//5 stars for great quality I needed to a refurbishment of my deck with a short deadline to meet the HOA deadline. At first when I contacted them, they could not promise the time line. However the opposite happened. They came by on a super hot day (2 guys) did not even ask for the deposit. They started working on the deck, removed several dead planks. I gave them water because I felt bad to see them work hard at a very hot weather. After removing the planks. They proceeded to power wash the deck. I don't have deck stairs so they lifted the heavy power wash to the deck and washed the whole thing. At the end I gave them their deposit which they were ok waiting for me to get it from the bank. Cut to several days later due to constant rain, they started to replace the planks and repaint. I was not home. They came and did am amazing job. After the job is done, I contacted them to coordinate to pay them the full price. They were trusting which means they are trusting with their job as well. I would hire them again for another job but for now, I hope this helps others. read more

I wasn't going to provide reviews but I kept receiving requests from them. I would have given a Zero rating if I could. A number of issues immediately after the repair and restoration, including paint bubbles, etc. Jim insisted on they were not problems despite of the fact he had to come back and fix the issues. But the worst part is that the deck posts (over 20 years old) were all rotten at the time of this repair, to such an extent the deck was at risk of collapsing - I have the pictures to prove. Deck Armor did not mention a thing and just painted over them. Other contractors discovered it when working around the deck. When I talked Jim, he just brushed it off and said no concerns, it was going to last 10-15 more years. I finally got another contractor to replace them and found the conditions of the post just horrifying - the deck was at risk to collapse any time! In fact, one side of the deck was sinking and deck was leaning to the extent we could see it. Again, we raised the issue to Jim and was told no issue what so ever. We have replaced all the posts since then and we now feel safe. But this was an extraordinary experience. I would not recommend Deck Armor for any major repairs and restoration. read more

No matter the quality of the work, no one should do business with an owner who is arrogant, curt, and dismissive. If I had known how rude Jim was before his team began to destroy my old deck, I would not have done business with Deck Armor. Jim leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to professionalism and quality, respectful customer service. As I selected the materials for my deck, several times Jim mentioned "that's expensive". I've wondered to myself several times, was my experience a matter of racism? I am truly sorry that I did business with this company. After completing my deck, Jim's team left building materials and debris in my yard for more than week. In addition, one of the company trucks left an oil stain on my driveway. Their team were punctual for all the arrangements and completed my deck on time. Once the project was completed and inspected to pass their quality process, I had a few concerns with some minor cosmetic issues due to severe thunderstorm, the owner addressed it for me no questions asked. It is challenging finding for company with good communication, good timeliness, and quality services in this line of work. I was very satisfied with the work performed. Deck Armor came out to the location meet with me and review the job ensuring we were on the same page. This allowed me to put in place my expectations around time to complete the job and possible delays due to rainy days. With this understanding we paid our deposit and waited for the magic. A few days later the work began and I must admit I was nervous as they took part the deck replacing bad wood with new wood. We had a short conversation in the middle of the process at which time they reminded us to exercise patience as the work was in progress and we should wait til the end. I had a bad experience working with this company. The owner of the company made many claims and promises about the work. I hired them to refinish my deck and was told it would last for 20 or 30 years and that they would be responsible for the longevity of my deck due to the amazing warranty. In less than 3 years there were rotting boards and the paint was peeling. I believe they knew certain boards were prone to rot and just painted over them. They said they would tighten up all the posts on my railing and they never did that at all...the posts are still loose and coming off. I contacted them to come back and fix the problems advising the company that they could come on any date and at any time. Yet they will not schedule the repair with me. I paid extra for the so-called "premium package" because it included the 10 year warranty. This company has little integrity and consumers should not believe all of the claims that they make. read more

After shopping for a good deck company with my husband, we finally decided to give this one a shot. We opted for the composite finish process with acrylic stain which is easy to maintain (I can hose it down no problem and the kids get no splinters). Knowledgeable, flexible service, right from the start! We needed to hit a completion date on very short notice and had an earlier estimate from these guys so called them. Despite the challenging weather and short time-frame at the height of the season, the Deck Armor crew finished the project with several days to spare. In doing so they were successful in turning the clock back on an 18 year-old deck that needed considerable work. Great carpentry and surface treatments to restore the deck, in several cases better than when it was originally installed.
