I showed my stylist a picture of me with a cut I had gotten recently that I really liked (the length, where the fade happens around my ears, etc.) and asked if I can get it done that way. When she had finished cutting my hair, the sides were choppy and rough - worse than Great Clips quality, the sides were uneven and weren't level with each other, the top and side of the comb over didn't transition smoothly (it was like a mop was placed over a buzz cut), and the crown of the head was way too long and messy. I had to basically tutor my barber on each of these issues of how to cut properly. By the end (with my careful instruction which should be learned in barber school), my hair came out just ok. I am not exaggerating when I say I have better luck at Great Clips - that's where I normally go, but wanted to treat myself this time around for a date. This haircut was $40 without tip. I don't know what qualifications are needed to work here, but the standards must be low. From my experience, my cut is worth an honest $10.
