with almost knee-high weeds where we had a tree cut down. The lack of work ethic is just insane to me! I called to report today's issues & requested a manager & they immediately said that wasn't an option & they can't transfer me. Said they tried to get a supervisor, but that they weren't available either. They gave me a refund for today & said a manager would be in touch. Buyer Beware!!! Trugreen will add treatments onto your account even though they are not on your pre-paid contract of services and you did not authorize those services. They just showed up one day when I was not home and Aerated & Seeded my lawn. Now they insist I have to pay them the $500 for that service. This is both immoral and fraudulent business practice in my view I tried to contact the Dayton Ohio Office (I'm in Beavercreek) several times but they are not accessible on the phone. I contacted them 3 times by emailing Customer, but they keep telling me I have to pay for their Service that I never authorized them to do. read more

Absolutely THE WORST lawn care company that you could possibly hire. Still having nightmares of how this company ruined my lawn last summer, and kept coming back multiple times AFTER I'd fired them....to dump more chemicals in my yard so they could bill me for more treatments. Finally had to threaten them that they would be shot as trespassers if they stepped onto my property again. That finally got their attention, and they stopped service. BEWARE!!! These people dont know what they're doing, and will charge you an immense amount money while simultaneously ruining your lawn. And then at the end if the season, they'll have their telemarketers bombard you with phone calls to upsell you on seeding your thinned out grass previously damaged by their fertilization service employees. THIS IS FOR TRUGREEN SPRINGBORO, OHIO Below is the email I sent to TruGreen. They really do not seem to know what's going on. The app even had my old address in it (which was 3 years ago) and they couldn't fix that either and told me just to not use the app. This entire year has been a problem with TruGreen. My first appt was moved many many times and only when I was told I was cancelling did someone come out quickly. I believe this was April 10th. This past time I was told my next visit was May 29th. No one arrived on that date and I got a text saying the person was going to come out June 1st. I needed to talk to the person about my yard and was not going to be home on that day. I called and during this time I was put on hold multiple times for over 30 minutes while the person on the end other said my account seemed to be messed up, they saw all my next treatments had been cancelled to which I replied how can that be when I just got a text saying they were coming monday? She didn't know and was working from home and skyping/texting with her manager. (she was polite but not very good) All this was around 2:34 on 5/29/20. I asked the young lady if I could speak to her supervisor and she said no supervisor was there because she was working from home. I understand and said you are skyping with her correct? to which she replied she was. I asked her to give my number to the supervisor and have her call me. She said she would give her my number but wasn't sure ( I believe she said she actually doubted) that the supervisor would call me. I said that's fine but if she doesn't call me I will cancel my dealings with TruGreen immediately. Hence this email. Last year I paid in full on 7/17/19 for 6 treatments, total $577.44. Last year they performed 4 treatments and they have performed on treatment this year. So from last years payment I would like a refund of $96.24. I also paid $399.14 on 12/11/19 for this next years entire service (I told them I only wanted to pay for 4 more because they still owed me two treatments from last year). I would like a refund of 96.24 + 399.14 = $495.38 immediately to the credit card that was used. My name is XXXX XXXX and you can contact me at XXX-XXX-XXXX as soon as possible. I'm very disgruntled right now with all my visits being constantly moved around without me being told (dont tell me it's the COVID because that's something you need to have planned for by now, i understand with the first visit). If I could give negative stars I would. Completely ruined my grass! Signed up with Tru Green HUGE MISTAKE they got me for not only grass care but mosquito defense as well first application of both did nothing. Filed complaint and the grass guy came back and seemed to be ok mosquito guy never came and wrote a note on the app claiming my dogs were outside but we weren't even home so they were in crates. Lawn guy came last week and sprayed the incorrect chemical on our lawn (we had an evaluation done by a real professional) and by that evening our grass began dying contacted them immediately and their branch manager began with his arrogant and accusatory emails saying it was dying from improper grass cutting and blade sharpening which was complete BS. I did demand a refund which I have yet to see and will not stop contacting until I not only get a refund but Tru Green will pay for a real professional to fix their mess up. STAY FAR AWAY! read more

The first time they were scheduled they went to the wrong address. Then they finally came back after repeated phone calls & only sprayed a part of the front yard. I was home & couldn't catch the guy before he left. This past time, I was home again, & they only did part of the front yard. I'm tired of calling them!!! read more

Just started a new service. Signed up for full service for a year. Had one visit for spraying lawn. I spoke with him and told him that no one had been out to survey the lawn and what was needed. Told him that it really needed aeriation and reseeding done, he agreed. A week later, we had more weeds than before. I have called several times and was told a supervisor would be calling me back. Yeah, never happened. Then got automated call saying someone would be here for free respray. Didn't happen. Got call again for next day. Spoke to Madison and she said someone would still be coming out that day. Didn't happen. Someone shows up today, while it's raining and sprayed front and half of the back but not the side yards. I am going to go to better business bureau and contact my credit card company to get my money back. They have not provided the service that is "guaranteed". Like most reviews on here, I would give negative stars if possible. read more
