However the opposite happened. They came by on a super hot day (2 guys) did not even ask for the deposit. They started working on the deck, removed several dead planks. I gave them water because I felt bad to see them work hard at a very hot weather. After removing the planks. They proceeded to power wash the deck. I don't have deck stairs so they lifted the heavy power wash to the deck and washed the whole thing. At the end I gave them their deposit which they were ok waiting for me to get it from the bank. Cut to several days later due to constant rain, they started to replace the planks and repaint. I was not home. They came and did am amazing job. After the job is done, I contacted them to coordinate to pay them the full price. They were trusting which means they are trusting with their job as well. I would hire them again for another job but for now, I hope this helps others.

The call was challenging because the person spoke too fast and mumbled and was civil at best. I sent a polite text and email canceling an in person consult because their pricing was too high for my deck resurfacing. and they made a big point of emailing me and telling me that regrettably they had to cancel. that last part was just strange. I found the customer service just lacking and high end of pricing.

Disappointing experience trying to get an estimate…read more Reached out via Yelp on a Tuesday for an estimate. They responded on Wednesday and offered me a single time slot via Yelp scheduler forMonday. Got called in over the weekend so asked about another time. No response even though they read the message. I asked again and no response. Asked a few companies for estimates and this was the only one I couldn't get an estimate on.

I was worried that we'd have to replace both but Nery assured us that with some repair and restoring work, they both look brand new and will last us for many more years, and he was right! They went above and beyond, doing detailed sanding and even repairing some rotten woodwork that we didn't even see. He even came back to do touch ups several weeks afterwards. Robert Altendorf (the owner) walked us through the process and provided an array of options including deck materials, style of roof for the screen porch and other items we had not taken into consideration (including screening under the portion of the deck covered by the screen porch so we wouldn't get any unwanted visitors in the porch area). His crew was fantastic. They had the old deck down in less than a day and immediately started on building the new deck. The work was of very high quality and the price was well within the range we expected. Most recently one of the screens in the porch are detached during some strong winds and Robert quickly came out and replaced the screening himself. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Robert and we definitely benefited from his expertise and care in addressing any issues that came up. We would highly recommend RJ Construction for any deck projects.

It looked great. We then got a stop work order from Montgomery County as RJ Construction did not apply and pay for a permit as was stated in our contract. Their attention to detail was impressive.
