City of Vine grove don't blink or you will miss it!…read more The City of Vine grove has a nice old time small town USA feeling here. As you as drive through to the creek I believe there is 2 stop signs. They have a farmers market near the railroad track. I'm guessing the population is less than 4000. Two of the liquor stores (stubbies and berry's recently closed down ever since Radcliff allowed alcohol sales in their town. The terrain has rolling hills and plenty of curves which are great for riding your cycle. Make sure to wear your seat belts and watch your speed its easy for vehicles to glide over those smooth new roads.

It is a nice small town giving off a real small town usa vibe. It is also fun to walk around the downtown area and see old buildings you never would have noticed. The only issue is that some of the areas are not as well maintained.

Although our trips to and from Ohio have never allowed us time to explore Elizabethtown much at all, we have certainly enjoyed the conveniences offered at the exit off of I65 including the White Castle (closest thing we have to WC in Alabama is Kystal) and the BP gas station across the street. Here I would stock up on postcards, snacks, drinks, and scratch off lotto tickets! The BP also has clean restrooms, and makes a nice area to walk the dogs if they came along on a trip!

Plenty of construction and shopping as we speak even during the past 4 years. This year was the first/ inaugural (BBB) BBQ blues and bike festival. On Saturday May25 of memorial day weekend. Plenty to do and see. It is a family oriented party to celebrate the beginning of summer showcasing bikes music and food. I hear it did quite well with around 20K people attending. Didn't see any wild or crazy activity. Who knows maybe next year?

This completely free event has a entrance and a exit point. You line up for the entrance and drive slowly through the light show which features everything from classical holiday designs, characters and figures to pop culture decorations such as super hero's or popular tv characters. The closer you get to Christmas the longer the lines will be. Especially on a Friday or Saturday night. I take my family through here every few years as it's a decent haul from Lousiville. We try and go on an early December weekday night so it is t very crowded and then we go into town and find a place to dine (we always seem to end up at the cool wicked eye woman). Overall This a free, cool and large holiday lights display. Perfect to put anyone or any family in the holiday spirits. Great job by the folks of Elizabethtown and freeman lake park for hosting This event annually.
