    Monster Mango
    Shweta S.

This is located inside the Dragon City Mall in Chinatown. It's pretty new but popular so you might need to wait to get a seat. We got the regular Monster Mango Shaved Ice which had fresh mango fruit, milk sauce and mango sauce. The sauce topping is unlimited. It is super tasty and tastes fresh and light. Highly recommend it.

The monster Thai tea-flavored kakigori (limited edition). The other flavors similarly looked like this and were of the same size.

We had a decently large group, but everything still came out pretty fast after each of us ordered. I got a cold O-Matcha Latte which was smooth and refreshing. Also tried my friends' parfait and soft cream which were creamy and tasty too! No grittiness is any of the drinks or desserts I tried. It's a little on the pricier side but usually getting matcha is a once in a while treat for me anyways. No parking lot so you'll have to find street parking.

Don't go to the back lot where Peter's Drive-In is, as they have security watching for people who leave the lot and aren't getting food there. - SERVICE/ENVIRONMENT - Pretty small shop but cozy! They have a small fridge area for their desserts, and a pretty extensive menu of drinks. Staff was friendly and working pretty fast to get out all these matcha drinks! - DRINKS - O-Matcha Maple Syrup & Salt Latte: I figured while in Canada, why not get maple syrup whenever I can?! Although it did seem slightly sweeter, I couldn't exactly tell it was maple syrup. The matcha was nice and smooth though! - OVERALL - Happy that we found this matcha shop that seemed to be the only one within this area!

Chunks of cheesecake over shaved ice, topped with whipped cream and a bit of condensed milk. This was my favorite! We also ordered mango bingsu which was topped with fresh mango, mango puree and whipped cream. I wasn't a fan of the mango puree as I found it a bit too sweet for my liking. If neither of these are too tie liking, they also have matcha, melon, blueberry, strawberry, etc flavors as well. Also, they have taiyaki and a few other menu items. Service is just like a take out place in which you order at the counter but they bring you your order. It does take a few minutes to make so bear that in mind. Tables are clean and orderly. Overall, great place conveniently located inside a strip mall.

I've tasted some of the Strawberry and I say it's one of the best flavor since it reminded me of a Strawberry shortcake. The Strawberry toppings are generous too and just enough sweetness that it's a nice indulgence. The honeydew is also generous but I found it a little hard since it might have been placed in a frozen honeydew fruit bowl . That idea is ingenious but maybe don't store it too long in the freezer prior to serving since it will make the rounded honeydew bits too cold for people with sensitive teeth. Mine isn't as generous on the toppings which I find the least appealing since there's no apt topping to boot it made the flavor a little bit lackluster. Overall tho it's a good experience. I suggest making some more variety of snacks so there's more choices if possible. Ambiance is great too. Comfy and nice touch with the warm and inviting decor and color palette and the people working are always helpful and friendly.

Back in 2017, I remembered seeing a billboard just outside of Jus Fruit (that was when all Quickly…read morechanged to Jus Fruit) saying they are the first to have shaved ice in YYC. I then bookmarked this place. Not until recently (after over 2 years), I finally got a chance to try their shaved ice. Vancouver had shaved ice long before Calgary. It was a hit over there. Also there are way more shaved ice places in metro Vancouver. I came here with my sister just shortly after our dinner (we ate at a place just few blocks down) for some shaved ice desserts. I was very full from dinner but decided to share something with her. We ended up settling for the creamy mango shaved ice (also known as bingsoo in Korean). I had better shaved ice in Vancouver. The good thing is that Jus Fruit shaved is not really shaved from a block of ice. It was really shaved frozen condense milk ice. So it is not exactly ice. There wasn't a lot of mango in their shaved ice cream. The mango are only placed on top of the dessert along with a few tiny pieces of cheese cakes (size of pinky but shorter). As well the portion is somewhat small for what they are charging compared to Vancouver. Their shaved ice was very flavorful and it wasn't bad. Just wished there were more mango slices. Again, not a lot of places offers shaved ice in Calgary. I guess if I wanted shave ice, I would have to come to Jus Fruit.

RATING: 8.5/10 - Jusfruit: Monster Egg Bomb Sandwiches What puts this dish in a league of its own is the Danish Style toast. It was buttery, slightly sweet, flaky and reminded me of a cross between a croissant and a slice of French toast. It was a great compliment to all the other ingredients. The scrambled eggs were moist and melted into the cheddar cheese. I got the Korean Beef-- great BBQ taste and extremely tender. The BF got the Lemon Grass Chicken which had a lovely, well, lemon grass flavour. Add the spicy sauce and mayo and you have a most scrumptious creation. My taste buds were thanking me. Yours will too. I would try another one of these in a heartbeat. Perfect hangover food. If you're looking for a quick breakfast or brunch, grab one of these babies. Who else loves a breakfast sandwich?
