Ziehler lawn service is the real deal. I chose them based on online reviews and gave them a try. Jacob was our technician and when he arrived at our house, he walked around the yard to see what weeds were a problem, and checked the yard in general. When I came out he met me with a smile and handshake. Very polite, professional and talked about the condition of the yard in general. Couldn't ask for more. After trying most of the other lawn company's in the past, it was nice to finally get what I was being told I would get. Great company and a person answers the phone anytime I call. Very pleased and highly recommend ! Just a follow up, tell Jacob to take a bow at that morning meeting and tell everyone else to take notes !!! I own a business and could only hope to find employees like him. I've been in my home 4 years and the lawn has never looked this good. A huge difference is it's not just the middle. Ziehler initially provided commendable service during the previous year and at the beginning of this year; however, the lawn deteriorated noticeably at the end of the season, as shown in the accompanying pictures. This past winter, I decided to remove two pear trees from the backyard and one from the front yard. A supervisor attributed the lawn's decline to the removal of these trees and to the high summer temperatures. Notably, the front yard has not exhibited any signs of being affected. The recommendation provided was to invest further resources into reseeding and aerating the lawn. I intend to manage these improvements independently, as I believe the current situation cannot worsen significantly. read more

I've had Ziehler for 2 years. My lawn has never looked better. The service techs are very careful when they apply chemicals because of my two small dogs. They do a thorough job and always leave a door hanger or try to contact me before they leave. If I have questions, they will call me right back. I've been very happy with their services. read more

I'm going to give 1 star because I have too. Came out to my house to do lawn maintenance to spray for weeds and the gentleman went over wet grass after it snowed with a lawn spreader and caused a big hole and exposed are sump pump line. Now they have been giving us a hard time getting fixed. They are now saying the guy who serviced our yard states he did not do it but of course he won't admit to doing wrong. We contacted Ziehler Lawn Care early this spring to deal with weeds that had overtaken our yard/mulch beds. From the first phone call, they've been knowledgeable, responsive, and courteous. After the first application, we noticed a marked difference and have been able to move forward with landscaping that we'd put off in our new home because of yard condition. They send email the day before so we know they are coming and their treatment follow up emails are very helpful. We've loved their service so far and highly recommend them. They're a little more expensive than a service we've used before but the product/service and customer service is top notch. You get what you pay for and we feel it's worth it. read more

This is my second review for Ziehler Lawn and Tree Care. Just like the first review, their service remains outstanding! The first review was written on 6/4/2018 prior to having any actual services performed. I was extremely impressed with my initial call to the office and them sending out an arborist the same day to look at my trees and shrubs. Now I've had a lawn treatment, as well as a tree and shrub treatment. I received an email the day prior on each, as well as a post-service email as to what was done regarding the treatment. To me, that is a superior service they provide as well. I have also had some email exchange with "Erin" who is a "Customer Experience Specialist" and she has been absolutely super too. Timely replies, and extremely accommodating to my requests (e.g. not to leave any paperwork on the front door or mail any paperwork as we prefer "paperless"). I obviously would highly recommend this company. If anything changes over time, not that I think it will, but if it does I will delete these emails and provide a more current review. read more

After over a dozen yrs of trying 3 different lawn services (& doing it myself after frustrating results), I switched to Ziehler and finally have a "Ziehler Lawn". The main difference is that Ziehler knows the area, and their treatment formulations are specifically effective for this soil (unlike generic treatments). Communication is excellent from their customer service (accommodating last minute schedule changes or requests) to the technician's feedback after servicing the lawn (if all techs are like mine, Spencer, they're great). There's a reason why so many in our neighborhood have switched to Ziehler - can't argue with results. It is also a pleasure to use a local company of this quality that is so well run. Ziehler has earned my grading system's rare highest score for service companies (Prompt, Proficient, Professional, Problem-solver, Patient, and Pleasant) - 6 P's! read more

I have been using Ziehler for 3 years and after the first year the rating would have been a 5, but now, it is much less. I realize Covid changed things but it shouldn't change customer service. When someone comes to service your lawn and your home, they should at least ring the bell to allow the customer to tell them what is going on with their lawn. They don't. I called Z about having dead spots in my lawn from what looked like grubs, for which i get the grub treatment. Jacob came out and honestly, what a conceded jerk. He told me "when i saw the report i knew it wasn't grubs, our spray never fails". He showed me a different type of bug that falls under the "ant/flea/tick" treatment which is another $385 a year. I said, you guys are getting pricey, to which he said, "our business is a luxury and its not for everyone" and it was in a very smug voice. I asked him why the service techs didn't note any of the many dead spots i have on the lawn in my service reports, he said it is not their responsibility to inspect the lawns. Seriously, that is what they used to do pre-covid.....Or at least give you the opportunity when they rang the bell. The last thing that really upset me is when Jacob told me that a healthy lawn attracts more lawn feeding insects/bugs, why would a healthy lawn your paying good money to have be attracted by more bugs, that doesn't make sense. I look across the street and see neighbors that have the same lawn i do and they don't do anything. This year the service has stunk, my yard looks worse than it did when they started and the pricing keeps going up. The aeration went from $430 two years ago to $530. And when i used them for it two years ago, they did it at the end of October, which was way too late and most of the seed never took. read more

I've been a customer for 4 years after switching over from Scott's. I have found them to be very courteous and professional, plus my lawn always looks great. I asked them specifically to never ring my doorbell, which is their protocol, because of napping babies. They have never slipped up. Prices are similar to other companies but I feel they have a bit of a personal touch. read more

The cost continues to increase as a customer and the services auto renew each year unless you call and cancel. Before you know it you have an expensive bill for the same service. I have decided to treat it myself and find that it is "just grass" and insect control is fairly easy to do on my own with products found locally. read more

Great company, great technicians who know their business, fast, professional service with AMAZING results. Our lawn was crawling in clover, ivy, crabgrass, and other weeds and the grass itself was ragged and thin. In the course of one year, they have turned that lawn into a showpiece of lush, thick, grass with all of the weeds gone and no grubs! The services we asked for from them included regular visits for weeds (nearly $500) and included a lawn evaluation, plus 6 visits for weed killing, control & prevention, and another visit for grub control. In the fall, we were so happy with the results that we added on a $200+ visit for lawn aeration to get a jump on next spring. Almost signed up for the tree care as well. Their technicians came out, examined & sprayed, gave us a report each time they came, and were very friendly and thorough. Plus, they gave us a 10% discount if we signed up for the same services for 2016. We elected to prepay for all of these, which was the cheapest way to go and least hassle, but it would have been easy in either case. Their wonderful website also includes account monitoring and allows you to set up "pay-as-you-go," or monthly payments or lump sums for service, and shows you the cost comparison for each option, too, which I like. Contacted this company because of their marketed great and personal customer service but this company is anything but that. Look elsewhere for a reliable company that will put down the product down on a timely basis without having to call them and do what they said they would, such as calling in advance, blowing off product., etc. Their tree care expert was anything but an expert; he didn't know even the basics of tree diseases. Their employees do an extremely poor job trimming and cutting your grass. They blew leaves and clippings in my garage numerous times. Someone is supervison comes out and says they come out and clean up what they missed. OMG! Butchered my lawn. Caution people! read more
