For what it is, though it wasn't bad, the one restaurant I could eat in had surprisingly good food and you get a pretty cool view of everything. I gotta say the moment I walked off the plane and realized I was unloading downstairs onto the tarmac, and into a shipping container hallway........ that was a feeling for sure... But my car rental went super smooth, and it's a breeze to get in and out of this airport. Weirdly even in this small town, the TSA people appear to be just as mean. It's like they send them to some kind of meanness college..

A small regional airport with the convenience of not having to fly into Portland and drive a long…read moredistance for a weekend getaway in the mountains. The short/long term parking is just outside the airport doors. The luggage is picked up just inside close to the car rental area. There are some educational areas with displays showing some Redmond history and local artifacts. When flying in out of this airport, you walk out onto the tarmac area to where the planes are located. There are porters to help those with special needs. There are only a few gates, so there is no need to worry about crowds, whether coming or going.

I recently flew into Madras airport and was hoping to get some fuel…read more Just before landing the ATIS had a mention that their self serve fuel pump was temporarily down for service. They listed a number to call for the FBO manager. After calling the manager said she would use the fuel truck and honor the self serve fuel price. They even offered to fill up the plane! It was great service! They have an awesome pilot lounge, where we waited and had some food and beverages! All around exceptional service and hospitality!! They even have a crew car, if needed! ALL good things to know!

In September, 2025, my brother and I were flying to the Hood River, OR airport to attend their…read moreannual Fly In but needed to divert to Madras Municipal Airport to wait out some adverse weather. We were there for 3+ hours and the staff of Lorraine and Abbey were very accommodating and helpful with parking, a comfortable lobby and even complimentary snacks and drinks. They were both very welcoming, helpful, courteous and professional. Our unintended visit was thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you Lorraine and Abbey!
