Love the stained-glass windows, the abundance of wood, and the Christmas decorations (2 trees!). Singing group from L&CCC was spot on and really reflected the mood of the season. Even though there was not a large crowd in attendance (it was at 3:00 in the afternoon), everyone was friendly, warm, and welcoming. And, a further bonus - the pastor is an avid "Yelper!"

Being that I am black, this was a real problem for me. Most of the congregation also responded negatively to people of color in their presence. It is a pitiful shame that blatant racism exists in the church. Black people go through enough racism on a daily basis without having to endure even more in the Lord's House. Father Jim is very passionate about the Catholic faith and the teachings of Jesus. He is also very inspirational! I leave Mass feeling great and ready for anything life can throw my way. The choir at Saint Clare are so very talented. The songs sung by the choir are very moving and beautiful. Saint Clare Catholic Church is an archeological wonder! The church is rather new and it is gorgeous! The layout of the church allows for the parishioners and guest to have a great view of the alter. The parishioners are very down to earth and friendly. When you step foot into Saint Clare Catholic Church, you feel very welcome. If you are looking for a church that will bring you closer to the faith and to inspire you, please visit Saint Clare. They offer 5:00 mass on Saturday and 8:30 and 10:30 mass on Sunday.

But when we got on the bus the girls on the bus asked kids d9 they want a cookie we were never asked and we were the only older people on the bus only younger people were on there. So I don't think we will be going back to that church. So we don't fit in n it's sad the way older people are treated in the world people acting like they are christian and they are not only rude racist I'm not going back but I think everyone should know

While I agree with this statement, and the "we have no creed but Christ" mentality of the Restoration movement, I must speak on something that the Bible is silent on. I am talking, of course, about Casting Crowns. Today my faith was rewarded. The pastor at Leclaire Christian Church mentioned the legendary rock group Casting Crowns in his sermon. While most hip and modern mega churches pander to the youths by playing the latest Hillsong or Bethel "worship" music, it's good to see that some people still respect true Christian music. Don't let the 5 star review fool you (only Jesus is perfect), this church still has a long way to go. It would be a true blessing if they started playing Casting Crowns and not merely referencing them. I get the sense, however, that the lead pastor would like to do this, but he is probably getting pushback (the enemy at work, no doubt). If you want to visit a kind and loving church that also has a rare respect for the world's greatest Christian rock group, Casting Crowns, then look no further. While the rest of the country is asking Oprah what to do, it appears the LCC is listening to the voice of Truth.

The pastor is excellent - the messages are rooted in Biblical truth but also applicable to life today. It's a smaller church and easy to meet people if you try to get involved. I like how much this church tries to be the hands and feet of Jesus outside of the church walls, supporting both local needs and missionaries. The church also does "serve days," where families go out and volunteer at local nursing homes and nonprofits.
