I am a sucker for a good matcha-based parfait and Tsujiri never disappoints. My favourite to order here is either the Shiratama or Dessert parfait with matcha or matcha/houjicha blended ice-cream. Another favourite of mine is the O-matcha black sesame latte and the matcha daifuku. The 16th avenue Calgary location is beautifully decorated and feels very warm, calm, and welcoming. The truly best location though is the Edmonton downtown location which has a lot more space for groups. It can get a little pricey but the quality is worth it in my opinion. read more

This spot was close to where we were staying in Calgary, so we stopped by for a pick-me-up on the way home after a morning of shopping. We had a decently large group, but everything still came out pretty fast after each of us ordered. I got a cold O-Matcha Latte which was smooth and refreshing. Also tried my friends' parfait and soft cream which were creamy and tasty too! No grittiness is any of the drinks or desserts I tried. It's a little on the pricier side but usually getting matcha is a once in a while treat for me anyways. No parking lot so you'll have to find street parking. read more

We were in town for a bachelorette and the bride-to-be loves matcha, so I tried to look up shops and found this spot just a few minutes away from our AirBnB! - PARKING- There's only a few spots around the corner of the store, otherwise you'll have to try to find street parking nearby. Don't go to the back lot where Peter's Drive-In is, as they have security watching for people who leave the lot and aren't getting food there. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - Pretty small shop but cozy! They have a small fridge area for their desserts, and a pretty extensive menu of drinks. Staff was friendly and working pretty fast to get out all these matcha drinks! - DRINKS - O-Matcha Maple Syrup & Salt Latte: I figured while in Canada, why not get maple syrup whenever I can?! Although it did seem slightly sweeter, I couldn't exactly tell it was maple syrup. We came here and got the matcha mochi. It was just ok, nothing exceptional. The staff was friendly and put it in a really pretty box. The flavor itself was nothing exceptional and the mochi was super sticky (started sticking to the sides of the box and ripping the paper). Parking is hard to find being on the Trans Canada Highway and with no private parking lot. The cakes are delicate, spongy and not sweet, but also TEENY TINY! A single slice is only 3.5" x 1.5" big for $5.25. I also got a hot Kinako Kuromitsu Latte....I don't know why it had Matcha in it when it doesn't have matcha in the name. Unfortunately, the matcha overpowered the flavour of the Kinako, and I don't think the matcha was stirred properly either as it was clumpy on the sides. It's a nice cafe to meet with friends if you want to be bougie, but I personally wouldn't go out of my way to come back again, being inconvenient and pricey. read more

I am a sucker for matcha AND softserve so I the parfait was a great sharable dessert. They also had the hojicha flavor which gives an earthier taste so I also had to get that. Both were tasty and recommend getting it with the mochi. They didn't have the other desserts that they sell in the case during my visit but I would be curious to try the other items they sell. read more

I got the soft serve matcha in a cone the yuzu cheesecake, and the matcha dufuku (spelling?). Of the 3 my favorite was the cheesecake. It was perfectly balanced. Tsujiri finally opened in Calgary, on 16 Ave next to the Coco. I have stopped by a few times in the evening after dinner and their pastries/daifuku have been sold out every time, so if you are looking for those items, come early! It's still quite busy so we haven't been able to find a seat but we just take it to go as we live nearby. They serve a variety of hot and cold beverages (yuzu/matcha/hojicha flavoured), soft serve (vanilla, matcha, or those two flavours twisted), parfaits, and shaved ice to name a few. The few times I've stopped by I have tried the Shiratama parfait and the Tsujiri parfait. While being very aesthetically pleasing, I didn't particularly enjoy the crunchy bits in the parfait. But of course, that is personal preference. However, you can get the same toppings for about ~75 cents each. My favourites are the shiratama mochi and red bean, which compliments the matcha well. The matcha soft serve has very intense matcha flavour, so I enjoy the twist more! I definitely recommend the twist if you are a matcha "beginner". Tsujiri is more of a pricey dessert place, but they use good quality ingredients. I will continue to return and have enjoyed my visits so far. read more

When I first walked into Tsujiri I noticed that it was such a cute little authentic Japanese style matcha inspired dessert place. The decoration is all about the history of matcha or also known as green tea. The menu is easy to read and easy to order. Once you order, you'll receive your sweets shortly. Finally had the time to try this place, everytime i drove by it was busy! So i ordered a matcha latte( but the girl took the order wrong and i got a o-matcha plain instead) and a matcha daifuku, which pretty much is a soft mochi. Both tea and mochi were superb, delicious! Small portions though, but the quality is above so i did not mind paying 10 for all this, but it definitely is not something i could afford every day. What i liked the most was the daifuku presentation: i asked for it to go, and it came in a cute little container box, that when opened it resembled a lotus flower, it looked so nice i has second thoughts about eating the daifuku or just stare at it. I think it would work great for a little indulge present to the wife too! Haha. Overall, thumbs up, will come back again read more

The daifuku and cheesecake deserts are amazing!!! The drinks are unique and not too bad. The place is modern inside and could get loud quickly. Some seatings are very close together and limited. It's a good place to hang out but not good for a long relaxing chat meet. Prices are also on the high end. I'd go back again but probably wouldn't be a regular. read more
