Walking up to the building the had great marketing signs of specials they were offering for IRAs and Certificates. As I walked into the location to women immediately greeted me. I noticed how clean and night it was inside and how then have a complimentary coffee station for customers. This was perfect for this unusual cold March day in Charlotte. The clerk assisted me with my deposit as well as answering my questions regarding my debit card. Again I've had the account for quite some time and never used it. So I wanted to make sure it was still doing ok and my card was ok. They provided great assistance and informative on ways to activate my card if needed as they no longer offer this feature in store. They didn't try to talk with me about opening more accounts or solicit anything to me. I truly appreciate that trulient. Over all I had a good first experience.

It is located right across from Southpark mall…read more It's a very nice bank, and as soon as you walk in, you are greeted by all friendly staff members. There was no line when I arrived and was immediately seen. What I needed did take a bit longer as they had to do some verifications, but everyone was patient and apologizing for the wait, which was no problem for me. They have a grand staircase right in the front and decorated already for the Christmas holidays. This was the first bank that looked upscale and gave a very different bank vibe than most of the other banks. It's definitely an experience for sure.

A small credit union based out of North Carolina that anyone in the nation can join if they join…read morethe North Carolina Consumers Council. At the time of this review, they have some of the lowest APR for vehicle loans for the general public - 2.49% for up to 84 months. Yet, there is some issues that they need to address especially since they service the entire nation - even if they are small. To join the credit union - they are still doing paper applications, which has to be mailed if you are out of state - no reason to do this anymore in 2020. Also no reason to send e-mails regarding your account instead of through a secure, internal messaging system. After one's credit is pulled for a loan is when you learn, that they have a monetary limit how much they will loan for a private sale. So this excludes high-end vehicles. This should be notated somewhere on their website or even before you apply for a loan. Speaking of the website, after you login, it could definitely benefit from upgrades at least in terms of navigation and options to the user - very basic. While the staff were friendly and quick to respond to my e-mails - they should probably have more staff on hand and adjust a few shortcomings - especially since anyone can join this credit union.

DO NOT WORK HERE. My partner dedicated nearly two years to…read moreSkyla Credit Union and was terminated without any real notice over something incredibly minor and frankly unreasonable. During his time there, he never called out once, consistently stepped up whenever the branch needed help, traveled to other locations on short notice, and even took on lead teller responsibilities without proper compensation. He built strong relationships with members and was the top-performing teller in his branch. Despite all of this, he was let go for being late three times -- each instance by about six minutes. There was no pattern of poor performance, no history of misconduct, and no consideration given to the overwhelming value he brought to the team and the members he served. The decision shows a complete lack of appreciation for loyalty, work ethic, and dedication. For an organization that promotes community values and member relationships, this treatment of a reliable and high-performing employee is deeply disappointing and is absolutely unethical. It sends a clear message that hard work and commitment mean very little here. Anyone considering working for Skyla Credit Union should be aware of how quickly and unfairly you can be discarded, regardless of your performance or dedication.
